i enrolled all the books at kdp select and I am currently working on the fourth one. But I wanna clarify something. I just checked Amazon and saw the following:
1)my first book:bacterial infections is ranked 5 in top 100 free of basic science and 7,568 in Amazon bestsellers.i just got one review too.
2)my second book:kidney and bladder health is ranked 1 in top 100 free of basic science and 6,978 in Amazon bestsellers. no reviews
3)my third book:pet maintenance is ranked 22 in top 100 free of animal care and pets and 13,683 in Amazon bestsellers. no reviews
should I start panicking?

No dont panick. It seems you put your book for free for some days. The review is helpful. Start working on the CreateSpace version asap. Don't make the mistake i just made today. I offered one of my books free today and guess what, got about 550 downloads. i wish i had created the paperback version so those folks can at least consider buying it.

I cant tell why u dont have a sale yet. i usually sell at least 2 books a day, sometimes 9, sometimes 8, sometimes 3. But I just found out I sell two book a day, compulsorily. Though I have 14 books, working on the 15th one. Maybe u should look at the niche u are writing on. If its so crowded with experts you may take time to break into it. any links to your books so we can take a look and judge better.

I just read your blurb on Amazon...and I must say; it was very very interesting and well thought out . I give you that. But with 40pages at $7 I doubt you will be making much sales. I would like to read it...but can I put down $7 for a 40page book about a fantastically curropt country...then answer is No. I can probably guess what happens in such a country and still hit 9/10. So I might be wrong but I feel your price is going to kill it.

I just downloaded the kindle version. will read it. the KD version is 0.99 and its 35 pages. not bad. its the hard copy that is $7

Besides you seem to be forgetting that we are in the quantity business on amazon. Put out as much of anything as you can, so that if you only sell 1 book out of 100 books in a month, that's a sure $100.

If anyone wants to be offended and not buy, that's cool. At least one person in this world will. Wasn't written for one person alone.

Well, I guess I didnt do research on things like that. You know, we have this natural instinct to fight for our own outside here. Even though I dont like our leaders with passion, I just cant afford to talk about our problems outside. That was just my emotions. And I still dont think I'll repent from that. Sorry.

It turns out the book is 140 pages. I dont think that was 58k words really. That should be about 17,000 words book. I just published a 22,000 words book that ended up as 160 pages.

I also noticed that you are dragging the release of the book,its still on pre-order, i dont know why, but then, God bless your hustle. I think I like the title

I just put tow books on createspace. Its mainly kindle. The other sites like kobo and others are just a waste of time to me.

Non fiction outsells short stories. Though fiction people sell more, its pretty hard to break into that niche. I do non fiction.

How many downloads did you get yet? I think you shouldnt have spent all your 5 days of free promo. I use it like 1 day - 1 day - 1 day. That way i can always have something to give out that advertises my other books.

Good work bro. Good work. I think you can redo the cover. The image is blocking everything there. Your description is too short. You should consider re-doing it with enough keywords in your niche.

Also the pricing - for a 35 page book priced at $3.95, those oyibos will feel cheated I suggest you test the price and consider review later on

About having so many books on Amazon, its good but my first book is at 51,000 words and 13 chapters. I will be rounding up by months end. By then it may be up to 60,000 words...

So having many books on KDP may be slower for me because I'm not writing HOW TO books which are usually very short.

I hear some people saying they have 30 books already on KDP...pls I want to ask...do those books have up to 30,000 words each or 60,000 words...I doubt; but if they do pls hint me so I can sit up abeg.

Your books can be as short as 6,000 words which will be about 60 pages. I have seen shorter pages, but I usually recommend that number, 10,000 is best. Some of the amazon bestsellers there are not more than 200 pages.

You are aiming 60,000 words! What!. You really have time. That will end up as 500-600 pages and unless you are some kind of miracle worker, you'll still price this book at $2.99. And because of the size amazon will charge you higher in the delivery.

Personally i don't think this is worth it. Even some of the best novels on amazon are still around 30,000 words which will give about 300 pages in the end. I would suggest you separate this book into different parts or volumes. That could give you up to 3 volumes.

A friend of mine wrote a book on relationship, about 28,000 words. We broke it into two parts and got over 120 pages in each.

Anyway, I wish you success bro. Dont forget to update us. We are all learning.

What do you know about KDP Select? I'm contemplating trying it out. Though I haven't enrolled yet. My title is on pre-order now; to drop Sept 30th.

If it drops and I don't get a bleep on my report graph after some days I will eroll for select and wait out the 90 days gestation period. Maybe that will give it the required boast. Plus my next book is mentioned in this first one... That's a plus I think!

Why are you making your book on preorder, are you formating for createspace?. You need to publish a lot of books to really make money on this thing. KDP select is very good. Enroll all your books there and do two or three days promo for each. Make sure that in each book on promo, there is information about the other books.

It seems we both started roughly the same day. I have 5 books up but make most of my sales through 2. infact one book has sold over 70 copies though it's priced at 0.99 cos I played around and discovered it did better at that price point.

Bro, teach us how you have managed to sell 70 copies of a book in one month. Some oyibo people cant even do that. Though I just hate that 0.99 price point. I hate it like the devil. Thanks
