u didnt say where u are
or how old the toddler is

if ure in nigeria peak123 is good for the todler asper milk
as for the food you could steam green peas, diced carrots and mash it up and give the tod to eat
mashed potatoes with a dash of milk works
shredded chicken/meet with lil or no spice

asper the ugu i usually make the seller cut it for me
when i get home i dont rinse
i just put into ziploc bags and put in d deep freezer
make sure it never thaws o (i mean the freezer)
ive kept it for almost a month or more that way

cheers

FoodRe: Nigerian Foods That One Can Eat If Watching Weight by browncocos(f): 1:02pm On May 27, 2010
adetoru:
It's noi easy oh but I lost weight by reducing my food portions
true that
i was 60kg after having my baby
and am back to 50kg pre-baby weight, since baby was 5mos
and all i did was reduce my portions
the 1st week was the hardest cause youll be a lot hungry
ill suggest u make vegetable salad and coleslaw and eat when ure feeling hungry

pls reduce your mayo n salad cream intake coz dey r fattening,
reduce i said less is more

you can make several kinds of salad

the reg salad with cucumber, onions, green pepper, carrots, lettuce et al

u can add chunks of pineapple to add sweetness,
chunks of apples
or add some chicken strips to the salad

or almonds
or dried raisins

just so you dont get tired of eating salad all the time

cheers

FL Gators:
My suggestion. . . . y'all should stop using all these products.

Since I stopped, never seen a pimples.

Simply use dudu osun to clean off the make-up with a facial sponge. Then moisturize jare [And exfoliate]. All these chemicals, as if the producers wants these problems to go away, you think them no wan continue to make money?
makes a lot of sense
i started using dudu osun again and the first 2 weeks was horrible
it gave me break outs like mad
after 2 weeks it cleared up and i dont've problem skin again
i just wash morning n night with it

ive had enof already!

"I need a well to do woman (AGE DOESNT MATTER) that needs a strong-willed, sexy, business oriented and hardworking man for support and dating only. Am 42, dont look it, strong and sexually active, married but my woman seems to be the laziest in the world. I work so hard to keep the family going and where I need her support she starts well and frizzle out in few weeks. I have established her in businesses 4 times with capital ranging from N100k to N2m and she has nothing to show for it, all 4 attempts failed. Now she is involved in my business only to abscond every now and then. I think I need to have a feel of a striving and success oriented woman. If anyone is interested please send me a private mail to gfhotee@yahoo.com" huh

@ Moody Lay
I'm 31 years old and have lived all my life in naija. I travel out only for the holidays, only during summer, and I never stay more than three weeks - 'cos I end up missing home.

I LEARNED about using sunscreen to protect my skin when I was about 16 - then I never missed any edition of Cosmo - thanks to my big sis. (  cool cool some of us at home naijas really dont need to leave to be exposed  cool cool cool). But then I thought sunscreen was for the oyinbos as per their skin is so delicate and prone to aging. I never for the life of me thought that dear old african skin needed any special care. I actually thought all I needed was to play with make up and I'll be fine. Now however, I'm a lot wiser. The earlier u take care of your skin, the longer it'll look better.

I know ure not recommending bleaching products for anyone, I neveer said u did. I only have a problem with your implied assumption, that if i want to get rid of dark grey shades it means i'm trying to ", use different soap or cream to lighten their face undecided undecided"

The topic of this thread actually stresses BRIGHTENING as opposed to lightening.

Like Suze says, naija has harsh sun all year round. Depending on where u are, u may need as much as an spf45 sunscreen, and those things are not even pleasant to use! imagine putiing that gunk OVER your regular face creme shocked!!

Again, this thread is to help us dark skin beauties explore what works for black skin. A lot of info out there is for caucasians and asians. This is just a simple home-grown opportunity to share and help ourselves. So ladies please keep the skin and product info coming. Lets not turn this thread into a scoring ground.

Meanwhile cool cheesy I had a local body polish treatment this weekend - WOW-. Its called halawa, done by hausa natives. It involved taking ALL the hair off my body with some sort of sugar dough - like 100 times less painful than sugar waxing!! then my body was scrubbed down with a local scrub (I'll get the ingredients list) and then I was POLISHED head to toe with a fragranced tumeric concotion. U wont believe the effect - I no fit shout!!!! So good I'm going to post the details here! The defuzzing must done by an expert sha, but the scrub and polish can be easily achieved by DIY. Amazing what local remedies can do for the skin - talk about Spa Experience - and for just 3k!!! grin grin grin
PS - It was done in my bedroom so I just walked into my bathroom and showered off.

Please also post any local remedies here o cheesy grin cheesy
hi there i am so interested in the massage
pls where are you based
and can you get the cell no of the people that do it?
thanks

hi all
i keep forgetting to do a review on some hair products that worked amazing for me
FashionRe: Product Reviews: Stop Wasting Money! Beauty Products That Actually Work by browncocos(f): 8:23am On Mar 30, 2010
gianni:
y-jay,spikedcylinder,browncocos,mad-max and everyone,great job!

gone through the whole thread and i,still,am confused.

i'm dark-skinned and have an oily skin (extremely oily).i was using cucumber facial wash (boots),aapri exfoliating scrub and clean and clear cleanser.then i visited a skin therapist, she uses natural ingredients.and she concocted this wash.it really reduced the oil on my face and made my complexion brighter but i started breaking out.used it for like 3weeks and the pimples just didn't go away.
now someone else has placed me on neutrogena transparent facial bar.the oil-secretion is now in 10-folds and the acne is still there.
pls,pls,pls ladies,what do i do?

i got mary kay timewise day solution SPF25 and night solution as gifts.scared of using them.should i proceed or not?
thanks for your help!
i wish i could really help u
but oiliness is not my forte
one advise visit the clinique aisle if ure outside the country
i am 100% certain they ll find a solution for you
btwn clinique might seem costly but i realised a little goes a long way
and ill say if it works u should stick to it as an investment

all the best

btw u can buy clinique products off-ebay for like 70% off retail price

cheers
