Hashabiah:There are many different sculptures at the UN donated by many different groups, countries or cultures at different times since inception. |
powerblaze:And you think what he is doing will save you or him if the world actually ends? Clowns. Frantic calls my ass |
Another thing I noticed which is perhaps a very dishonest trick on the part of the conspiracy theorists is that they took the pick of the statue from an angle that will make the color patterns less obvious. A cursory search on the internet revealed a picture of the statue from a better angle with a full bright colors in display. The color patterns would have made the culture behind the statue very obvious. I hope the mods push this to the front page as well so we can disabuse people of some wrong notions that thread has already impressed on them. @lalasticlala @osytein @mukina2

I am sure you might have seen the thread where someone was claiming the winged cat sculpture at the UN is an augury for the arrival of the anti-christ. https://www.nairaland.com/6887107/new-united-nations-guardian-sculpture Now since I am not a Christian myself, I am prone to looking at things from a very different perspective. I might be wrong but hear me out first. My first thought when I saw the image was to think it was a griffin or one of those creatures from Greek mythology like a sphinx or something. But griffins have the head of an eagle so that doesn't count. Another thing that stood out to me were the patterns on the body of the animal. I knew seen similar patterns before couldn't quite place them. Then I remembered it was donated by the government of a city in Mexico that most Mesoamerican cultures have affinity for jaguars especially and most of their gods and folktales are built around those animals. From there things became more logical and straightforward. The patterns were familiar because I had seen something similar in the Disney animated movie Coco. That's a very nice movie with a great story and very lovely songs I will recommend that movie for anyone of any age but I digress. The movie is built on Mexican folklore and in the movie there is a mythological creature that looks like that statue. The statue is just an Alebrije artwork that is common in Mexico. And those artworks usually like mixing up creatures together. In the movie Coco, there is a big mythical beast that looks almost like the sculpture and the dog became an Alebrije in the end. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alebrije TL;DR That statue in the UN is just an Alebrije artwork in celebration of Mexican culture and has nothing to do with any conspiracy theory.

Lol. So a winged jaguar or perhaps even a griffin which is a mythical creature from Greek mythology or even the mythology of the culture that donated it, is what is making our resident lunatic on Nairaland to start dancing naked again. SMH Do these fanatics and religious nitwits even know since how long and how many places winged lions have been used as emblems and statues or even insignias? I guess all those places throughout history have also been a sign of the endtime. |
kingscare1:So because you are powerless and hopeless and being grinded like a goat, you just naturally assumed everyone is like you and needs a source of power? ![]() |
Lol. Nigerians will never have sense. They will always believe in some bullshit juju to work for them. Yet they won't ask themselves why the person peddling the juju is not among the greatest people on earth. People have juju for disappearing but you will never hear that they disappeared into a bank vault to pack money or disappeared to America. It is always in foolish illiterate hearsay that juju works and never in reality. Immediately you ask them to prove that juju works despite boasting that it does, they will tell you to come to one useless village to see it. Dumb nonsense. |
timefarm:Mumu talk. Nigerians and religious delusions. |
KingGBsky:Another illiterate that is supporting foolishness. If only the end will tell then why are you supporting the clown using his illiteracy to pollute every thread? |
marttol:This idiot has left the crux of the argument and asking about how old I am. ![]() Keep looking for excuses for your failures in life. If you like be 50 years old. If you keep thinking others are the reason for your failures, you will still be having this argument with teenagers by the time you are 70. Keep wishing others will have a failed life like yours so that they will gbon. ![]() What a silly old fool. |
marttol:Oponu. You that you aren't praising and ass licking as you called it, what have you achieved with your life? You that you aren't a slave, what are you the master of? Too many numbskulls with single-digit IQ on Nairaland. Cannot even think properly before making arguments. I feel sorry for you. No wonder you are looking for who to blame for your misery ![]() |
marttol:Look at the little clown talking. What do you yourself know about anything apart from what you read. Oh I forgot, you don't even read at all. Nitwit. ![]() |
Tellwhat:Why stop at dated? Why not also avoid girls that have lived in the same compound with Yahoo boy before? Since juju is real? What about if she doesn't tell you? How would you dig? What about if the girls great grandmother was a witch has cursed only the girl? What if one babalawo cursed her one time? What about if her uncle used her for juju while she was living with them? What about if she stepped on juju when she was young? What about.....x? What about.....y? I hope you see the pointlessness of the foolishness the OP is championing. The OP is one of those calibre of halfwits in Nigeria who climb mountains at the slightest taste of failure instead of retracing their steps and doing what is suited to their strength. Many great people have failed in the past. They took it as a life lesson. It's only in Africa people fear the taste of failure and look for who to blame immediately things go do south. |
SSpeter:More dumb nonsense. Even billionaires lose all and sometimes have to start over. If Steve Jobs was in the position of some of you morons, when he was kicked out of Apple he would have been blaming one Yahoo boy somewhere. Dumb nonsense. |
BabbanBura:I would have agreed with you if there was an abundance of job in Nigeria. Most of them aren't lazy. They are just desperate. And many are not as enlightened as you are to appreciate the attendant dangers of those jobs. Some are desperate enough to damn the consequences. Trust me if there are enough jobs for people to do in Nigeria, most of these stories will reduce. |
GamalNasser:This boy and dumb conspiracy theories again. Every single case. Lol All you had to do was just do a Google search instead of mouthing off as usual. |
Lol. We that have functional brains know all pastors and prophets are liars anyway. It was dumb religious people that fell for her lie in the first place. Later they will all claim they have the holy spirit revealing things to them. Clowns |
doyin68:Like I said, keep fooling yourself. As if we don't know what you mean by siege has nothing to do with heaven but implies impediments to physical prosperity. See confusion. Mrs MakeHeaven ![]() |
Lol. You guys have been doing shit like this for almost 3 decades yet the state of the average church member of RCCG seems to be getting worse. If the siege wasn't over last year and 2 years before, trust me it isn't over now. The moment you guys realize that economic mismanagement and bad politics is why you are in this mess and decide to correct it that's when the siege will be over. I wonder how you want the siege to be over when there are more churches than industries and many where houses and offices have now been converted to fellowship centers. Keep fooling yourselves. ![]() |
hakeem4:Lol. |
chriskosherbal:Stories. You are talking as if you have died before and know for sure what is in the afterlife. You religious people are funny. ![]() |
realray:More religious drivel. This is nothing but a display of ignorance and a big inability for deep thought. So what about the remaining millions of sperm that didn't fertilize the egg during sex? Are they used to create demons too? Why do demons, which are by nature spiritual, need physical sperms to exist? Is this not thoughtlessness? What about if a man goes to do a sperm test in a medical facility? Does he inadvertently produce a million demons too? When will religion actually help you people think a little bit? |
IsraelOA:That is what happens when a mind is so handicapped by religion it can't even remember the most basic and we'll-known scientific facts anymore. |
cococandy: ![]() May God forgive you for making me embarrass myself with a sudden burst of laughter inside a crowded bus. ![]() |
Botking:Hitler had haters and violent opposition too. Going by your analogy he had a great spirit as well. Too many dumb mugus in Christianity. You and Righteousness2 are perfect examples of thoughtless foolishness that is masquerading as piety. |
LoveJesus87:Pity yourself for being delusional. ![]() |
ZombiePUNISHER:And I have no time for thoughtless morons. Have a lovely day. |
ZombiePUNISHER:The typical moronic Chosen member quickly assumes I am a Muslim despite everything I wrote up there. If only you had the intelligence to read and comprehend simple sentences. What a disgrace ![]() |
Adeh2009:Another dumb Chosen member. You have been living in the end times for 2000 years. Yet your delusional ass thinks it's your time the end will come. What a clown. |
Righteousness2:Lol. By now everyone knows you are a joke. This clown that saw a news about the annual migration of crabs in the Christmas Island and began to lose his mind about the end of time wants to make us think this is another "sign". We have been saying it here that religion is bad for your health and this guy comes along to prove us right. And he has managed to make a mockery of Christianity more than we could ever hope to do. Typical Lord's Chosen member. No finesse or savvy. Just crude methods all the time. |
This is what malnutrition does to the human brain. You start hearing voices and seeing things. No go find work. Be on Nairaland claiming authority and importance you lack in real life. Religious nonentities ![]() |
