Why? Will "God, the Creator of heaven and earth" rain down brimstone and thunder on him for reading a book, elated?

Is "God, the Creator of heaven and earth" the God of boko haram too? They say the same about their God, whom they also claim is "God, the Creator of heaven and earth", and they too refer to a book.

Politics › Fg’s N1.6trn Debt Frustrating Power Generation by budaatum(op): 6:05pm On Mar 15, 2022
Power generation companies in Nigeria (GenCos), have attributed the continued epileptic power supply across the country to illiquidity, caused by the N1.644 trillion owed them by the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET).

This follows the recent report by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), ascribing low power generation to GenCos inability to generate power.

According to Ogaji, total debts owed as at 2015 was N214.93 billion, N273.32 billion in 2016; N236.47 in 2017, N264.08 billion in 2018.

Others include: N256.97 billion, N266.01 billion and N120.25 billion and 12.01 in 2019,2020, 2021 and January 2022 respectively.

“Illiquidity, caused by the huge sums owed GenCos by the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET), has more than ever before continued to frustrate the GenCos and keep them incapable of meeting their obligations which are extremely necessary to keep their power plants running and make capacities available, while observing required Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.

Jobs/Vacancies › The Promise Of Africa’s Youth by budaatum(op): 12:49am On Mar 15, 2022
Relatively young populations can translate into more productive labour forces and solid economic growth

Africa is the youngest continent - by 2030, 40% of the world’s young people will be African, and 75% of the region’s population will be under 35, according to the African Union Commission. This could be a tremendous resource, as demonstrated by the young workforce that helped to rapidly industrialize East Asia. In the case of Africa, however, growing young populations have encountered relatively stagnant labour markets, raising questions about whether the continent will be able to reap its demographic dividend. To date, young Africans have had limited access and opportunities to productively participate in economies. The International Labour Organisation has found that every year, 11 million young Africans join the labour force though there are only 3.7 million jobs that are being created. As a result, in sub-Saharan Africa an estimated 14% of the people aged between 15 and 24 are unemployed, and many of those who are employed find themselves counted among the working poor, sustaining the region’ relatively high poverty rates. In order to effectively reverse this trend, Africa needs to create a total of 18 million new, high-productivity jobs by 2035.

Still, even if those new, quality jobs are created, the continent’s education systems and skills training programs need to be reformulated - to ensure that young people have the skills required for both current and future employment opportunities. While education enrolment in the region has generally increased, the Mo Ibrahim Foundation has found that unemployment rates are much higher among people with advanced levels of education than among those with basic education. This suggests that African youth are simply not adequately prepared to meet current labour market demands. The future of Africa rests on its people, so it is paramount to include a focus on young people in any economic development plans. Such political prioritization could finally help realize a demographic dividend; African governments should craft policies and platforms where young people are included at all levels of decision making. In addition, governments can increase their investment in technology innovation and educational upskilling, to better prepare young people for more highly-productive jobs. Governments can also invest more in related infrastructure, to lower connectivity costs and expand access to financial services in ways that bolster youth entrepreneurship.

In my opinion, He's wrong for attacking Ukraine, but my focus is not that, it is the fact that Ukraine is being used to further their aims, both the US, West and Russia.

Russia may be looking for a way to have confrontations with the West and the US, they got Ukraine to try their nonsense. The West and US on the other hand, played into it to get their aim which is to target the Russian economy.

Both sides have made Ukraine to suffer and instead of them to find a way to deescalate issues, they are lying outrightly, thereby, luring innocent people to come into Ukraine to die.

He is very wrong, and we should blame and punish him, which is what the sanctions are meant to do.

Unfortunately, punishing him too much will implode the fragile economies they have already built up. Just you imagine a $30T in debt United States in a recession.

This is the beginning. Dormant pumps will replace oil but gas is a little bit harder to replace, hence electric, some say. Personally, I think the future is nuclear, but see how some don't want some to have light. I force you not though, mind.

I wish the world cared about Ukraine, but unfortunately Ukraine is more or less part of Russia, in the minds of many including Russia and lots of Europe, and then there's gas, or rather, energy, which Russia has been supplying western Europe since 1900 including non-stop all through the Cold War.

1 billion dollars is what sanctioned Russia, 144 million people, is being paid for gas a day. I'll take them seriously when it's closer to zero, though it's going to cost me.

Read? Please what do you think has been happening for a while now through the media?

Most of the echoes going on here are analysis of people's agenda. They say what they want, push it into the mainstream and force everyone to accept it or be labeled negatively.

Know this, WE ARE ALL IMPRESSIONABLE. The basis of your decision making emanates from the things you see, hear or read, this is what has been happening. So don't pump in what some folks said on Guardian and force me to accept it thst way when I also have other materials with different opinions.

I may tilt towards a political party, but I will never follow all they say or want because everyone is an extremist on certain issues.
And that is why we must investigate and research, ask and knock and seek with all our own hearts and souls and minds and beings, Lively.

I hope the irony of my above does not elude you. The Guardian, and The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power by Daniel Yergin, Lively, and that's not the beginning, as I must have seen, heard or read other books and things too to find those two.

I'm impressing myself, you see. I'm seeing and hearing and reading all I can so my decision making is informed. And I'm not forcing you to accept anything! I'm merely bringing it to your attention because I feel it might interest you is all, because you showed you use your own mind to decide what you impress yourself with.

My apology if you felt forced.

What are the US and West doing to help stop the war?
You said:

Livelystone01:
The got what they've always wanted, that's to crush the Russian economy, now Ukraine seems to be the guinea pig.
First, they haven't yet got what they wanted because Putin is not yet crushed not to talk of Russia. But why are you expecting anyone to help Ukraine before they finish getting what they want?

My accusation is that you are not cynical enough, Lively. US and UK are there to crush Russia and not, to save Ukraine. If Ukraine's farm produce is off the market American farmers will rejoice, and if pipelines across Ukraine stop pumping Russian oil, pipes will flow from elsewhere. Canada oil is rejoicing at the moment.

OTTAWA -- Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson says it will be another week or two before Canada will know with certainty how much extra oil it can produce and ship to help offset bans on the use of fossil fuels from Russia.

But he says longer-term conversations about Canada partnering with Europe on renewable energy are likely more realistic and more lucrative.

As for history, I'm reading The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money, and Power by Daniel Yergin.

The history makes one realise that money motivates than any love for Ukraine.

The idea Ukraine is being used to target Russia is terrible and not true, why do you people never see Ukraine as a sovereign nation that's also concerned about its own security, if you read back history you will see there's been decades of Russian hostilities against Ukraine, current war is just a continuation of the madness Russia has always orchestrated in Ukraine, Putin even described Ukraine as a fictional country, how do you reconcile all this and think Ukraine will put themselves up as a bait for west to target Russia
One has to do the work and read some you see, instead of making things up in one's head which just happens to be easier.

Is this a thing you do often, Mayn, repeat the same question over and over while ignoring the answer you've been given?

When you read Things Fall Apart, do you quote the tortoise who said "my name is all of us", or do you quote China Achebe who wrote the book?

You question is the same as asking, "who is the tortoise that you are quoting"?

And my answer is, I am not quoting a tortoise, Mayn, I am quoting the words in a book that has been written and that has been read by us both, hopefully.
