Saraki Has Nothing to Do With Importation of Vehicle, Says Aide

Special Adviser to Senate President on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu has stated that the allegation raised today by Senator Ali Ndume linking Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki to the importation of vehicle lacks basis as it was outright falsehood.

In a press statement, Olaniyonu said from the facts and documents about the seized vehicle, it is obvious that the Senate President has nothing to do with the importation of any vehicle.

"A supplier was engaged by the Senate to supply a vehicle. While transferring the vehicle between Lagos and Abuja, it was impounded by the Customs. We believe that is an issue between the supplier and the Customs because the Senate has not taken delivery. So, why is somebody trying to drag in the name of Saraki into the issue.

"The documents on the vehicle are there for the general public to view and make their conclusions. Now, that the matter has been referred to the Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, all the facts will be out", Olaniyonu stated.

There should not be any form of negative comparison between Lag and Anambra except for good governance and development. It is a healthy competiton and it can only get better.

Anambra is a state in Nigeria.. So also, Lagos and the rest of the states. When we see good thing, we applaud and when it is below bar, we complain for the betterment of the country at large.

This is laudable. Well done Governor Obiano... I am happy we have some people working hard to make this country of ours great again.

I'm surprised you understand that there are people ready to buy up all the dollars to create scarcity and you don't still think they could still buy more when the cbn pumps more dollars into the market.

You raised a point about making dollars cheap and accessible to common man that needs medical attention and the likes outside the country. What's stopping cbn from closing down bdc and allowing only banks to sell?

Everyone wants the government to kill this business of dollars speculation but it's common sense to know that this method is outrageous and not carefully thought. They will only end up depleting our reserves.

So 2017 budget has not been passed up till now? Abeg let's tell ourselves truth wahala dey.

By the time we realise that this money we are using to defend the naira would have been better served improving our education, health, power and infrastructure sector, it may have cost us another 10 years.

Improve our other sectors and see if naira will not gain. There won't be pressure on dollars by students, patients, those seeking to relocate or whatever.

And if you tell me that money is being pumped into those sectors too then I laugh.
