The National Youth Service Corps has been
criticised for its online call-up letter, which
requires prospective corps members to pay
N4,000 to download a copy.
According to the President of Women Arise,
Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin, charging a fee to
download call-up letters is like defrauding
Nigerian graduates.
The NYSC management had earlier defended
the fee, saying the online portal was designed
to safeguard the lives of intending corps
members and to eliminate forgery.
Defending the payment, the Director of Corps
Mobilisation in NYSC, Mr. Anthony Ani, had
said, “Before orientation, every prospective
corps member has to pass through a long
process, including travelling to collect call-up
letters. Sometimes many corps members
have died while travelling to get their call-up
letters, and most times, school officials may
not be there.
“Coming to camp, you meet long queues
during registration, while others bring fake
call-up letters. Some prospective corps
members change their dates of birth because
they want to serve and get discharge
certificates. Some institutions are admitting
students without passing through the Joint
Admissions and Matriculation Board and
enfolding them into unaccredited courses.”
However, Okei-Odumakin described the step
taken by the NYSC as exploitative.
She said, “I believe this is another avenue of
exploiting the already pauperised Nigerian
youths, who are daily being subjected to all
forms of exploitation without recourse to the
prevailing economic reality in our society.”
Similarly, a lawyer and social commentator,
Olufunke Oluwole, though commending the
NYSC’s initiative, said the fee should have
been less.
Oluwole said, “No, Nigerian should not be
cheated again by a parastatal coming up with
get-rich-quick schemes for enriching the
pockets of a few. The proposed payment is
unacceptable and we should, with one voice,
raise a standard against this kind of behaviour
rearing its ugly head again.
“I am appalled at the news that the NYSC
intends to charge a fee for downloads of call-
up letters. It is indeed reminiscent of the
Nigeria Immigration Scheme employment
saga that resulted in loss of innocent young
lives, a few months ago.”
The legal practitioner added that the NYSC
directive to prospective corps members “is an
obvious failure of the system to understand
that its processes and manner of application
are a function of its performance and such a
burden should not be passed to the
beneficiary at any point in time.”

I don't agree with you @ op. Everybody have a special quality or qualities they need from who they choose to be their partner. That is what I called TAST. I can't settle for less.
I know what I want and I simply work to get it. I dislike short girls with passion, no matter how beautiful or hot she is, I can't just see myself dating or even moving with a very short girl because am not short, so I need somebody that will @ least reach my shoulder. My girl is up to a reasonable height, so I can't see my self ending up with a very short girl no matter what, even if she is the daughter of dangote.
My dear physical character is sometimes needed, if you want to spend your entire life with the person. How will a short man marry a short woman? What generation do you want them to produce? Generation of yam tubers or what?

There is this lady in my office, that never take correctiosn. Anytime you correct her, she won't greet you for days until you confront her. The gentlemen in the office now avoid her like Ebola. She always feel, she's right even when a blind man is seeing that she is wrong. I just pity the kind of man she will get married to...
My point is that ladies should learn to take corrections where necessary, they should know people re watching them. In as much as they are concern about their looks, they should also be concern about their personality.

Everybody wants to marry

I keep asking my self this question over and over again. What's really the main reason we get married...
Do we get married because of LOVE or because we need HELPMATE or because we need CHILDREN?
There are some persons that just don't want to get married in an ordinary situation, but one or more of these force them to get married at the end. Some said it's God divine rules to get married, does it mean the unmarried is unrighteous?
I know it's different stroke for different folks. So why do we get married?

It's a very welcome idea but depend on the way you broke up with your ex. If you separated amicably, you can always get some certain bad trait about yourself. When you are together, your lover will hardly tell you these things, so you won't get offended.
It has happen to me, no body is perfect, there are some bad traits I ve put off today simply because my ex told me when we were chatting. Its never a bad idea but make sure it's the nice one who u always communicate with but no sexual attachment.

Am not a fan of heavy makeup though.

In other climes, the effect on the ears and skin could be corrected through the use of 'beats by dre' special enhancers or petroleum jelly by unilever....

This has been begging for answers, why do most brilliant people use glasses. In school, all the guy that use glasses in my department are intellgent. They are among those that top the department.

Even when you are putting on glasses, people just conclude you are intelligent. Why is it so and what is really special about glasses that make most guys that use it become academic scholars....

Ladies are wonderful creation from God. They keep the word in a dynamic state and can make a man do anything just to get them...
Most Ladies of recent are just so deceitful when it comes to beauty. There is nothing natural about them again. They do all kind of artifical attachment to look beautiful and when these artficial attachment are out of them, some look lke masquerade... Imagine a woman will fix artificial eyelashes, artificial eyes, artificial nails, artficial hair, aritficial breast, artifical face( powerful makeup) and even artificial backside. These artifcial attachment make some ugly ladies become so beautful and pretty when they come out in public. For me 60% of most ladies beauty are deceitful, it is what I called FALSE beauty. I begin to ask myself if some ladies can do without all these artificial attachment.
I found out the best way to know if a girl is naturally beautful is to see her in the morning when she just woke up from sleep or looking at their passport where some don't have the opportunity to makeup before taking it. Some look so horrble in such circumstances.
I witness a stuation where some guys were snaping photos and they called some of the ladies to join them but they refused, simply because they were not on make up. I was so suprised. Ever since then, ladies pics on facebook, BBM, twitter and other social network does not move me, because some are FALSE beauty.
The only way I can tell a lady,"she is very beautful" is when I see her without artificial attachmentm... When a lady looks beautiful without those attachment, she is then NATUTALLY BEAUTIFUL...

360command: There are some stubborn pimples wey b say u go try all sorts of rememdy but yet it will not go. Some ladies can cure such by exercising, gyming and some ladies pimples can heal when they give birth to a child.
