Reverseng: First, understand that balanced diet is a scam.
If it wasn't, the rich people who can afford the best balanced diet should rarely fall sick. Have you written somewhere I wonder, that school too is a scam? Op, I'm hoping you have a brain in your head and can reason that what the rich do or don't do has nothing to do with what's right or wrong, as money has no correlation whatsoever with sense. A balanced diet is essential for proper growth, and I would strongly encourage you cultivate that in your children so they will not depart from it as they grow. Please consider the advice you are given, and do not blindly follow the supposed rich and be foolish. |

BY JEFF STEIN · Jan 13, 2025
President-elect Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon is ramping up public attacks on billionaire Elon Musk amid an intensifying debate on the right about Musk’s influence in the incoming administration.
In an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera this past week, Bannon said Musk “should go back to South Africa,” where he was born, and be denied privileged access to the West Wing. Bannon has also criticized Musk’s support for a skilledworker visa program that led to a bitter rift last month between farright activists and Trump’s tech executive supporters, who see the program as a crucial lifeline for Silicon Valley.
Trump ultimately sided with Musk in that dispute, but Bannon said he is preparing a broader effort to limit the Tesla executive’s ability to shape Trump’s agenda.
Bannon told the newspaper: “Why do we have South Africans, the most racist people on earth, White South Africans … making any comments at all on what goes on in the United States?”
Bannon added he would “do anything” to keep Musk out of the White House. The comments reflect the growing questions among some Trump allies about the precise role Musk will play in Trump’s second term. A political newcomer who until recently supported candidates of both parties, Musk went all-in on Trump in the 2024 elections with more than $277 million in donations to Republicans — and has been rewarded by emerging as one of the president-elect’s most influential advisers.
But precisely how Musk will exert his newfound political power — and how long it will last — remains unclear. That uncertainty extends to Musk’s appointment by Trump to co-lead the “Department of Government Efficiency” with tech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. That body does not have formal government authorities and must work with the White House to have its recommendations implemented. Emissaries with DOGE have begun contacting U.S. agencies across the government, but it’s not clear whether they will be given security clearances granting them access to federal records. In his interview with the Italian newspaper, Bannon also said Musk should be denied the White House pass that would give him unfettered access to the West Wing. The Wall Street Journal reported last month that Musk has a top-secret security clearance, but questions about his foreign entanglements and drug use have precluded him from accessing more privileged information. Bannon and Musk did not return requests for comment.
Bannon served as chief executive of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and became a White House senior counselor before leaving in a cloud of controversy. Despite serving a four-month prison sentence over his refusal to cooperate with an investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection, Bannon remains influential in right-wing circles, running a popular podcast and recently appearing at Mar-a-lago. Numerous Trump advisers — including Russell Vought, Trump’s choice for budget chief, and Peter Navarro, an incoming White House adviser — have appeared on Bannon’s program in recent months.
But Bannon’s nationalist vision for Trump’s second term is increasingly at odds with Musk’s. An immigration opponent and trade hawk, Bannon has long pushed measures deeply opposed by the GOP’S business faction, which worries about the financial impact of mass tariffs and deportations.
That split was crystallized last month in the fight over the visa program permitting foreigners with technical skills to work in the United States for up to six years. Bannon and many far-right Trump supporters such as Laura Loomer attacked the “tech bros” as dependent on cheap foreign labor that undermines U.S. workers, while Musk and Ramaswamy defended the program as necessary to protect the competitiveness of U.S. tech firms.
“The number of people who are super talented engineers AND super motivated in the USA is far too low,” Musk wrote on X on Christmas. “If you want your TEAM to win the championship, you need to recruit top talent wherever they may be.” Bannon told the Italian newspaper that Musk’s ideas are “really about the implementation of techno-feudalism on a global scale.” |

jaephoenix: Actually I'm a physician, and I believe the spinal injury self-inflicted due to my work routines and exercise. So in all, I knew what the problem was: some lumbar radiculopathy with sciatic affectation. I didn't do any spinal MRI, just some blind clinical diagnosis. Had some spasm and tingling of my left leg which lasted for 3 months and gradually ebbed off. I thank my Flying Spaghetti Monster for his noodly limbs of healings I'm no physician, and unfortunately caught mine in my village which caused many to assume "village people". Turned out I'd stupidly self-inflicted myself with spinal schistosomiasis caught from swimming in the beautiful enticing lake by my farm land that I ignorantly didn't know was infested during the drier months of the year. I thank the amazingly dedicated physicians at Lewisham Hospital and King's Hospital and the Hospital For Tropical Diseases who worked day and night to get me back on my two feet. There was no way I could have afforded the amazing care I got, and neither could I claim I deserved it. |

I wouldn't have thought a Nigerian soldier would engage in "activities of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender or Trans, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual or Agender, Two-Spirit (LGBTQIA2S+) group and cross-dressing, amongst other".
The following though, is more likely, and a pity only officers are banned from engaging in it.
“An officer shall not engage in any form of disorderly behaviour, brawl, or any action of public disgrace. An officer must not at any time be drunk whether on or off duty,” the regulations say. The condition of service also forbids the involvement of officers in amorous relationships with subordinates or their spouses. |

CaptainFM1: I bet you never see any digitalized control room other than in action movies.
A lot of censors and systems are being monitored concurrently. So in my view, that CCR is not even sophisticated enough for 2million barrels/day. There should be a censor that automatically and continuously ring the President's phone whenever our oil is been stolen. Our president, in my opinion, should not be sitting in front of computers monitoring 2 million barrels of crude oil a day except in a poor nation like ours, I guess. 2 million barrels a day is a tiny amount for a country as huge as Nigeria. Dangote probably has a more sophisticated monitoring system in his refinery, and he probably does not sit there waiting for disruptions to ring on his phone. |

forgiveness: You said they don't need to monitor the computer, right?
So, will the computer report to if the pipe lines have been vandalized or if the cargoes are being diverted? I'm assuming you missed out a "who" from the bold. The computer can report to the ghost by sending an alert, or one person can sit there and monitor it, though it would likely be smarter to fit an alarm that buzzes so that person can be doing something else instead of staring at a computer screen all day. In fact, I'm now wondering if they intend to hire people to monitor the breakdown of the computer itself too, lol. After all, na Naija. |

You no dey think. So, one person. Remotely, even, direct to mobile phone, so ghost in the room. I can just about imagine someone sitting in front of those monitors waiting for the computers to report to them. Guess they can be on Nairaland all day if there's nothing to report. |

Kemetian: What a dumb post.
Why don’t you send them the exact measurement for how big the facility should be since you are the ‘expert’. Big mouth no sense. I know its hard for you to understand how you shouldn't need so many seats for that many people monitoring what one person can monitor. In fact, the computers can monitor the flow of crude oil without anyone watching, since those watching can't exactly fix a disruption from their monitoring station. But I guess someone has to get the contract to siphon Nigeria's money into their own pocket. |

It happens to everyone, whether christian, Muslim, atheist, Buddhist, rapist, murderers, carpenters etc, whether they pray or not. I always use my example of myself. I had a spinal issue that made me unable to walk for weeks. I didn't pray to any scammer. Just took drugs. Now I'm using my legs. If I had prayed once, that's how everyone would be telling me its god. OP have you thought that despite the prayerful nature of Nigerian christians, the country is getting worse daily. So why is atheistic countries like China, New Zealand which have considerably less christians than Nigeria progressing while we languish in Nigeria despite praying at any chance? Use your brain for once. Its not illegal jaephoenix, Oh my Gott! Et tu? Me I let the specialists at King's Hospital do their miracle, and voila. I must confess I prayed once though. Ma came with the Mother's Union and I thought to myself, I'm not letting these women disturb the ward with their prayers, so I prayed, "Thank you lord for all you have done", and they all said amen and left. Feedback I got was I was arrogant, lol. Ref: https://www.nairaland.com/4437570/gospel-according-luke/1#72867008 |

HeatSeeker: That is exactly where it should be! The business section.
The truth is that the real consequences of defaulting on loan apps is not yet completely understood. We don't fully know to what extent the loan recovery agents can go to get you to pay up.
They already have your bvn and can make a formal request to access your funds lodged in other banks. Whether this request will be granted or not is another issue.
Loan refinancing and restructuring is badly needed in this industry. There is no reason people should not be allowed to pay at their own pace if they cannot meet the initial amortisation schedule.
For now act as if nothing will happen. But do your best to pay up when you are able to get on your feet again. So long as you don't mind the interest being calculated at the pace of the lender, why not pay at your own pace? Just know that your payment pace might be much slower than the interest accrues, and the amount you owe might be growing the more you pay. |
