Superior sense, which is what I am seeing you are describing people should have before marrying, is not common, and requires effort to acquire, which is why most don't have it and therefore don't do the things you are describing they should do before marrying, and why their marriages often fail.

We can sell at a discount to Opec for instance, if no one is buying from us, or at a premium if everyone wants to buy from us. Our Bonny Light is after all a high-grade crude oil known for its low sulfur content, which makes it less corrosive to refinery equipment and has a lower environmental impact, and is in high demand by refiners in Europe and America.

We might even sell more than our allocation, though we actually sell less than allocated due to our inefficiency, which oddly adds a premium to what we do sell.

We'd have a bigger say if we got our act together and produce our OPEC allocation, and a much huger say if we refined it ourselves instead of selling crude.
