Dtruthspeaker:You "wanted", but never asked? Some asked and chopped the knock on the head and so went asking and knocking and seeking for ourselves, dt. "Teacher teacher o, abi na lecturer be your name, make u no teach me, I go know!" |

raumdeuter:I am not proposing a bank statement as Id, Raum, though I'm not excluding it in conjunction with other IDs like with a gym ID and work ID. Banks have legislation that ensure they show record of whom they transact with. It is a legal requirement, and breaches attract heavy fines plus cost. Voting on the other hand, does not have such legislation nor such fines for breaches nor cost, so you might see a reason why both are treated differently. Equating the two is just false equivalence, in my own opinion. |
benalvino3:You don't need access to my company database to verify me, Ben. You sent me a letter saying I have registered my right to come and vote, and hopefully you invested in quality paper and letterheading to be able to identify a fake from the original I've brought with me along with photocard id showing my name and my face. As for my bank, I would not put my money in a bank anyone can show up with gym ID and withdraw money from. That bank wouldn't even be in business, Ben, if for money laundering purposes alone! |
benalvino3:Well, I already got a work id, so easier is mute. And you can easily verify me because my name and address will be in your database system of voters (electoral role, where I live), which you can very easily check. After all, it is that same system and database that you'd check my Id against, no? |
benalvino3:You would have determined Raum and buda's right to vote when we registered our right to vote, Ben, and if one of us has no right to vote they'd be informed, and you would not have sent them a letter saying they can vote, so turning up to vote without the right to vote is mute. |
benalvino3:This is your argument, and not mine, Ben. I've repeatedly told you I will be turning up with the letter you sent me confirming I have registered to vote, along with my work place photocard identifying me. Care explaining why that is insufficient id for you? |
raumdeuter:You obviously do not understand the meaning of the word "rights", if this is how you use the word. The bank and i contract to keep my money secure with them, so it's not a right but a contractual agreement that I have with my bank. And in order for my bank to provide me with the service of keeping my money safe, we agree that certain checks will be performed, like ascertaining I am the rightful holder of the account. After all, if they give my money to the wrong person, it is they and not I who would be liable and at a loss. |
raumdeuter:I don't work for the govt so my work photocard id can not possibly have been issued by govt. Why? Does my work photocard id not identify me enough for you? |
benalvino3:I expect you to say no different when it comes to that which is way beyond your level of comprehension, Ben. |
raumdeuter:It's America, right? A country where you can easily hunt me down and throw me in jail if it is found I was impersonating someone else, so give yourself some credit, why don't you. I'm not asking them to give my voting rights to the wrong person, which is why I have turned up with the letter you sent me showing I registered for the right I am now exercising plus any id I do have showing you my name with my photocard on it. |
raumdeuter:You'd never get it, will you. Government should not require I show a right I already have, and should in fact be protecting my rights instead of attempting to be the one who permits me to have rights that are already my rights. |
raumdeuter:You don't yet use govt issued IDs for voting in America, thank Gott, which is why some states are now trying to introduce it. They are trying it here too, by the way, for Ben who always accuses me of introducing UK. We are resisting. |
raumdeuter:Your work id shows your right to be on the premises and your admission to valuable machinery or your safety that an employer might be protecting, which is not a consideration when you vote. |
raumdeuter:You need id at a bank because the bank does not want to give it's money to the wrong person or they would not remain in business for long. |
raumdeuter:A bank needs an ID to know whose account to debit when you withdraw money so they don't debit the wrong account. And do know that I'd be using a bank statement in conjunction with the letter you sent me when I registered to vote, Raud. |
raumdeuter:Work collects your resume, pays money into your bank account, and the id they give you shows them that is you and that you are employed by them and are whom they pay, Raud, while your gym ID shows the gym you go to and tells your employer you keep fit. See why your workplace might not accept your gym ID now, Raud? |
raumdeuter:Actually, there is a lot that's different. Go read why some nations vehemently object to them if you haven't already, but if there's no difference, as you now claim, I guess my workplace ID or even my gym ID should make no difference too since they too "simply identify you with your face". raumdeuter:If your man wins, he gets to mandate your affairs how he wants, but 4 years time will come, and your man might lose, and no IDs might be mandated by whoever wins. It's a democracy. And this is America, Raud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYgKmOJT_gM |
benalvino3:Those months must have been very long if you had failed to notice the difference between Id and government issued ID, after all, I have continuously mentioned the letter you sent me, and my workplace id too. Ever asked yourself why you can't accept my workplace id as sufficient Id to vote, Ben? They do usually have photographs on them, so why not? |
raumdeuter:A workplace id gives access to areas an employer may have spent vast amounts of money equipping that they would not want any odd person accessing so it might not be stolen or cause harm, while voting gives you access to one single vote! |
raumdeuter:Your "if" and "probably" show you don't know of what you speak. Government issued ID cards are a whole new different battle all together, which both Republicans and Democrats would oppose once someone suggests it. You always needed id for transactions in a bank, Raud, especially in America where some gun totting cowboy could come in with a gun and help themselves to what you hold in a bank. Id was required to know who's account to debit. I am not going to bother repeating my objection to your claim that "voting is government business". It isn't. Government, itself, in a democracy, is not government business, but the business of the people who vote. |
benalvino3:I have no issues with "ID", Ben, I might have ID from my workplace I don't mind presenting, but if you bothered to read, you'd notice we are not talking "ID", but "government issued ID". If I were American I would not like it being turned into China. |
benalvino3:Ben, you introduce yourselves so it's rather easy to identify you for what you are. I mean "you go one go you all", like the mindless sheep that you are, no? |
raumdeuter:And that's democracy. Not everyone wants the same thing for different reasons, so you vote to decide what you get. raumdeuter:Raud, there are many ways you can ensure elections have integrity, and America, that has been at it for so long, has actually managed to do so until drumphgtf refused to accept he lost and voter IDs will improve integrity. Motive, you see. If this were being introduced for reasons you mention most wouldn't mind, but we've seen where it's being introduced and it's effect is to remove the rights of some class of people to exercise their right to vote, and I am personally glad that the electorate has decided to fight to retain their right to vote instead of allowing some to abrogate to themselves the right to permit that right. |
DissTroy:You have no such powers to affect when I decide to respond to you or how I feel, diss, is the point you miss. It's not only my body, you see, but my mind too. |
benalvino3:I don't know if you expect me to defend ever crack pot claiming to be liberal or left, Ben, or do you? Nor, hopefully, do you think that person is typical of what you call lefty liberals, though I bet you do.
|
raumdeuter:I can't have problems with Florida "saying that teaching of sexual education should only be done by parents to children under 7yrs". It's democratic America. If people in Florida don't like it they can kick him out at the next elections and put what they like in there. raumdeuter:It's not a bank, Raud. You should expect the security on your bank to be far more stringent than you casting one single vote unless you don't want me to vote just as you might rather I don't take my money out your bank. |
Dtruthspeaker:You know buda does not run along where you are concerned, dt. Can't have you spreading the untruths you learned as truths now, can we. |

DissTroy:So says the god disstroy. Now jail me, why don't you? |
raumdeuter:Government should pass policies that ensure children learn about reproduction at as an early age as possible, and 6 is about right, as that's early in the school age, and is likely to be the first time in their lives that they would be without the protection of a parent and would need to start recognising dangers for themselves. The letter does have a code you can scan to ensure the letter is not a copy, right? If anyone picks up my letter and votes in my name, I will not be able to pick it up myself and vote, but hopefully, you know my vote is very important to me, and you expect me to have complained at not having received my letter to vote long before voting day, for which you can simply cancel the previous issued letter and send me another letter, and arrest and imprison the impersonator, right? |
raumdeuter:I did say I teach my children at 3 before govt teaches them at 6, Raud. It's called responsible parenting. And once I teach my child at 3 they shall not depart from my teaching. They sent a letter to my house acknowledging I registered to vote. That letter should be sufficient since it is government issued. I will not have it if it were not sent to me, and if it is not my letter, you'd know when the proper person turns up to vote or report their letter missing. So no need to inconvenience a large swathe of voters for the sins or errors of the few. Please know that you don't grant me rights. They are my rights, not preserved for me, but that I already own because they are my rights regardless of whether you grant them or not! |
