basilico:And vote that bigot Stephen Christopher Yaxley-Lennon as prime minister? You must think we Brits are stupid like some Americans or you intend to hold your breath until you expire. |
advanceDNA:He won't pay because he understands it as taking the mother into his bed and sleeping with her first before marrying the daughter as wife 2. |
NNTR:The beauty of the text is clear in any version. Two separate questions are asked: Whom shall he teach knowledge? Whom shall he make to understand doctrine? Neither actually implies the teaching of belief nor doctrine per se, but knowledge (what I'd call the inverse of belief), and the understanding of doctrine (and what is believed). And those it shall be 'teached' to are: them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. The words "wean" and "drawn", both imply those who have matured enough not to need being fed beliefs because their mind is developed enough to understand and reason. Hear Paul saying the exact same thing: When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. When he was a child he was unweaned and breast fed doctrines and beliefs he could not understand, which is likely why he rejected them, but when he matured in his ability to understand, he saw clearly. Unfortunately, everyone thinks they alone see clearly, but they also think everyone else doesn't see at all. Thankfully, fruits don't lie. P.s. I am intentionally limiting myself to only parts of your response in order to focus. I do read it all, and may address other parts in other posts at a later time. |
NNTR:Doctrine, a belief or set of beliefs held and taught by a Church, political party, or other group. "We", as in some of us, do not have any interest whatsoever in doctrines and beliefs. We abhor brainwashing in ourselves and others. Even when we teach the laws of physics, we do not teach them as doctrine to be believed, but as propositions to be tested, understood and utilised or debunked. That, is how learning and understanding occurs, and not just by mere believing doctrines. [If] you live in UK, you'd see the effect of the above. The British do not believe. They instead test every thing with their own god given senses, while Nigerians believe and test nothing. And the consequence of doing either is very clear to see. |
They gave her bail. Kukutente23:I agree. |
NNTR:I'd say, a blinded eye, but I know we'd disagree so I'd leave it at that Enish? |
If this is how to get attention, perhaps we all should walk to Abuja. Seriously, who sent him! |
TheFinesseKid:You think I wouldn't advise a blood brother to go and learn a skill if they don't have one? And next I suppose you'd think I'd feed them instead. Nawa o. |
NNTR:I was not comparing Mohammed to God, but to those who claim their knowledge was not learnt and was instead brought to them by divine means. And I wouldn't agree that God (or more accurately the writers of the God stories), did not contradict in this story (and many others in fact). Job was obviously confused. NNTR:Job was not described to have had an achilles heel as far as I know. He was in fact described as "perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil", so what heel was God testing when the narrative actually describes God being tested by satan? |
lexy2014:Go and learn to look. |
Ibime: Farage, 60, indicated Musk’s statement could be connected to a disagreement about Tommy Robinson, the jailed far-right anti-Islam agitator whom Musk has characterised as a political prisoner, but whom Farage condemns. |
feedthenation:I bet he magas, lol. For the first time since that transition 24 years ago, there will be no American troops at war overseas on Inauguration Day. New data reported in the past few days indicate that murders are way down, illegal immigration at the southern border has fallen even below where it was when Mr. Trump left office and roaring stock markets finished their best two years in a quarter-century. |
Congrats321:If it helps, I have always been against fuel subsidy, and currency subsidy for the wealthy, and the one I hate most, wage bill subsidy for employers that many knows as Youth Corper. If they scrap that wage bill subsidy, employers will have to pay their staff the market rate instead of the meagre subsidised wage they currently pay. |
NNTR:Really? At the expense of Job? I'm certain it's me, I just prefer my Gods not to be making me suffer just because it wants to prove a point. Life is hard enough as it is I think, for my life to be kalokaloed by some god with nothing better to be doing. If a thread were to be created about a parent testing their child like that, most will call social services on that parent's ass. NNTR:Wise indeed. We did agree it was a made up story that didn't actually happen, like a lot of made up stories in the Bible. NNTR:This is so school na scammick. I'm not buying. People say that you say here and then regurgitate what they grasped intellectually with their own head, if they bothered, or they come up with some unreasoning they been told to believe, or worse, they claim their own understanding is not from their head by straight from God. To wit, pull the other one. Mohammed pulled that last one and Christians would never accept it so I wonder why they think it would work on non-Christians. NNTR:Why was Job's overall strength put to test? Did God not know Job's strength already it had to test Job? |
lexy2014:Go get glasses. |
Nnamdipapa:Quite a lot of people agree with you. But my support for Obi is not because I thought he would have done better, but because the government at the time needed destabilising in my opinion. If a party rules too long they know what money to siphon into their own pockets, while a new government would spend some time looking for the money before they can loot it. That time in between them finding the money and looting it is why I want constant change of government in Nigeria until a competent person comes along. I wish he had stayed with Atiku. Though I like Atiku even less, I think they would have beaten APC. |
Richie6:Same subsidy he organised Nigerians to help him fight against, you mean. Basically, he used you. He knew you'd all fight against fuel subsidy, so he marched in front and led you to fight knowing that will make him a man of your people, but now he's in power he is doing what should be done. Hopefully, you have learnt not to trust your politicians, and make you scrutinise them much more. |
lexy2014:Did I say anything I needed to ask Tinubu about before I state my own view and opinion? lexy2014:You did not look well enough, and should. budaatum:And if you feel inclined to repeat your question again, please know my answer is the same and you just need to read it again. |
lexy2014:Go and ask Tinubu. He did not confide in buda. |
When I first read the Book of Job, I rushed to dad and asked why God would be playing bet9ja with satan. It was pools in those days, and it wasn't unusual so see grown men with no teeth crying into a cup of ògógóró as they contemplated their wife throwing them out for loosing a month's wage on a bet on payday, so going to a bookie with satan was just so lowly of an Almighty God, I thought pre-10. Dad's answer was, perhaps go ask God? So I did by reading Job again and again, and for years, asking all the questions I could think of. God never answered of course, least not how I'd hoped. Probably had planets and stars and cosmoses to be more concerned about than to be answering buda, but in my questioning I got Job woven into my dna somehow to lens my world outlook which is turning out to be a huge answer indeed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQwnH8th_fs?si=ULnaerwuOwQ7acp1 P.s. For the don't knows. buda is atheist.

So, you all admit Jonathan lacked the balls to remove fuel subsidy, and caved in to Tinubu's protests? I'm glad we are on the same page. If you had all voted for my Peter Obi, things might have been better, or worse to be honest, but you'd at least not be contending with Mr Bullion Van, which in my own opinion was enough not to elect him. But here we are with President Agbado, and I personally appreciate the fuel and currency subsidy removals, and the hardship too in fact, as its likely to make you consider your pvc and voting to be more precious and important than most otherwise thought it was. Please, if you like him as little as I do, vote for Peter Obi or anyone (but perhaps not Atiku please) at the next election. And before anyone attempts to try to tell me Tinubu was not elected, please read this first! Murketeer: lexy2014: anonimi: walozanga: Tooreda: idowu4sky: Congrats321: kenn4rill: Riskymarvelous:

deluckiest:The above makes me suspect your communication skills might have been at fault. If you so easily slip from "female business partner" to "friend" in communicating with me, I can't help but wonder about possible faux pas when communicating with your wife. Insisting you "end the partnership and look for a male partner instead" is a bit much, and you complying further rings alarms in my head since its invading your pocket too. Do know I'm merely speculating, since I know absolutely nothing about you and your wife. |

I found a thread full of Anambrans critiquing Obi, whom I personally preferred against the continuance of APC. https://www.nairaland.com/870945/what-exactly-peter-obi-doing |
Tinubu, you done well. Other presidents had promised to remove fuel subsidy but found they lacked the balls you have. |
I am amused these two issues are not yet on radars despite been cooking a whole now. https://wolfstreet.com/2024/12/31/office-cmbs-delinquency-rate-spikes-to-a-record-11-surpassing-the-peak-of-the-financial-crisis/
