Omo you dey on your own oh cool

Meaning what?  The training slot lost isn't my fault. Like You said they should fast track their recruitment process. Having being advised by the Head of Manpower resourcing of Inter to apply for a training waiver and she will treat it within 3 days, what happened after I applied? Its almost a month now, just to approve an application. I should sit down and wait? Moreover, Inter's training can not be compared with the one I had gone through. so why should I go through the training again? Because of 100K? Besides, Training is not a guaranty of employment, You could be bolted out at the slightest guf. I had to make a head way with my career which of course is not dependant on one bank alone.

Am happy in Skye. The atmosphere is cordial and harmonious. The pay is better compared to others. With the increase it is better than Inter. I can as well switch to any other bank if I want when I must have gathered the experience required which has started counting by the grace of God.

Hope You will be invited soon.

Take care and all the best

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL NAIRALANDERS!!!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Next Batch Of Intercontinental Bank Training? by bruce(m): 3:52pm On Mar 08, 2008
Hello House,

For those that are asking, the invitation came via an sms and was later followed by a call from someone @ the HR. Training is to commence on Monday the 10th @ the UAC training Centre, Apapa and will last for 10weeks (2months + 2weeks)

For those also invited, Congratulations to all of you!!! cheesy

For those yet to be invited, be patience, prayerful and above all get busy. I wish to say here once again that because of the long list of people waiting that have completed their medicals from all the various zones, there are chances that some will not be called until about 4months or more from now. I dont wish anybody that anyway, but that is the simple truth.
Why am I saying this? So that anybody who did not hear from them now should not just sit at home waiting for them. Go out, look for something doing, no matter how small, while awaiting your invitation. Because from all indication, this invited batch will finish by the grace of God in May. But a new batch will be invited probably in the 1st week of April to replace those that started on the 21st of January and will finish from the Centre @ Bode Thomas Street. This is because training for each batch last up to 3months. Except, if those @ the Ikeja training school finishes in between or a new training school is established. Am saying this base on facts and experience, and not to scare anyone but to enable u face the unexpected when it comes. Otherwise frustration go wan kill U for house waiting and doing nothing. Wishing U a fruitful expectation!!!

NOW, MY DILEMMA:
I got another offer from SKYE about 2weeks ago while waiting for INTER. I will not have to go for training in Skye ( for reasons I will not want to disclose) but will do that in Inter. I am expected to report to both Banks on Monday (the 10th) morning: For Skye to collect my deployment letter and proceed to resume work; while for Inter to collect my offer letter and resume training.

Pay for both Banks is not the issue here, but job stability(security), career development (advancement) and conditions of work. Which of these 2 Banks does the house advise me to go for? Pls advise wisely for this is very crutial to me.

For those yet to get a job, do not faint for your miracle is on the way. Keep the fire burning and don't ever give up.

Thanks and One Love!

@guyman2
Brother take it easy for I didnt mean any harm. You said you heard, and lastly asked: "Any contrary information?" That implies you are not sure.
Besides, I only said we need concrete info not speculations about when training will commence in order to stop giving people false hope and impression.

That should not make you to stop doing good and helping the house if you can.

@guyman2
Where did U receive ur medical letter b4 proceeding to Havana? Pls we need concrete info about dis training and not speculations.

@Em-Em and Tunji_lana

In addition, study ur CV properly, hav know of ur course of study and University, place of primary assignment and duties, and a general knowledge of ur state of service, origin and other places u hav been. Have knowledge of the bank, management, product and services, etc. Also know your national and international current affairs: US Elections, Kenya crisis, Chad, etc

Be prepared for anything cos questions could come from anywhere, just be on the alert, be frank, smile and show confidence. Dont forget to pray for God's grace.

Goodluck.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Chams Nigeria Plc Invitation For Test by bruce(m): 4:21pm On Jan 24, 2008
@Obalola77
what is the point in telling the house you wrote the test last year. Only for you to remember to tell us the location of Chams without letting us know what the test you wrote looks like.

Do something & people will appreciate you. Or you want pass alone this time around?

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Next Batch Of Intercontinental Bank Training? by bruce(m): 5:31pm On Jan 23, 2008
@bolaonu
Congrats to you and all the the successful candidate that made it through.

However I think you sounded a bit selfish to say they should wait for you to pass out before inviting people for training considering the fact the there are people on the line that has undergone the recruitment process for almost a year and now waiting to be invited for training. Only for you to pray that they hold on until you pass out.

If you are called upon and you are not yet ready, you can chill and go with the next batch for it is allowed. or better still go for training and subsequently go to collect your discharge cert for it is also possible.

Which other rquirement(s) do you mean for training besides writing and passing the test, scaling through the interview(s) and then being confirmed medically fit after a medical test?
