Some of us were beaten so much that beating no more scares us. Even the ultimate beating which is the threat of hell does not work because we are not animals and instead have brains in our heads that we know how to use.

Your kids might indeed turn out to be animals that respond to sticks if you raise them like animals who respond to sticks, but if you raise them like humans and with love they'd likely turn out as lovely humans.

Lol. Aunty Buda, a vast majority of Nigerian pupils were subjected to this kind of treatment from their teachers, especially the playful ones, and they came out quite alright. It is outdated and high handed but usually gets the job done. However, there are equally other equally effective means of teaching a pupil who is slow to learn. My own mother taught me to read and was much worse. I wouldn't let her teach my own children that way though, because, as jumper524 said, the world has evolved, and there are better ways to teach even what you call "slow to learn", which could be because of bad teaching.

Yujin, this is not how a good teacher helps your child learn. And claiming a child who's face you can not even see is not injured or crying is disingenuous. You know very well that if you receive just one of the slaps that child received there'd certainly be tears in your eyes, how much less or more a child of that age!

Please, if you want one on one tutoring for you child, get a kind and considerate person who will not emotionally damage your child for life. The person in that video should not be teaching at all.

Every time someone likes this post I cringe at the unnecessary repetition and double negative, and wonder why no one has pulled me up on it yet

I remember the days they offered life usage for a pound.

It wasn't necessary, and you didn't really get anything you didn't get if you didn't pay, buy just the principle of it and support for them made me part with a pound.
