Hello house, please I need advise on something. I had my baby on the 31st of august at methodist sugarland. On the 1st they did the juandice test and said his bilubrin was high and that they will transfer him to another hospital. Now he was transferred that same first around 2pm after various plead on them to obeserve him since its jaundice. Now they have given us a bill of 2841.50 usd for spending 7 hrs in their nciu. They said they didn't have a level 2 nciu which is what they said he needed. How they arrived at this outrageous bill I don't know. We have requested for a breakdown, they said they won't give us as international patient. We are still battling with the hosppital the reffered us to with their own bills. Please can anyone advise us on how to go about this with methodist.

Sorry abt your bills, who was your baby's pediatrician? If the hospital gives you a pediatrician guess it from Texas children. Bills from specialist of Texas children are expensive.
Try and visit the billing department ask after Sarah,guess she still heads that department, explain and beg her to get the best discount on your bill. Also tell her you are on a package with the hospital.Hope this helps you.

Hello , Sorry for the delay in my part 2.
My bills as follows :
Cesarean section Elective - $3,780 Uncomplicated this package covers mother and baby's stays,for 3 days.

Epidural - $1,500 flat rate for normal delivery or C/S.

Payment for delivery in methodist hospital sugarland is mandatory you pay epidural using or not.it is refundable when you don't use it.

Pediatrician fee - $200 if using Dr Egbe it could be more if u allow the hospital choose a Doctor for your baby.

Lab tests - After delivery mother and baby $91,after a 50% discount.

I decline hearing test for my baby thou I was lucky the pediatrician ran the test then found where I signed declining it. So I got it free .

That was all I paid no suprises.
I Got my zero balance from the hospital going through the billing department ask after Sarah ,she was of great help to expedites my zero balance.

Dr Amajoh office is in the same building of labour and delivery of methodist hospital sugarland.

After your first hospital visit you will be referred to the billing department of methodist hospital sugarland,ground floor.

Please always ask questions to avoid matters that affect the heart . If questions are asked properly you will not in cure extra charges.

The hospital services is top niche and well organised.

My journey started in may,re newed visa via dropbox, I had to write the embassy of my intent, well I got the general reply.

Flew Delta airline to houston via Atlanta been POE,it was a smooth pass all thanks to God for hearing my prayers. Aside from the general questions was only told to sign a form to declare my cash since it was over 10k.

The queue was long due to flights coming in at the same time, before I could connect, I missed my flight to houston. I had to be change my tickect to the next connectin flight leaving for houston.
Got to houston by 11:30am since I chose to use soul care concierge a car was waiting to pick me to my accommodation.
I used Houston methodist hospital sugarland, Dr zee Amajoh was my doctor, Relax and wait for the part 2 of my missionary journey .

Yes,Houston methodist sugarland.

Normal delivery - $2,538 for the first 2 days,additional day $378. Both mother and child.

Uncomplicated C section - $3,780 for the first 3 days,additional 72hours $540,

Epidural -$1,500


Doctor's fee, if using Dr Amajoh
VD - $2,240

Twin delivery additional $750

C section - $2,560
If physician is in group additional $640.

Dr Amajoh accepts results from Nigeria but will run few not up to $200

Hello, you can book a ticket by calling the delta office on 012799000. That was how I booked mine and paid at a Gt bank. Hope it helps

Hello house. Had my baby dis morning around 5am at methodist Sugar land. The service has been very nice except the bills I don't know how it will go because I came in twice for false labour.the delivery went well with no epidural.

My dear sis using methodist Sugar land pls just want to advice dat u your search well o. Because they can be very secretive when it comes to bills. That where I'm using now but I won't say I regret using them. You need to see how they charged me when I went in for false labour. Pls do your findings well n if possible you can get another place pls do. Just saying from my experience o. Still in houston

I agree with you too. Most times the recommended induction is not necessary. I too was induced with my first, reason also that the baby was big. Labour stalled and I ended up with an UNPLANNED c-section. Baby was not even up to 4kg.[/quote]When doctors tells you your baby is big not in all cases will it have to do with baby's weights,every woman pelvic are not same in sizes, I meant a gynecology who said it is better @ 36 weeks to have a pelvic x-ray showing the size of the baby's head and the size of the pelvic, this helps a lot @ that point a woman knows if she can push or c section will be done.

come to think of it,if every woman can get the x-ray done,I believe it will save lots of lives,prolonged labour,child and mother mortality rate.

sharing this from a personal experience.

Hello,am using methodist hospital and Dr Amajoh Zee happens to be my doctor,I had a personal experience with her when I travelled for the xmas vac. I took my time checking out some hospitals,meeting with Dr Amajoh was a great experience,she is the MD of southwest obstetrics/gyn.on my first appointment day with her, from our discussions I knew I was in safe hands I even got freebies of drugs,letter to show that am her patient and would be coming back for delivery. Dr Amajoh is young and exprienced from my findings. This is my personal experience, I hope u get other people that has used her to share their experiences too.

This is just the Doctor's bill, the hospital has it own bill based on how many days u spend in the hospital, epidural fee, lab etc but the good side is Dr Zee will accept some medical test done here in Nigeria,so u don't spend more on lab test. Was also told there is discount for self payment.
