ono:You are your god's spokesperson, so I am asking you. |
Actually, I think Nigeria's Democracy is broken because too many Nigerians can't be bothered to get off their asses to go out to vote. Almost 100m Nigerians registered to vote at the last election in which turnout was just over a quarter, and less than 10% voted for the current president. That's not broken, its not yet created at best, or at least not used. And I blame only we Nigerians. Thankfully, the consequence of our not voting is also bourne by us Nigerians.

benalvino3:Go learn about the law in UK please. You can not carry a knife for self defence in UK. |
benalvino3:For 12 years you were misled by tucker, but now think your move away absolves you? Does that include wiping from our minds that you literally worshipped him, I wonder. benalvino3: |

raumdeuter:"Might" is the key word here. And you might as well claim women "might" drift towards tying themselves to a stove while ignoring that's the only option given to most women. DEI encourages you to give people the widest options possible so they can choose the one they want instead of the choice you pigeonhole them into. The below is not because women did not choose STEM, but because STEM was not a field they were encouraged into, after centuries of actually discouraging women to earn incomes of their own.
|
raumdeuter:Why only give black people the options between basketball and Fencing when you can also give them other choices like astronaut and president? Is it because you have occam razored their choices before you gave them those choices? This is what DEI challenges. The bias that makes you give them such limited choices. |
raumdeuter:Sense that is common requires no effort to acquire, and is usually just picked up from those around one with no personal scrutiny of its validity. I am very "anti common sense", and prefer sense you work for instead of that which is simply common and popular. Below is the result of your sense that is common to most.
|
raumdeuter:First, I'd like you to change women in the above to black people, so you can see how you reason. Black people are 90-10 and not 50-50 because you occam razored them? Occam razor reasoning is what was used to create your 90-10 and force women out of fields they now thrive in. Women were defined as the rib of men, despite all evidence showing they produce the men, and ever since they've been occamed as second class citizens who do not deserve the same opportunities men are given. You so called conservatives even talk of tying women to stoves in the kitchen in this 21st Century, though I'm certain your women just laugh at you behind your back Besides, women are not being forced into a field they are not just interested in. They are in fact taking full advantage themselves of opportunities they now have since you men are finally being taught that equally were you created both male and female. We just hope you learn before we start deciding many men are not the equal of women, and then farm you for the only thing you are good for.
|
raumdeuter:You must think liberals are anti-profit if you believe they'd pick an unqualified Hispanic man as CEO, or don't have a valid business reason why they might. We should be concerned though if no Hispanic person is found, since we are very unlikely to choose an unqualified person to run our business. Or do you believe liberals would hire an unqualified Hispanic person as CEO of a company? |
raumdeuter:Equity, and the realisation that I might have 90 men and only 10 women because I might have been biased against women, or women might not have had the opportunity men might have had to make the cutoff. |
rock003:I mentioned elections and government. It's part of educating you. https://www.nairaland.com/8632965/nigeria-overtakes-india-highest-number#138725086 |
raumdeuter:DEI is about ensuring everyone is considered and given equal opportunity. Though, that "equal opportunity" is debatable if you didn't give it early enough. An example of that latter is Ben's sons whom he wants school to give equal opportunity in maths to, while I spend my time giving my children superior extra lessons. Our children don't have equal opportunities, and would likely not have equal outcomes. And no, I am not asking DEI to make up the difference, since it very much can not unless at the expense of my superior in maths children. |
raumdeuter:Not agreeing with you is not the same as not understanding. Note. DEI is about making people who were not aware, aware. Like making women and those hiring understand that women can be engineers. History does show that they were not even considered, and even when they accomplished in their fields, the credit went to their husbands. Marie Curie faced intense, lifelong discrimination as a woman and a foreigner in male-dominated, early 20th-century French academia. She was rejected by the French Academy of Sciences in 1911, had her Nobel Prize-winning work attributed to her husband, and faced xenophobic, sexist media attacks labeling her a "foreign homewrecker". |
dederocs:If victims of bandits or kidnappers terrorists hold me, I very likely would say this since I am not their kidnappers terrorists or the bandits that held them. But apart from that, one should not let one's emotions dictate justice which should be rationally administered. |
benalvino3:You can call your "if" country bemeruca, so we can call you the benalvino of bemeruca. It would need to be a dictatorship, because no one with functioning mushy substance in their head would elect you to tell them what to think or believe. |
raumdeuter:That is DEI! |
raumdeuter:This is DEI! |
raumdeuter:This is you lying to justify your position. No one believes "a black nan can only be a top neurosurgeon if you are helped with a quota. You however need wonder if only a disproportionate few black men qualify for neurosurgeon school since you agree black men have brains too. We can discuss black women neurosurgeons once we've exhausted black men. DEI would not let you discriminate against me just because I've taken time out to increase the population. |
raumdeuter:You seem to not be aware that DEI is about giving the same opportunities to those who have historically not been given the same opportunities, or you just don't think the history of not giving everyone the same opportunity is consequential today. |
raumdeuter:The argument for DEI is that everyone is not subjected to the "same standard, same exam, same cutoff for everyone". If you underteach or underfund some schools based on race for instance, you can't claim same standards at the exam. Ref: https://edtrust.org/press-room/school-districts-that-serve-students-of-color-receive-significantly-less-funding/ https://www.npr.org/2019/02/26/696794821/why-white-school-districts-have-so-much-more-money https://www.heritage.org/education/report/the-myth-racial-disparities-public-school-funding That last is like a minority report. |

SirCloudControl:So you can hear their defence and judge them accordingly. They might be so guilty their sentence is death. samuelson06:Yes they do. In a court of law and not just jungle justice like this person got. budaatum: |
killsmith:Many are part of the problem they are wailing about. They refuse to vote or sell their vote for a pittance, then come here to wail about their starvation. My hope is we learn so more than 50% vote for the next Nigerian president and 90% for the one after. |
