Nairaland GeneralRe: Believers, Why Do You Celebrate Christmas? by BroOptimist(m): 10:54am On Dec 08, 2019
Op, you have said it all. Most people do celebrate Christmas just because other people do it. But, I want to tell you that those people that do it yearly have been bamboozled and deluded. Their brains have been reprogrammed and reset. They have been successfully misled. Yes! Because, if not, why or how can you be practicing something baseless. There's no any biblical verses that support it. It doesn't have any proofs in the Bible. So, why are people so gullible to this extenthuh

Honestly speaking, Christmas is nothing but celebration of idols.

CultureRe: Welcome Gomina Gomina!! A Throwback Story Of A One Time Akire Of Ikire, Osun by BroOptimist(m): 9:49am On Dec 01, 2019
micronut:
Who still remember that hearsay story of a semi-illiterate but smart king from a town called Ikire in the present Osun state that they used to tell us back then?

OK. Let me gist you. Several decades ago, there lived a king, who was a merchant dealer - semi illiterate but quite smart and very intelligent. He was a real community mobilizer and was so engrossed with the development of his people – a virtue that made him to become the king. So, we were told.

Ikire land, had so many bad roads then, nothing like Ife-Ibadan road, that you see today. Everywhere was purely dusty and badly un-motorable. There were no electricity, no drinkable water and lots of social Amenities that could give a town a face lift. In short, the town has no government presence. And the King wanted to bring some things to the town at least.

So, one day, there were news that filtered in, that a white Gov- General is coming from Ibadan to see the Ooni in Ife then, and would have a stopover at Ikire, to see some timber workers.

As the king heard of this, he was so happy that he will see the General for the first, and will serve as a perfect opportunity to tell him some of the things that are badly in need of in his town.

Then a problem arises, he really can’t express himself very well in English and he doesn’t want a translator, because that may portray him as a pure village head unlike a king that is educated that the whites always want to relate with. So, the wise king got some tutors. They taught him what to say, in form of a speech, but the king formulated his own, in the best way he knows how to express himself.

And the long waited arrived, the king met the whiteman in the Forest with his palace entourage fully decked in their cultural regalia of Aso oke.. The white Governor was happy to see them, he felt honored and was ready to hear them out. Then the king began to read his speech written on a piece of paper, but he was reading something else, the one he had crammed.

He started by putting on his pair of glasses, to portray him as an educated fellow.

Then he began by saying.. “Royal royal ooo… Eeeh eee! Welcome gomina gomina. You’re a kingi, ayamu a kingi.. Kingi meji pade arawon! Ikire wanti wanti INA… Ikire wanti wanti omi, ikire wanti wanti ona baba ona l’ona apomu”.. Then he concludes by saying, “this is me to you ooooo gomina gomina, your royal royal” [Your lordship, you are most welcomed the governor. You are a king, so am I. Two kings are meeting today. Ikire needs Electricity badly. Ikire wants drinkable water. Ikire needs good roads, from Apomu side].

The whiteman who was already picking some Yoruba words before then, just laughed heavily and asked if what he was thinking was what the king was seeking for. The few educated town’s men nodded in affirmation and told the Gov in better ways, what the king was saying.

Just as the king is now, seated nodding his head and muttering a particular word, saying “there you are, dia you are.. Han han! Boserigan niyen, there you are”

Since then, the wonderful town of Ikire never remained the same again, as the Gov general not only gave them roads, but electricity and pipe borne water.

Moral lesson: Say it the way you know how to say it, people would help you understand it.

When people read bible without interpretation from Holy Spirit, they misbehave. If you are close to Bible and you study it very well, your eyes will open. If you like accept him as the Lord and Saviour and if you like don't.
Oga, leave the story and show those verses in the Bible where Jesus has opened his mouth and said " I'm God or accept me as your personal Lord and saviour". It's very simple nah. Shoooooooo...

Where did Jesus say " accept me as your personal Lord and Saviour"?

Please, support your claim(s) with biblical verse(s).

Otherwise, stop deceiving, deluding and bamboozling unaware people.

Heartbender:
Quote where Jesus said He is of virgin birth. If you don't understand scriptures learn. Did He ever call Mary "mother"?
John 10:30 - " I and the Father are One"
John 14:19.....
These are direct statements of Jesus. Are you satisfied?
If he says " he is of virgin birth", does that mean he is God? No!

Also, if you say he is God just because of John 10 : 30 that says " I and my father are one", then there are so many Gods in the Bible based on another verse in the Bible( John 17, 21:22) where Jesus himself was referring to his twelve disciples that "you (disciples) and I are one". Honestly speaking, Jesus was telling them that they should UNITE and become ONE, because, if we are to use that formula : I and my father are one, that's Jesus is God, right? Definitely, the twelve disciples are Gods, because, he said "you (disciples) and I are one, that means the twelve disciples are Gods.

So, my friend, please, stop deceiving deluding unaware people by saying Jesus is God. No! he is not and he can never be one.

And, I challenged you people earlier that you should give us one particular verse in the Bible where Jesus himself has opened his mouth and said " I'm God, or accept me as your personal Lord and Savior".

Therefore, no one should call Jesus God again except you support your claim with biblical verses.

Good day!

Christianity EtcRe: The Lost Books Of The Bible by BroOptimist(m): 8:29am On Oct 08, 2019
ibinaboonline:
What are the lost books of the bible?
Answer: There are no “lost books” of the Bible, or books that were taken out of the Bible, or books missing from the Bible. Every book that God intended to be in the Bible is in the Bible. There are many legends and rumors of lost books of the Bible, but the books were not, in fact, lost. Rather, they were rejected. There are literally hundreds of religious books that were written in the same time period as the books of the Bible. Some of these books contain true accounts of things that actually occurred (1 Maccabees, for example). Others contain some good spiritual teaching (the Wisdom of Solomon, for example). However, these books are not inspired by God. If we read any of these books, such as the Apocryphal ones mentioned above, we have to treat them as fallible religious/historical books, not as the inspired, inerrant Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The gospel of Thomas, for example, was a forgery written in the 3rd or 4th century A.D., claiming to have been written by the apostle Thomas. It was not written by Thomas. The early Christians almost universally rejected the gospel of Thomas as heretical. It contains many false and heretical things that Jesus supposedly said and did. None of it (or at best very little of it) is true. The gospel of Barnabas was not written by the biblical Barnabas, but by an imposter. The same can be said of the gospel of Philip, the apocalypse of Peter, etc. All of these books, and the many others like them, are known as the pseudepigrapha, essentially meaning “falsely ascribed to an author.”

There is one God. The Bible has one Creator. It is one book. It has one plan of grace, recorded from initiation, through execution, to consummation. From predestination to glorification, the Bible is the story of God redeeming His chosen people for the praise of His glory. As God’s redemptive purposes and plan unfold in Scripture, the recurring themes constantly emphasized are the character of God, the judgment for sin and disobedience, the blessing for faith and obedience, the Lord and Savior and His sacrifice for sin, and the coming kingdom and glory. It is God’s intention that we know and understand these themes because our lives and eternal destinies depend upon them. It is therefore unthinkable that God would allow some of this vital information to be “lost” in any way. The Bible is complete, in order that we who read and understand it might also be “complete, and equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Sorry op, the Bible(s) is/are NOT complete at all. Even those professors in Theology are very much aware of the fact. Anyway, if you need biblical proofs or evidence, I'm ready to give you. Good morning!

IslamRe: Despite Obstacles, Islam Continues To Spread by BroOptimist(m): 7:54pm On Oct 07, 2019
true2god:
Sorry bro, the growth of Islam in Europe is 90% as a result of hijra, migration, from Muslim countries to non-muslim countries. Between 1970 and 2019, there is over 10000% increase in migration of Muslims from the Arab and South east Asian world to Europe and these migrants come with their culture.

The second and the third generation migrants, in most cases, retain the religion of their ancestors which is Islam. And since life in Europe and American is easier than life in the Muslim world, most Muslim do not have problems maintaining a very large family; the state welfare system (now the modern jizya) will always pay their bills. Hundreds of thousands of muslim Turkish citizens living in Germany do not like to work because the German government will always pay them free money (jizya) every month as welfare.

If you can colllect free money as the best of mankind (the ummah) from the kafir ((the worst of creatures), why won't you migrate to their lands? So the 'growth' has nothing to do with conversation, though a very very insignificant number of natives do convert and most later leave, but it all has to do with Muslim migration to non-muslim lands where there is religious freedom (no religious freedom in many Muslim lands).
Lol. I laugh in Chinese. What ignorance and hypocrisy! Anyway, you said " though a very very insignificant number of natives do convert and most later leave ". It is better for you to have a rethink and come to Islam before it is too late and stop deceiving yourself.

MetaPhysical:
Meles,
Are you aware that Lord Lugard is the one that turned Kaduna to Hausa controlled state?

That dude is a basterd!

The first capital of Northern region was Lokoja. They moved it to Kontagora briefly. Finally they moved it to Kaduna.

He robbed the indigenes rights on their land.

Britain took missionaries North but the Fulanis told them they cannot evangelize their faith past the Kataf line. They drew a line for them. So their missionaries succeeded in converting Katafs, Kajes into Christianity but then put the faithfuls of Jesus Christ, who they told are going to heaven by accepting Jesus, under the control of Fulani jihadists.

Not only that...my Yoruba leaders make me very angry sometimes. The symbol of Arewa is Yoruba owned. It is one of the signage of Yoruba dynasty. There are pictures of Yoruba buildings and even of our Obas and Crowns, dating back as far white people began recording film and photograph in Nigeria, on the embroidery you will see the knot....and this is far back into like 1890s Its a knot! You cannot see any picture or film from North or of any Emir with a picture of the knot before 1956.

So how did it become a symbol in North?

West had traditional symbols in different dimensions and artistry.
North had none. According to them Islam forbids symbolization of non-Islamic arts. Bloody Governor McPherson was looking for a symbol, a political totem to give them for representation. He took the Yoruba symbol and gave to them to use. This is how that symbol has stayed with them to date.

I believe Yoruba can reclaim it. But I know my leaders our Omoluabi is fanatical sometimes and they would rather not care.

If i take you to sea and tell in daytime you to point North you should do so correctly. You find where the sun is located at that particular time. Using sun as reference you will find North.

At night time if i ask you to point East, how do you find it? grin

Thats the secret behind that Yoruba knot! grin grin

In Yoruba it is actually called Arewa! Yes, Arewa is in Yoruba language. It denotes the NORTH STAR!
So the knot is one of the articles of covenant from our ancestral history.

At sea, and at night, if you can spot the North Star you can navigate smoothly as if it was daytime...

Nicon77:
Hello all,

There is a tractorable 150acres of land available.
I need partners/investors for cassava farming on this land.
I am a practical farmer and management is not an issue.
I have a cassava factory (Garri,elubo and pupuru) that will offtake the tubers so no real concern on how to sell it off.

This is the analysis for an acre/year
Land lease=6k
Ploughing=6k
Second ploughing=6k
Herbicides=6k
Herbicides application=2k
Cassava stems=6k
Cassava planting =3k
Fertilizer=half bag 4k
Fertilizer application=2500
First weeding(herbicides)=5k
Application=2500
Second weeding=9k
Transport and other logistics=10
Total=68k

Revenue estimation
1 acre is expected to produce a minimum of 10 tonnes .
Since we will be processing;
4 tonnes of tubers =1 tonne of Garri
So 10 tonnes will produce a minimum of 2.5 tonnes.
A tonne of Garri in my factory is presently sold at 98k
2.5tonnes=245k

The total charges for me on processing 1 tonne from 4 tonnes is 19k
2.5 tonnes=
That's the minimum I have sold....May Garri price increases

Profit projection=245k-68k-47500
=129500
