@Cofactor
You are just saving face for APC and Buhari.
How can you claim they are neutral when the President himself was scheduled to meet with APC lawmakers before the Saraki and Dogara coup happened.
The party even sent a letter mandating the NASS to name it's appointees as NASS leaders |
Politics › Re: House Crisis: APC Lawmakers Vow To Ensure Speaker Dogara Obeys Party by Bugatie(m): 10:02am On Jun 27, 2015 |
Caseless: before the letter was transmitted to the NASS, there was a prior discussion on those to pick so as to bring peace to the party and the letter was just to make it official. Dogara and Saraki are just trying to create problems by being irreverent towards the party leadership. But don't you think such letter makes the Senate president and the Speaker mere rubber stamps of the party? For me, I'll say the party can lobby it's members but insisting of given names, makes them too autocratic and even it's members will likely revolt. |

olumide1911: President Buhari was sworn in on May 29, 2015, and has since then been accused of being too slow in taking important decisions concerning his administration.
Buhari has been especially criticized for his delay in appointing ministers, an action which many believe has prevented his administration from actually taking off. However, the President has taken some important steps since assuming office. 5 of them are: 1. Visiting Chad and Niger for talks on Boko Haram. 2. Attending and taking a place of honour at the G7 summit where he secured the help of the US and the UK for the fight against terrorism. 3. Relocating Military Command Centre to Maiduguri to intensify the fight against Boko Haram. 4. Ordering the removal of military checkpoints across the country. 5. Dissolving the board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Eden1747: This is totally a lie. If indeed you were at the bank, what was I putting on?, what did Mr Soetan who was in the cubicle with him say to calm me down?, you're most probably an ecobank staff but I seriously doubt that you're in badagry. Another eyewitness on the front page saw everything. I'm well known at ECOBANK badagry, it used to be my working account when they were Oceanic, so why would I walk in with an attitude? There was no queue. The office assistant took some files to him and scurried away. I was coming from jumat service and someone in the cubicle was asking which mosque I worshipped at. He wasn't attending to anyone. Do you think I enjoy telling the world that someone called me a goat? And since you claim you were there for your BVN, the CSM's cubicle is not where customers were for verification. All liars go to hell biblically. In Islam, you'd be hung by your tongue with the fires of hell burning you. I hope you know that. Now this is a twist. |

I get the vibes that the lady who posted the first story was rude to the banker fellow, coming to Nairaland to post that kind of story means she wants the guy to lose his job, that is very bad of her. In this day and age, some insults are best swallowed for the sake of good.
A mean spirited lady who thinks she is owed an explanation! Spot on, but if the guy was rude as claimed by Eden, good, let him be punished by his office. This won't be difficult to confirm as the bank can replay it's CCTV recording |

Charism: I saw this thread in frontpage today by Eden1747(f).
I was @ECOBANK badagry earlier today to collect my BVN number, and I witnessed first hand the drama and ensued between you and the CSM. I noticed that your account of the story was not exactely what happened. I would have chose to overlook it when I saw it on nairaland, but for prosterity sake I would say the real truth. Mind to share your own version of the story cos you might be saving someone's job. As a service person I understand how much self control it takes for one to maintain his or cool when attending to irate customers especially when they are in their numbers. The BVN registration did not make things any easier for the bank staff especially with the last minute surge of customers who besieged the banks as if the whole exercise just started yesterday. I was at one of the banks today, First bank precisely and could not help "slamming" another customer for insulting a bank staff just because the staff asked that the lady allow a heavily pregnant woman do her transaction first. The customer couldn't take any of it but referred to the staff as "stupid" for keeping her waiting. Other customers joined in reprimanding the lady. My point is, stories are not always as straight as narrated, you can imagine the lady's version of the incidence. Am not by any means making defence for the Ecobank guy in question but I find to believe he will so careless to refer to a customer as a goat. A look at the picture below will give you an idea of the crowd most banks have been facing lately.

ALISMILE: Authorities of the Presidential Villa, Abuja have formally removed officials of the Department of State Services from spots where they can perform “close protection roles” for President Muhammadu Buhari. The decision to restrict the officials’ access to the President was the peak of the inter-agency rivalry that has been rocking security agencies in the seat of power since Buhari was inaugurated on May 29. Our correspondent on Thursday saw a copy of a memo redeploying the DSS officials from 10 beats that they had hitherto been manning inside the Villa. The memo issued by the Aide-De-Camp to the President, Lt. Col. Lawal Abubakar, and dated June 24, 2015 was titled, “Redeployment of Department of State Services personnel from close protection roles for Mr. President and some duty locations within the Presidential Villa, Abuja.” www.punchng.com/news/dss-officials-barred-from-close-protection-of-buhari/ Close protection? Politics › Re: National Assembly Crisis: Buhari Backs Apc’s Stand by Bugatie(m): 6:07am On Jun 26, 2015 |
Flirtval: The President spoke yesterday on the National Assembly crisis, saying he expected the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers to toe the party’s line in the election of principal officers. Senate President Bukola Saraki yesterday announced the names of principal officers and adjourned plenary till July 21. President Muhammadu Buhari said: “The party did a straw poll – an open and transparent one – which should have been respected. There is no confusion about anything. The party did a process, the President had wished that the party would take that to the very end but that didn’t happen,” presidential spokesman Garba Shehu said. “The President has a responsibility to the party; the President has a responsibility to the nation and as far as we are looking at the situation, it has not gotten out of control. It is still within manageable parameters; it is a little storm. We will overcome and Nigerians better get used to it,” he added while speaking on Channels Television. Although APC senators maintained the peace inspite of the disagreement of the Senator Ahmed Lawan‘s supporters with the list of principal officers announced by Saraki, which is in contradiction to that sent to the Senate President by the APC, the party rejected Saraki’s list. On Saraki’s list are: Senate Leader Ali Ndume (Borno South), who is standing trial for alleged link to the terrorist sect, Boko Haram, Bala Ibn Na’Allah (Kebbi) Deputy Leader and Francis Alimikhena (Edo) Deputy Chief Whip. The name of the Chief Whip was not read. Last night, APC National Secretary Mai Mala Buni issued a statement tittled: “National Assembly crisis: We stand on our list of principal officers.” The statement said: “The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly condemned what transpired at both chambers of the National Assembly on Thursday, June 25th 2015. “The party stands by the list sent by the party to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. “The National Caucus, Board of Trustees (BOT) and National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party will meet within the next few days to discuss the evolving developments in the National Assembly.” On the party’s list are Lawan (Majority Leader); Prof. Sola Adeyeye (Chief Whip); Sen. George Akume (Deputy Majority Leader); and Sen. Abu Ibrahim (Deputy Chief Whip). For the House, the party listed Gbajabiamila (House Leader); Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa (Deputy House Leader); M. T. Monguno (Chief Whip) and Hon. Pally Iriase (Deputy Chief Whip). The President was expected to show leadership in the resolution of the crisis, but, according to Shehu, he offered not to interfere to assert the independence of the legislature. He said Buhari provided guidance while he left the APC leadership and governors to resolve the logjam. He added: “Politics, as its theory says, is basically about contest for interests and these interests may be fully defined by political party programme (while) some of these things may be outside political party programme.” ”They just cannot file up in a single line and say ‘here we are, we are all present’. “When the governors met with the President, they told him that ‘we are the leaders in our states and we have influence over all of these senators. They come from our places and from us and we can handle it. “The President mostly listened to what they were saying and in fairness to them, the governors took responsibility for the way forward. “They advised the President to maintain his posture not to be seen to be meddling in the affairs of the National Assembly; ‘stay above it and allow us to handle it’ and I think this is what you saw coming from the governors.” “As a leader, the President has given guidance… His own position is that if the eye troubles you, whatever medicine you’re going to apply, don’t put a pin. The President is not unconcerned.” As a result of tension in the National Assembly, state chairmen of APC were locked in a meeting last night in Abuja. No fewer than 28 of the 36 chairmen were in Abuja. A source said: “The chairmen were shocked that the party’s directive was disrespected by Senators and Representatives.” Source: www.thenationonlineng.net/new/national-assembly-crisis-buhari-backs-apcs-stand/ He's always 2 minutes late, taking a stand or claiming to back the party when a 'somewhat ' democratic process has been observed. |
