Islam for Muslims / Re: Is Islam A Religion Of Violence? by BroOptimist(m): 10:25am On Oct 01, 2019
seguntijan:

Do you know that if you mistakenly or unintentionally kill (manslaughter) someone in Islam you must pay #62.8 million as compensation (Diyah) to the family of your victim?

So, how can such religion encourage violence and terrorism in the name getting virgins as a reward in paradise? Think about it carefully.

How can you use the mischievous and gruesome acts of less than 5% individuals out of about 2 billion Muslims we have all over the world to justify what Islam really entails as a religion? If Islam is a religion of terrorism, won't the world be in chaos right now? How can we actually handle the violence of 2 billion people at the same time? Many of you have Muslims as friends and relatives? How many times has he/she showed any violent behavior to you, maybe he used a gun or knife to threaten you? Can you actually stand in front of a real terrorist and accuse him of terrorism?

Or you just want to choose what you want to believe in, irrespective of whether it is authentic or false

Try to sit down, ponder and research more about what Islam really entails. Don't limit your knowledge to what the media present to you, they only select and pinpoint what they want you to hear, don't be brainwashed.

Just because you are not an adherent of a religion doesn't mean all what they say about them is correct. How can a religion that says "whoever kill a soul, it is as if he killed the entirety of the mankind" be described as a religion of terrorism

The Qur'an says:

مَن قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا

..if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind.

What you don't know is that, the terrorists in order to carry out there nefarious acts, feigned the understanding on the Qur'anic texts,

While we can not deny or expunge some Qur'anic verses that command the Muslims to kill their enemies, It is important to study the Quran or religious texts in its proper and natural context. When they are not read in their proper, textual and historical context, it will be easily twisted and distorted. There are many biblical verses that talk about killing as well, does that now automatically make Christianity a religion of terrorism? These are examples of some them:-

"… *you shall not leave alive anything that breathes. But you shall utterly destroy them. Deuteronomy 20: 16 *(Read it from 10-18)*

*"You must destroy (consume) all the peoples the Lord your God gives over to you"* Deuteronomy 7:16

*Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves.* (Numbers 31:17-18)

"Of the three texts, the content in the Old Testament appears to be the most violent."Killing and destruction are referenced slightly more often in the New Testament (2.8%) than in the Quran (2.1%), but the Old Testament clearly leads—more than twice that of the Quran—in mentions of destruction and killing (5.3%)."

https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/books/violence-more-common-in-bible-than-quran-text-analysis-reveals-a6863381.html

This is an article from " the Independent"...

While you wouldn't see Muslims tagging Christianity as a religion of violence due the numerous biblical verses that talk about "killing" .. It is pathetic that many Christian leaders and the media are using different Qur'anic verses to blackmail Islam, tagging it a religion of violence just to score cheap religious points. Even though, the verses were directed exclusively to Prophet Muhammad and his companions during the early advent of Islam to defend themselves against intense persecutions from their enemies. It is pertinent to note that, the glorious Qur'an is a sacred book that cannot be interpreted by laymen, even a professor of Arabic Language born in Saudi Arabia must never interpret the Quran by his logic understanding. To interpret the Qur'an, you must study the history and exegesis of Qur'an (Tafseer), this is a field of study that scholars spent years to pursue.

Conclusively, the above points are just few points among many to demystify the claims of many, that Islam is a religion of Violence. I know many Muslims who can't hurt even an ant or mosquito, not to talk of a human being. Islam is a religion of peace and nothing else, that is why whenever you come across a Muslim, the first word he is going to utter is "Asalamualykum Warohmatullah Wabarakatuhu" that is may Allah's peace, mercy and blessings be upon you.

JazzakumAllahu Khairan for this useful information and enlightenment.

Though, it requires deep and quick thinking, the questions are very simple.

1. 14*3/6

2. 5*y /20= 1

5y/20 = 1

5y = 20

y = 20/5

y = 4.

Religion / Re: A Devoted Muslim Should Explain /interpret This Quran Verse To Me by BroOptimist(m): 10:12am On Sep 24, 2019
Yakade:
Quran 47:4

So, When you meet the infidels, smite their necks until you overpower them, killing and wounding many of them. At length, when you have thoroughly subdued them, bind them firmly, making (them) captives. Thereafter either generosity or ransom until the war lays down its burdens. Thus are you commanded by God to continue carrying out Jihad against the unbelieving infidels until they submit to Islam .

Can you also give us explanations to these Biblical verses by using Holy Spirit

1 " go now and kill the people of Amalekit. Kill men and women, kill infants, young and old. Kill Dog, goats, cats, cows, donkeys camels etc. Don't ever spare anyone of them... " 1 Samuel 15:3.

2 " A sword is sharpened polished to flash like a lightening and to be put in a hand of a killer" Ezekiel 21:11.

3 Your Bible reports that Jesus says that " all my enemies that don't want me to reign over them bring them here and slay(kill) them. The book of Luke 19:27.

4 Also, according to your Bible claim to be word of God, Jesus says " don't ever think I brought PEACE to this World, I didn't come to bring PEACE, rather a SWORD". This can be found in the book of Matthew 10:34.
Now, I want you and your likes to use Holy Spirit to explain or Interprete those biblical verses to us.

This is just the beginning. The more you people say rubbish about Islam, the more I expose you.

Investment / Re: MURIC Director Proposed Ummah Development Funds by BroOptimist(m): 9:16am On Sep 24, 2019
Kagarko:
*AKINTOLA PROPOSES UMMAH DEVELOPMENT FUND (UDF)*

*(REVISED VERSION)*

In a lecture delivered by Professor Ishaq Akintola, the director of the Muslim Rights Concern at the Annoor Mosque, Abuja, on Saturday 21st September, 2019, he opined that although Nigerian Muslims have the right to go on hajj as many times as they wish, in reality, hajj is only expected to be performed once in a lifetime.

However, he said, Nigerian Muslims overdo it by going on hajj and Umrah every year. According to Akintola, those who do so earn more rewards from Allah but they end up making Saudi Arabia richer while Nigeria becomes poorer.

Akintola added, "It is time for strategic thinking. There is no time to lose. Muslim leaders must establish the Ummah Development Fund (UDF) in order to improve the economic condition of Nigerian Muslims.

"While those Muslims who go on hajj and Umrah every year should be allowed to do so because they are merely exercising their Allah-given fundamental human right of freedom of worship as entrenched in Section 38 (i) & (ii) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, they should be made to contribute to the Ummah Development Fund.

"Those going on hajj or Umrah for the second, third or more times should be made to pay to the Ummah Development Fund. Anyone repeating hajj should pay 5% of the total cost as his contribution to the UDF while those repeating Umrah should pay 13%.

"Disbursement of UDF should go to the education, health, humanitarian and economic sectors of Nigerian Muslims in this manner : 60% to education (establishment of more Islamic universities); 20% to health (establishment of Muslim hospitals); 10% to humanitarian services (for taking care of Muslim widows, orphans and other vulnerable Muslims) and 10% to investments (building of halal hotels and other businesses).

"However, those who have never performed hajj or Umrah before should be exempted.

Laying more emphasis on his analysis, Akintola asked, "Where are Muslim hospitals? How many Islamic universities are in Nigeria? The total number of universities in Nigeria is 170. Out of this number, the Federal Government has 43, the state governments have 48 and 79 are private universities.

Buy the real tragedy is that out of the 79 private universities, only six (6) belong to Muslims. Muslim students are persecuted in those private universities which are owned by non-Muslims. They are forced to attend church services. Female Muslim students are not allowed to use hijab. Muslim students are denied the right to form Islamic associations like MSS. They are not allowed to observe salat as no space is allocated to mosques. Yet Nigerian Muslims continue to snore loud in their sleep. Who did this to Nigerian Muslims?

Akintola also added the Zakat angle to his proposed UDF.

"As at today, only those states practicing Shari'ah are collecting zakat officially. But what of millions of Muslims in the other states?

"I therefore suggest that Muslim communities in those remaining states should organise voluntary payment of zakat to be managed by tested and trusted Muslim leaders in their states. Zakat funds collected in the states should be used in the same manner as those collected on hajj and Umrah.

Akintola lamented the poor condition of Nigerian Muslims.

He said, "Too many Muslims are suffering. Employers of labour discriminate against Muslim job seekers. I am constrained to single out Muslim women whose employability is at the lowest level due to the Islamic dress code of hijab.

"The divinely ordained use of hijab often makes it impossible for Muslim women who use hijab to get jobs. For instance, the army, police, NDLEA, customs, immigrations advertised for recruitments this year (2019) but Muslim women in hijab could not apply.

"Let me quickly respond to the question raised by a member of the Abuja chapter of MURIC in his online contribution to the issue of UDF during this lecture. The brother suggested that I personally or MURIC as a group should coordinate UDF.

"I have responded by telling him and other members of MURIC in Abuja Chapter that it means UDF is dead on arrival.

"The question we should ask ourselves is : should MURIC or Akintola arrogate this UDF idea to himself or itself? I say a capital NO. Let all Muslims have access to it, analyse it, adopt it or reject it. Posterity will judge.

"I therefore propose the establishment of a UDF COMMITTEE in which all major Islamic organizations in the country will have one representative each. Members of this committee will propose a Board of Trustees (BOT) who will manage the fund.

"The BOT membership, hopefully, will include tested and trusted Muslims like Mallam Adamu Adamu (current Minister of Education), Mallam Ahmed Ali (current head of customs) and Professor Ishaq Oloyede (current head of JAMB).

"Finally, I call on the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) to take the bull by the horn by requesting for nominations from major Islamic organizations throughout the country.

"I put the responsibility on the wide shoulders of the NSCIA because it is the only umbrella organization for Muslims in Nigeria. It therefore has indisputable locus standi. Nevertheless, NSCIA is advised to hands off the team once it has been set up. The BOT of the UDF can only perform effectively if it is independent.

"This suggestion for the establishment of Ummah Development Fund is capable of lifting millions of Nigerian Muslims out of poverty, ignorance and disease.

"I urge Muslim leaders and Muslim elites to embrace it in the interest of coming Muslim generations. This is our legacy to unborn Muslim children. To ignore it is to incur the wrath of young Muslims who are already getting frustrated anyway. They are already asking : how did the affair of Nigerian Muslims get so worse? Why are we the dregs of society? What were our fathers doing? Why did they allow this to happen to us?"

PLEASE SHARE AMONG MUSLIM INDIVIDUALS, MUSLIM GROUPS & ISLAMIC ORGANISATIONS

JazzakumAllahu Khairan to the Professor Ishaq Akintola. It's a very good welcome idea. I think, if it can be done as rightly said, it will go along way in relieving the different sorts of sufferings that Nigerian Muslims are encountering on a daily basis.

The University of Lagos, has said it did not approve the banner which had the Caretaker Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in Lagos State, Musiliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, as one of the invited guests for a programme on the campus.

The university management, in a statement on Friday, September 20th dismissed the reactions trailing the invitation on the social media as mere propaganda. UNILAG had been attacked on social media on Thursday for inviting the transport union leader to the campus.

On Twitter, in particular, many had wondered why MC Oluomo was honoured with an invitation when a former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, was barred from addressing students when he was invited for a similar gathering a few weeks earlier.

https://gisthubnaija.com/we-did-not-approve-poster-with-mc-oluomos-photo-unilag/

The UNILAG Principal Assistant Registrar, Communication Unit, Mrs Taiwo Oloyede, confirmed that the event was organised by students in the Geography Department of the school and that it held on Tuesday.

She said, “The management of the University of Lagos hereby notifies parents, guardians and other stakeholders of the university that it is aware of the event to which the Lagos State Caretaker Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Akinsanya, was allegedly invited.

“The event was a colloquium on ‘Transport Efficiency: Employing Lagos Terrain Alternatives.’ organised by the National Association of Geography Students (NAGS) on Tuesday, September 17, 2019. “Relevant stakeholders in the transport sector invited to the event were: Arc. Abiodun Dabiri, MD, Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA); Engr. Ibrahim Alhassan, Chairman, Nigerian Railway Corporation; Dr. Olusegun Spencer, Director, Amalgamated Mega-City Transport; Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, MD, Lagos Waterways Authority; Dr. Adewale Sanni, Station Manager, Lufthansa and Dr. Charles Asenime, LASU School of Transport, PG Coordinator.

“Although Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) was one of those to be invited, which informed the draft banner with his picture, currently trending on social media; the approved banner did not have Alhaji Akinsanya as an invited guest, neither did he attend the event.

“For the record, events are organised on campus to expose students to current trends in the academia and industries. During such events, experts and relevant stakeholders with considerable knowledge and experience on the theme of such activities are carefully selected and invited to come and share their thoughts with our students. The goal is to produce students that are locally relevant and globally competitive. Therefore, the general public is enjoined to disregard any propaganda making the rounds on social media about the propriety of inviting a particular guest or not.”

Politics / Re: Confusions About The Presidential Election Tribunal Judgment by BroOptimist(m): 11:07pm On Sep 18, 2019
senatordave1:
Many nigerians mostly pdp apologists are still confused about the pept judgment or ruling.some are saying that only an affidavit is needed to show that one is qualified and that one can just swear affidavit and lay claim to any qualification.they even went further to allege that the judges said that no qualification or certificate is needed to even contest for an elective post or to apply for a job.
This goes to show that most nigerians maybe superficially educated but do not know much about our electoral laws, laws in general or even political events.they believe in perception rather than fact.the perception is that buhari doesn't have waec and is therefors not qualified.this is an erroneous belief.they also believe that the judges were induced not minding the quality of the judgment.

To set the record straight, the tribunal simply followed constitutional provisions in arriving at their ruling.the constitution gave three qualifications one can have which are education up to ssce level or its equivalent and it went ahead to give us a clue about what the equivalent are.the judges rightfully said that being educated in any military school is an equivalent of scce and buhari is qualified.it also said primary school certificate in combination with being literate or serving in any public capacity for up to 5 years or overseas training or seminars.on this ground, buhari is qualified.it also said any other qualification accrptable to inec.inec and the judges said buhari being a retired general,a former head of state and even attending staff college jaji form part of this.

Looking at the case of the affidavit, the judges said that atiku didnt prove that buhari lied.moreover the affidavit was sworn in 2014 and the timeline has elapsed plus the army were never called to testify in court and they never said that buhari never submitted his documents to them.

Some people even said that the judges took side with apc and spoke like buhari lawyers and even went to look for evudences for buhari.this shows that nigerians do not follow election tribunals nor read past judgments.legal procedures demands that once a judge or judges take a position, they must adduce enough reasons and quote several authorities and precedents to justify it.in many cases when the supreme court gave their rulings, they usually fix another date to provide their reasons since giving reasons is not a tea party.

Personally, the ruling is 95% correct and will easily be upheld.the only issues i have with it are minor and are not fatal.i feel that the judges shouldn't say that aged oeople cannot lie, this is erroneous and false.i also feel that the judges could have cancelled a few units which had fictitious ruling instead of saying that the electoral act prohibits them from doing that afterall a high court judge in 2014 struck out that particular subsection and it was never contested.but since the pept is a superior court, there in order here.kudos to the judiciary.

You should be able to think twice before you throw a tantrum. Haven't you and your likes seen these verses in the Bible before :

* The Bible reports that Jesus says " and all my enemies that do not want me to reign over them bring them here and slay them before me" Luke 19:27.

* Your Bible Jesus says " don't think I came to this World to bring peace, I didn't come to this World to bring peace rather a Sword" Matthew 10:34.

* See another one, " a sword is sharpened polished to flash like lightning to be put in a hand of a killer" Ezekiel 21:11.
* Also in the Bible we read that " go now to the people of Amalakite , totally destroy all they have. Don't spare anybody's life. Kill men, women, infants, kill donkeys, camel... ". 1 Samuel 15:3. Thank God, all these evil verses are not found in our Noble Quran. And, for your information, all those verses you quoted above, are absolutely not what in the Quran.

Politics / Re: Osun Election: Our Deal With Omisore, By Oshiomhole by BroOptimist(m): 10:35am On Sep 29, 2018
otherway:
A terrible narrative.

"The PDP leadership surrendered Osun.

When it came to crunch time, the PDP let Adeleke down. He must have felt like an orphan

Almost everyone knew Omisore would be vital. You can ask the US embassy. The PDP sent no one. Saraki went with Okupe who is just coming out of retirement. Saraki's entourage had looked rich until the APC visited Omisore.

The APC showed desperation. And put its birthright on the line. The party chairman was there. 6 governors went with him. They must have seen the chickens offered at that shrine by the PDP. And they must have offered cows.

Even if Omisore were a pastor.

The PDP chairman was in Wike's boyquarters in Port Harcourt. Wike himself was not interested. He is peering down his political microscope looking for the most painful ways to deal with the party if they mess with him.

Okowa didnt show up. Fayose was working out his exit route. Even that refugee , the governor of Kwara, didn't show up.

They left it to Davido and his uncle.

The APC meticulously took back Lasun whose intimidating influence in Orolu LGA was proved last week. While the APC patched up its net, the PDP ran helter skelter, from pillar to post and then to court.

It was injury time.

Even Fani Kayode who is from Ife was nowhere to be seen. He must have been in Abuja. From there he was calling Omisore. And must have warned him not to join hands with the Fulani jihadists! He saw no need to lend a helping hand in knocking at doors for Adeleke. But he will take to twitter today and let out emotions.

Where was Ben Bruce? Where was his love for the party?
He was tweeting it from Abuja while Ganduje was sleeping in Ile Ife.

We can forgive Dino Melaye. He is not sure of his own ticket yet. But where were Gbenga Daniel and Atiku?

Atiku was needed in Orolu!

These social media noises cant help anyone.

The leaders of the PDP failed Adeleke. And they failed him big time.

But you know what ? They will blame it on Buhari."

God bless you for this thought provoking write up.
