Baso2019:I am seriously struggling with understanding why all your remarks are rude. Sincerely, you can make your point without being rude. I am giving you valuable skills you need to succeed and the reality of things. It is not your own creation that ABSU is poorly regarded and honestly, you should improve your communications skills and your temperament |

keandre:Just save this your sweet story until you apply for job in a serious reputable organization. As an insider in recruitment from A-list organizations,I will tell you for free that those organizations don't hire from schools like ABSU even when they were not admittng candidates with 30% scores in utme. In fact, if you finish from schools like absu,my advice to you is to get a Masters from schools like UNILAG et al to cancel the demerit points caused by attending a poorly rated school like Absu. I pity smart ones who weren't lucky to attend the major schools highly regarded and favored by Top tier organizations but unfortunately, life itself is not fair. If you are one of these few ones, please take my advice so you won't later see the stark reality that ABSU is poorly regarded in employment circles of Top tier organizations 1 Like |

Topmaike007:That's a big fat lie. It's actually glorified secondary schools like absu that requested for 120 (30%) cut off mark because that's what they do in their University.Name one serious organization that hire products of schools like absu? I pity their alumni because they are in serious trouble |

bub lordyugo:I witnessed both eras and I am more suitable to guide and correct you.Your definition of Nollywood as the commercialization of Nigerian films is patently wrong and even if I agree with you for the purpose of this argument, then you are still wrong because I remember watching these older films at the national theatre,Iganmu and those films are commercialized because these films are advertised on local TV and radio stations and Nigerians pay to buy their tickets and the queue is usually long and they are shown over a period of time making room for the artists to make even more money. 4 Likes |

steppins:You can argue that it is pacesetter of Home movie and most likely the English-Igbo genre of Nigerian films but definitely not Nollywood. As at when it came,Nigeria and Nigerians have made their mark in the entertainment world. Please read about the likes of Campbell, Olu Jacobs etc who are Nigerians who have acted in major international films and the great artists that represented Nigeria globally before , during and after Festac '77. It's insulting to delete their efforts and contributions because you weren't born then 7 Likes |

ELKHALIFAISIS:Okay I see a small boy on the thread I expect should be intellectual. Nollywood is a national heritage and it didn't start with Living in Bondage. As you can see, others, even Samanja , from the north, were players in the Nollywood project before the English-Igbo genre of Nollywood. It's a national shame if our young ones like you have a poor sense of our national history, hence I am intervening to educate you.Like I said,I don't do tribalism because I was born and raised among all the beautiful Nigerian tribes and there was no Nairaland to corrupt my patriotism when I was your age 13 Likes 1 Share |

lordyugo:Please don't bring in a completely different line of argument. My emphasis is on the history of Nollywood as symbolism of the Nigerian films industry.Celluloid technology and other older technology existed before the era of mass dubbing and it doesn't mean that the era of home video birthed Nollywood. If you want to bring another argument on home video, let us first agree on the fact that it's completely false to say Living in bondage is the beginning of Nollywood 5 Likes |

Even the epic 'Things Fall Apart' by Pete Edochie came before Living in Bondage',Soaps like Village Headmaster, Basi & Company, New Masquerade came before Living in bondage, except you want to say you have fact that they are not Nigerian films, so I am educating you on your poor history of Nigerian entertainment.Remember, you can not blackmail truth. 4 Likes |

luvinhubby:You see. That is the problem with you young ones, lack of humility. I just mentioned and listed films that are Nigerian films even with national popularity and you can easily and humbly read about them online. There are films like Block busters like Aiye by Hubert Ogunde Group,Taxi Driver by Ade Love the father of the popular Afolayan brothers, Duro Ladipo group that were the awada kerikeri group, Baba Sala with that film he was shown committing suicide in a train track and so many other films of Nigerian actors and theater you may be too young to know and can easily read on. Nollywood never started with living in bondage and it is pure ignorance to say that publicly. The English-Igbo genre of Nigerian films came to the table very very very late and that's why it lacked depth like the preexisting genre of Nigerian films led by the Hubert Ogunde et al. I just corrected and educated you with love 18 Likes 1 Share |

luvinhubby:This is not the beginning of nollywood, this ignorance has to stop. This beautiful film at best is the beginning of the English-Igbo genre of Nigerian films coming several decades after the Baba Sala,Ade Love,Hubert Ogunde etc of Nollywood. This is how history is being corrupted and centuries later people will be parading different history of the same country.O ga o. Even Nollywood itself is older than Kenneth Okonkwo himself. 49 Likes 2 Shares |

I don't believe poo about this. All the Indians I have met in my life are humble, respectful and hardworking. They, like every other nationalities, have tremendous respect for people who are excellent in what they do. I have never met a single Indian that is racist. Internet has a way of making nonsense of the effort of those in the majority so if you take the op serious, you do so at your peril |

OBAGADAFFI:You are still not getting me sir. The man posted the picture of a child showing signs likely to be suspected of juvenile diabetes, now someone who is a professional trained in that field drew his attention to what her trained eyes is suspecting,if I am the father,I will take the advice or politely decline the professional advice especially when I know that I am already addressing the issue. For the Pharmacist, after the father has rudely responded, she can use the opportunity to create more awareness but not necessarily using the child especially outside clinical settings. What I find distasteful is the professional arrogance of the Pharmacist and the lack of humility of the father to accept that the issue at stake is in the interest of his child's health. Finally,if the child is already getting medical help, the pictures taken over the different period would have shown so and this makes the issue still relevant. You may be surprised that the mother of this child would have handled this issue differently because mother's definitely are more emotionally and biologically matured to handle babies especially in young parents. Seyilaw this is not law or comedy,Kemi seriously capitalized on her professional edge to"beat" and ridicule a pompous Seyi silly |

OBAGADAFFI:You see you are confusing the professional angle with the notoriety of this new media like Kemi too. It's not an assumption, she is professionally competent and licensed to provide healthcare and public education on this issue sir. The intention and the arrogance she's shown up till now as contemptuous as it is still doesn't diminish her professional responsibility. I know a family that their daughter has a similar problem and it was an experienced pharmacist who first detected this ailment and referred the child to a specialist on the Island. The father of the child is clearly not handling this case well,if he his child is receiving care,he should just say it and share his experience if he is willing to do so at least to encourage other parents in similar situations. I think both parties are too arrogant for my liking |

gbosaa:Apparently you hate her so much that you almost sounded as if in cases like this, her professional training as a pharmacist is less than that of a doctor(I assume you mean a medical doctor). You are so wrong kemi-hater. Kemi as a pharmacist can make a referral to,not even a GP but a specialist in that area and any area in the field of healthcare and write a cover letter with her signature. She's not only professionally qualified to refer, she is equally clinically experienced to query the therapeutic plan after referral and may God save you or your family from a medical error that escape the attention and detection of a pharmacist 1 Like |

The op is not helping matters. We all need one another and no single nation can be an island onto itself especially a fabled Biafra that would be encircled by Nigeria because it has no direct access to the sea. There are northerners in Igboland who are contributing to the peace and prosperity of Igboland and vice versa for the northerners. Let there be peace in our nation.long live Nigeria. |

I love that song alot but I have often thought about the issue the op has raised. It's been played on radio too. I don't believe he can be telling people to do crime when he warned against stealing to become rich in the chorus. Apart from Bernard,Ugo,the only full name on the track is Bayo Fajuola, all other names like Jaguar,Mr White,Hushpuppi etc are a.k.a. This 9ice and controversy sef smh. |
