I vehemently disagree with you on this. He should not be forced or guilt tripped into taking responsibility he is not obliged to. That he loved the lady does not mean he should also take responsibility for her child. If he elects to, fine, but he should never be forced to. The lady should look for the baby daddy and let him take responsibility, except the lady was raped, she should know who she slept with.
In the alternative, her family should take responsibility for the upkeep of the child, afterall they are all related by blood.
Starting a relationship with such responsibility could be very emotionally and financially stressful on a young man. If the lady insist on taking the baby along with the bath, and he feels he is not ready to, he should waka.

No one is forcing or guilt tripping him into taking responsibility. Fact is he fell in love with a single mother who says the father is nowhere to be found, and if he doesn't like it, like you said, "he should waka".

Asking the woman to choose between him or her child is ridiculous though, but if you don't agree it is, read my suggestion above to Chemlite.

Some of us were beaten so much that beating no more scares us. Even the ultimate beating which is the threat of hell does not work because we are not animals and instead have brains in our heads that we know how to use.

Your kids might indeed turn out to be animals that respond to sticks if you raise them like animals who respond to sticks, but if you raise them like humans and with love they'd likely turn out as lovely humans.

Lol. Aunty Buda, a vast majority of Nigerian pupils were subjected to this kind of treatment from their teachers, especially the playful ones, and they came out quite alright. It is outdated and high handed but usually gets the job done. However, there are equally other equally effective means of teaching a pupil who is slow to learn. So while I disagree with her actions, it shouldn't be an overkill as someone here mentioned. From her body language her intentions are far from malicious

My own mother taught me to read and was much worse. I wouldn't let her teach my own children that way though, because, as jumper524 said, the world has evolved, and there are better ways to teach even what you call "slow to learn", which could be because of bad teaching.

When baba Diokpara's wife died and left Kunle, Abom and Chinyere behind, we the neighbours supported him. Unfortunately, his ogogoro drinking and pool playing that his dead wife had been complaining about finally killed him too and we the neighbours supported her children.

Ma gave them a room in her house, and my siblings and I paid for Diokpara to go study marine engineering in Ghana. He now works on ships and travels the world. Kunle is an artist, Abom is a model, and Chinyere is a well paid qualified teacher.
