As the quest for who becomes the next governor of Kogi, “the Confluence State” progresses, one name that has become increasingly popular on the lips of political pundits, lobbyists and electorates, is that of the young, detribalized, liberal, resourceful, purposeful and energetic Barr. Okeme Adejoh, from Egume, in Dekina Local Government Council. He was born to the noble family of Mr. Alexander Okeme and Mrs. Esther Okeme (Iye 1 of blessed memory). Until retirement, Mr. Alexander served in the Kogi State Civil Service, while Late Mrs. Esther spent her life, imparting others as a teacher,a grassroot mobilizer and political influencer. In the Kogi political sphere, the late Iye 1 was likened to “a man in skirt” because of her active participation and mentorship. Okeme Adejoh foundly called the “Black Diamond” by his peers, due to his complexion, tenacity, resourcefulness, influence and understanding of the methods and purpose of adding value to people around him, began his educational life at the L.G.E.A Primary School, Lokogoma, Lokoja, Kogi State, where he obtained his First school Leaving Certificate in 1995. Between 1995 to 1998, he attended the famous Government Science Secondary School, Lokoja, where he sat for his Junior School Certificate Examinations, after which he proceeded to Ochaja Boys Secondary School, Ochaja for Senior Secondary Education. Driven by his Taurus horoscope personality and a passion to impact the society positively, Okeme gained admission to study Law at the Kogi State University, Ayingba, where he graduated with good grades in 2006. Having completed his Nigeria Law School education, at the Lagos Campus, he was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2009. Between 2008 to 2009, he served as Lecturer II, Department of Legal Studies, Federal Polytechnic, Kaduna during his one year National Youth Service. Okeme is widely travelled and has enjoyed a blissful carrier as Lawyer and Solicitor of the Supreme Court, with interests in Corporate Mediation and Negotiations, Criminal and Civil litigation, Debt Recovery, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Property Consultancy, Legal Advisory services, amongst others. The proverbial goldfish they say; has no hiding place. Despite his self effacing and unassuming style, Okeme has held sway as a political underdog, having worked for and supported candidates who have aspired for leadership positions at different levels, within and outside Kogi State. Okeme is happily married with kids and serves as the Principal Partner, at A. A Okeme & Associates, Abuja, as well as the Managing Director, BoldTouch Homes Limited, Abuja. In the Nigerian Industrial Mining and Properties Industry, Okeme has carved a niche for himself as a successful business man and employer of labour, having established and sustained business contacts and ventures across Canada, China and the United Kingdom and have provided employment opportunities for over 300 Nigerian youths, most of whom are indigent Kogi sons and daughters. In a nation where good governance and deliverability of the dividends of democracy to the masses, by many political leaders have become elusive, the onus lies on the Kogi State electorate, to take the destiny of their natural resources rich state in their hands and change the narrative come November 2023, by electing people with the prerequisite administrative acumen, histories of creativity, competency and unblemished credentials. At an objective standpoint, the political savvy Barr. Okeme Adejoh will indeed, be a round peg in the round hole and must be encouraged to exhibit his divine anointing in the overall interest of the State, as the Peoples’ Governor, if given the opportunity. According to Thomas Jefferson, “the government you elect is the government you deserve”. In line with this mantra, it is not out of place therefore, for one to posit that Kogi State deserves better. Having risen by divine providence with a dint of hard work, to become the man he I and what he represents today, is a clear indication of the abundant grace and anointing Okeme exudes. Thus, giving such a man who can be likened to the biblical Joseph, whom God positioned, to provide for his people in the time of need, the opportunity to lead Kogites come November 2023, will no doubt, usher in good tidings in the socio-economic and political landscapes of State. As a man whose network across Kogi is wide and is renowned for his philanthropic gestures cum empowerment of youths and the elderly, Okeme is no doubt, the cynosure among his contemporaries in the Kogi Governorship race. It was Fidel Castro who said that “every generation must out of its relative obscurity discover its own destiny either to achieve or destroy it”. The time has come therefore, for the people of Kogi State not only to discover their own destiny but as a matter of utmost importance achieve it and Make Kogi Work Again, by passing the baton of leadership to Barr. Okeme Adejoh, a man who is mentally, physically and politically fit for the race. Mr. Aliyu Omeiza writes from Okene, Kogi State. |

Since his inauguration as Governor of Lagos State in May 2019, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been working tirelessly to transform the state through various developmental projects. As the 2023 gubernatorial election approaches, it is crucial to take stock of the Governor's achievements and their impact on the people of Lagos. One of Sanwo-Olu's significant achievements is in the education sector, where he has renovated and digitized 243 public secondary school libraries, trained 18,000 teachers under the Eko-Excel program, and equipped 450,000 pupils with e-learning devices to improve the quality of education and make it more accessible. Sanwo-Olu has also invested heavily in infrastructure development, with completed projects like Tedi-Muwo Link Bridge, Lagos-Ogun boundary roads in Alimosho, Agbado-Oke-Odo road project, and Ijede Road Phase 1. He has also installed 3,000km of fiber optic cables throughout the state, attracting over N1 billion in data center investment and job opportunities for young people. The Governor has prioritized healthcare, establishing the infectious disease center and research institute in Yaba, which has played a critical role in the state's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also provided financial support to the entertainment industry during the pandemic, giving N1 billion to support the sector and N200 million in loans to Nollywood filmmakers. Sanwo-Olu has made significant investments in security through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, providing better equipment and resources to security agencies and contributing to a significant reduction in crime rates across the state. Overall, Sanwo-Olu's achievements during his tenure demonstrate his commitment to the development and progress of Lagos State. As Lagosians prepare for the 2023 elections, it is vital to consider the Governor's track record of achievements and vote for continuity and progress https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZoNfTsDtLFs

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the guber candidate for Labour Party (LP) is a disruptive individual with a history of destructive behavior that threatens to upend the status quo. Despite his youth, there are doubts as to whether he possesses the necessary qualities to govern Lagos state. His past political endeavors, including an unsuccessful run for senator and a switch to a different political party, raise questions about his true intentions for Lagosians. Some have speculated that he is a "spoiler" candidate who aims to split the vote and prevent other candidates from winning. Rhodes-Vivour's ties to controversial political figures, such as former military dictator Ibrahim Babangida, have led some to believe that he is a mere puppet for powerful interests and lacks concern for the best interests of the Nigerian people. Additionally, his wife's social media post quoting a controversial statement about Yoruba people from Ibadan being used for genetic studies has raised concerns about his potential use of Lagosians as lab rats for experimental purposes. Furthermore, his comments and tweets have been deemed homophobic, disrespectful, and intolerant. He has used his platform to spread divisive and hateful rhetoric, causing tensions and conflict. Ultimately, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is seen by some as a troublemaker who hides under the guise of activism to incite war against the Yoruba people. His competence is questionable, and his actions could potentially stir up violence and destroy Lagos. It is up to the Nigerian people to decide if they want to vote for him

kettykin:Is it a compliment? |
Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party, made a derogatory remark on Twitter about Pastor Enoch Adeboye, a highly respected pastor and leader of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, in response to his compliment to El-Rufai during a visit. This tweet has generated widespread outrage and debates about the importance of respectful discourse in public conversations. Although some supporters of the Labour Party have defended Rhodes, citing his right to free speech and claiming that his tweet was simply expressing his personal opinion, a significant number of people, particularly the elders, have condemned his language. They believe that insulting a revered public figure like Pastor Adeboye is unacceptable and disrespectful. Furthermore, they see Rhodes' generalization of Yoruba people as those who are known to "lick ass" as a derogatory comment, that insults the entire Yoruba clan Gbadebo's remark is not only harmful but also has the potential to escalate conflicts. It undermines the fundamental principles of civility, tolerance, and mutual respect, which are essential for a healthy and functional society. Making derogatory comments about someone with a differing opinion about others creates an atmosphere of hostility and division. Moreover, as a Yoruba descendant, Gbadebo's comment is both condescending and disrespectful. It demonstrates that he lacks regard for others, which disqualifies him from being a suitable leader. Notable elders in Lagos state have expressed their opinion that Gbadebo is not fit to be the governor of Lagos state due to his lack of respect. Therefore, Lagosians require a leader who can provide good governance, promote respectful discourse in public conversation, and work towards a society that values civility, tolerance, and mutual respect.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxHX3MsOAOg Fafaa Dan Princewill of the Labour Party has urged indigenes and residents of Rivers State to come out en masse to vote on March 11, 2023, stressing that the people must be vigilant to defend their votes at the governorship poll. The Rivers people will not vote for “any anti-democrat who will yield gangster government,” Princewill said. Speaking with journalists yesterday in Port Harcourt, the LP chieftain condemned what he described as anti-democratic posture of some politicians, and wondered why the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reneged on obeying the Electoral Act which duly enshrined electronic transmission of results. He said Rivers people must put an end to the loss of young lives in the state, adding that electoral violence has no place in a decent society and noting that LP is a party for the hope of the present and future generations. “We believed INEC but what we saw was different, the records are there. Everyone is aware. Even the international community has testified that the election did not meet the expectations of Nigerians.” “The BVAS is for both accreditation and uploading of results. That’s what the Electoral Act says but unfortunately that did not happen. “I believe the next election will be different. I want to encourage everyone not to despair. Please, come out and vote massively for LP on March 11th; take pictures of the result sheets, your phone is now your power, record every activity around the polling units. If you don’t come out to vote, you have already voted for the wrong people. Don’t take the election as passing fancy, make sure you vote and defend your vote.” “We must put an end to violence in Rivers State. Electoral violence has no place in a sane society, we must have a new beginning. Labour is a party for the future and party for today. Young people are the future, so you have to survive today to think of the future. We are tired of suffering in this country. “I am the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Rivers State and I want everybody to come out and vote for Labour. Vote for a new beginning in Rivers State.”

Before us is a choice we must make, and this choice will determine the direction of our state for the next 4 years. Before us is the choice between peace and insecurity, between sleeping at night with our two eyes closed and holding our hearts with our hands through the night. There is something we can hold unto, we have the blueprint of a golden vision we can always refer to. There is a track record we can go verify, we have a flourishing ministry and a booming business we can see for ourselves. We must choose not only for the present but also for the future, and we must choose not only for ourselves but also for our friends and family! We must choose not just for what we stand to gain but also for the benefit of our State, and as the Jews decided between Christ and Barabbas, we must decide between a pastor and an offender. We may have been disappointed many times by those we entrusted with our votes and support, but will we rather let one person's shortcomings cloud our judgment and put our future at risk? Let's not throw in the towel yet! We may have been deceived in the past by wolves in sheep's clothing, but shouldn’t we rather give a pastor the benefit of the doubt, than throw caution to the winds and embrace a convict? Let's not crucify the future. Edidiong Ibanga Writes from Afaha Oku in Uyo local government area |

“I Will Continue With Buhari’s Legacies” – Bola Ahmed Tinubu Nigeria’s external debt increased by 291 percent while domestic debt grew by 86 percent. The Country’s debt burden is #30.72 trillion, and the APC plans to borrow an additional #8.4 trillion. 133 million Nigerians became multinationally poor. The Country’s unemployment rate rose to 33.3% — highest in over 13 years. The Country’s inflation rate hits a new 17-year high of 20.77%. Corruption and its practices became all time high. The Country ranks 154 out of 180 countries in Corruption Perceptions Index. Education received no priority. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has gone on cumulative strike days of 584 days in this APC regime. This is the longest since the creation of Nigeria Nigerians witnessed unimaginable insecurity. Over 600 Local Government Areas have experienced deadly attacks, kidnappings, and violent killings. More than one billion Naira paid in ransom. Our economy went into recession thrice. The Country’s economy moved from being the best in Africa, and third growing economy in the world to become a shattered and unsustainable economy. Nigerians are now using Naira to purchase Naira so as to be able to buy goods and services in Naira. Nigerians are experiencing unprecedented hardship, pain, hunger, and even losing loved ones over their inability to access their legitimate monies. This is caused by the poorly implemented monetary policies of the APC government. Nigerians cannot easily purchase premium motor spirit, PMS (Petrol). A litre of petrol now sells for between #250 and #700. Since 2022, motorist now sleep at filling stations. Recall, Over 100 million liters of fuel was imported into the country, were said to be adulterated, containing high methanol quantities. A lot of cars were damaged as a result of the negligence of the APC led regime. Oyewole Michael is a public commentator and political analyst, he writes from Ado-Ekiti.

December 17, 2022 ...Says APC is Plagued by Lying Spirit The Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign has dismissed the attempt by the TInubu/ Shettima Campaign to compare the prosperous years of the PDP to the famished years of the APC in office as a further confirmation that the APC Presidential Campaign is plagued by a Lying Spirit. It is as clear as the sunlight that life in Nigeria was exceptionally better under the PDP before Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his APC beguiled Nigerians and brought in a deceptive, corrupt and incompetent administration that has wrecked our economy and foisted an era of pain, sorrow, anguish and mass killing on our nation It is unfortunate that at a time when Nigerians expect Asiwaju Tinubu to be remorseful and ask for forgiveness, he is going around with another box of lies with which he intends to beguile Nigerians once again. If there is any political party in the world that should never seek for electoral votes because of its many failures, that party is the incompetent, deceptive and insensitive APC. Nigerians are already aware that the Tinubu campaign is trying to divert public attention from its inability to articulate or process issues of governance as well as Asiwaju Tinubu's incapacity to debate either in the media or public space. The continued resort of the TInubu/ Shettima Campaign to diversionary tactic shows Tinubu's acceptance of the superiority of the Candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar. In any case, it is imperative for the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign to know that Nigerians are still waiting for their response to the litany of allegations sorrounding Asiwaju Tinubu's smelly past. The Tinubu/Shettima Campaign should help their principal to address the issues of alleged perjury, forgery, treasury-looting, 6identity theft as well as links with narcotics for which he forfeited a whooping $460,000 to the United States of America. After that, they should help Asiwaju Tinubu to draft a letter of apology to Nigerians for deceiving and making them suffer this much. Signed: Kola Ologbondiyan Spokesperson Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization |
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation cautions Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to face his popular rejection by Nigerians and leave the PDP out of his needless ill-fated squabbling with the media. The Atiku/Okowa Campaign dismisses the defeatist assertion by the APC Presidential Campaign Council (APCPCC) that the PDP was plotting with Arise News to embarrass its deflated candidates, Asiwaju Tinubu and Kashim Shettima. We consider this allegation against the PDP as not only laughable and defeatist but also childish, irresponsible and totally reckless. It is a pathetic acceptance of emptiness and defeat that instead of facing Nigerians through the media, the Tinubu/ Shettima Campaign resorted to unnecessary squabbling, lame excuses and conspiracy theories as part of its scheme to divert public attention from Asiwaju Tinubu ugly past and constant display of vacuity which landmarks his incapacity to hold office as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It is clear that Asiwaju Tinubu is discomfited and has refused to appear in media Town Hall series not only because he has nothing to offer but also because he is afraid to face Nigerians on allegations of fraud, certificate forgery, identify theft and link with narcotics for which he forfeited $460, 000 to the United States of America. Nigerians can recall that Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, were invited to participate in the Arise News anchored Town Hall meeting in the same manner Asiwaju Tinubu was invited. But Asiwaju Tinubu, who has consistently dodged the arena of public debates, turned out to be a constant 'no show.' Moreover, the Tinubu/Shettima is fixated on the PDP because it is dazed by our Candidate, Atiku Abubakar's outstanding performance in media Town Hall series as well as his soaring popularity which has dwarfed Asiwaju in every ramification. Asiwaju Tinubu's handlers, having become frustrated in their quest to market a bad merchandise, have craftily resorted to name-calling, bullying the media and now attempting to drag our party into their pot of mess. It is not the fault of the PDP that Asiwaju Tinubu has no content, that he is haunted by an ugly past and that he has become a butt of joke among Nigerians as well as the international community. If Asiwaju Tinubu still desires to be President, he should make himself available for a Town Hall meeting outside his usual self-organised sessions which often end as "balabu..blublu.. bulaba." …Urges Security Agencies to Put APC Campaign on Watch List The Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization alerts our nation and the International Community of designs being promoted by the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to incite violence and disrupt the smooth conduct of the 2023 Presidential election. This apprehension is heightened by the viral video making the rounds in which Tinubu, having been intimidated by the rising acceptance of the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, across our nation, and knowing that there is no way he can win in a peaceful and credible election, has directed his Party members to put aside decorum and deploy violence in the 2023 general elections. Nigerians were horror-struck to watch the deflated and demystified APC Presidential Candidate inciting his supporters by stating that “political power is not going to be served in a restaurant, it is not served a la carte. It is what we are doing; It is being determined; you do it at all costs; fight for it, grab it, snatch it and run (away) with it” Tinubu’s directive that his supporters should “fight for”, “grab” and “snatch” political power with a confession that “it is what we are doing” validates apprehensions by Nigerians that the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign is behind the attacks on the campaign rallies of the PDP as well as the series of arsons on the facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). It is now clear that the Tinubu/Shettima’s Campaign is in bitter condemnation of INEC’s decision to deploy the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and Results Viewing Portal as a ploy to incite their thugs against INEC, having realized that the direct transmission of election results will scuttle APC’s rigging plans. Moreover, the inciting comment by Tinubu substantiates the suspicion by Nigerians that the alarm raised by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Major General Lucky Irabor, concerning pressures on the military to compromise the electoral process is pointing towards the direction of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign. Nigerians can now understand why the APC Presidential Candidate avoided the signing of the Peace Accord; why he has not condemned or issued any caution against acts of violence linked to members of his party and why his body language and comments have demonstrably been in promotion of violence. After a thorough review of the inciting video in circulation, other inflammatory comments and apparent tacit support for violence, it appears that the 'The Emilokan of Bourdillon' (it is my turn) has gone into a wave of “if I can’t have it then we destroy it” mode ahead of the elections. Our Campaign charges the security agencies to closely monitor the activities of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign given its proclivity to violence and apparent plot to derail the smooth conduct of the 2023 general elections. The Atiku/Okowa Campaign commends Nigerians for being resolute in their determination to vote in the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to commence the onerous task of 'change the change', rescue our nation and rebuild her prosperity from the misrule of the APC. Signed: Kola Ologbondiyan Spokesperson Atiku/Okowa Campaign Organization |
It is no longer secret that the former speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon.
