With science or arts, yes I do choose for my child, or rather, did. As a trained teacher, I focused on teaching my children science and arts (history, accounting etc) because I wanted them to be proficient in both so they may be more intelligent and have more choices. With right or left hand, they may choose. If I'd been concerned about their football playability however, I definitely would have put the time in to train them to practice to ensure they use both their left and right feet as it would make them better footballers. Even with their religion, I their parent choose that too, while giving them the tools to make choices for themselves when they become adults.

I understand you might not be the same kind of parent I have been, and instead left the choosing for your children to the teacher and school who wants to choose their gender for them. And if that is the case, I will claim you have been far less responsible for your children's choices than proactive I have been.

You may now want to argue that children are born to prefer science or art, or which hands they use, and I will be very interested in hearing you claim children are born transgender too, but know in advance that you will be on shaky ground, since your position to this point is "school and teacher programs them".

I believe we are both discussing gender affirming care as it relates to transgenderism and not a medical condition as you seek to put it. Transgenderism is first a psychological condition, which is definitely medical. That's why the initial stage of treatment is that of the psychological assessment of both the child and it's parents. We will after all need to determine if the child is gender dysphoric because its parent or teacher have fed it crap, and to determine how deep its dysphoria is. And we wouldn't just allow a surgical gender change, which is medical, because a child wants one without first psychologically (medically) assessing the child, and its parents.

Better is, the creation of a healthy psychological environment so some teacher or school can't go and reprogram your children to be the opposite gender of what you their parents have born them to be.

And you claiming I am ignorant or don't have children is simply a ploy you adopt because you haven't got a valid argument about the medical and political debate that surrounds it. Ones own child being gender dysphoric is definitely not a political debate.

Gender affirming care goes either way. You can either be affirming the gender the child was born in or the gender it has been convinced to choose, and an intelligent parent would chose wisely. You would after all want your gender dysphoric child to get some care, so why would you let others pay the piper and dictate the tune?

Gender care in prison is not as you are lamely implying. A person who is already receiving care for their gender dysphoria before being incarcerated does require continuous care while incarcerated. The hormones et all that they had been taking before incarceration needs to continue or their overall health would be at risk. Its in fact similar to the care that would be provided to a person being treated for cancer. You wouldn't expect them to pay for it while you've jailed them, and while they can not work and earn to pay for their care themselves. And I hope you are not so heartless as to claim a prisoner with cancer does not require the care they'd have received if not in prison.

Below is the initial stage of Gender affirming care, which I'd hope every parent would consider for their gender dysphoric child.

Treatment for children and young people

State law does not stop you educating (indoctrinating, even), your child about its own gender long before you send it to schools. You might even decide not to send it to school and school your child at home. No one can force you to consent to what you disagree with.

I can't help not think of those taking care of the elderly. They can't work remotely with a tablet to clean bottoms and feed their clients. They have to migrate where their clients are.

The reason you don't "send the jobs of politicians abroad too" is not "since there are politicians elsewhere who can do it cheaper".

There are no politicians aboard anywhere who can legislate for America, just as you can't ship carer jobs or those of doctors elsewhere where it's cheaper. Instead, you bring those people into your country to do those jobs, hence they are eating the pets in Springfield.

Manufacturers will always look for the cheapest place to manufacture their products. They do not manufacture for the love of their customers or even to create jobs, but to create wealth in their own pockets. Problem is the cost of production is passed on to the consumer, and there is a significant difference in what a Chinese employee gets paid and what an American employee gets paid.

Just think small, if you will. Apple make iPhones in USA. USA employees (woke, and unionised), ask for a living wage. How much do you think that will add to the cost of the phone? And would it be competitive with say, Made in China Samsung?

Frustratingly, there's more to this that makes America uncompetitive as far as manufacturing goes, but we unfortunately don't seem to be capable of discussing such things here. That made in America iPhone will have pension costs added to it too, and you know I'd be striking for a living wage as soon as Apple releases its financials. Definitely not reduce prices if you want to manufacture in USA, and in fact inflate prices instead.
