With apologies, but this is not true. If you discriminate in employment against a transgender person, you are violating the Equality Act 2010. It is illegal under the act to refuse to hire a transgender because of their transgenderism, and you'd be sacked for violating the Equality Act 2010 if you abuse a transgender colleague at work.

Stating you do not want to be treated by a transgender person is however not discriminating against a transgender person, same as not wanting to be treated by a woman or man is not discriminating against men or women. You can't however say you don't want to be served in a restaurant by a transgender person. If you do, the restauranteur will likely ask you to leave without being served because the transgender can sue the employer for discrimination.

Do note there's also hate crimes. If you abuse a transgender on the street because of their transgenderism, you'd be committing a hate crime similar to abusing a white person because of their whiteness or a hijab wearing woman because of her hijab.
