Education / Re: UNN Medical Sciences Admit Too Much, Then Trim Down To Quota With Mass Failures by Bvmsson(m): 10:50am On Dec 14, 2021
mrvitalis:
Being a super lion myself I don't see anything wrong here

UNN has never and from what I'm seeing would never reduce is exam standards for the sake of anyone

UNN has the highest quota is Medical science in Nigeria ..and only those who meets the requirements should go to other departments

The likes of soludo and chimamanda also failed out of UNN medicine but went on to do well in life

You really amuse me .....
A lot of you think it's by talking abi... Who told you that chimamanda and soludo failed out of medical school? That's a very big lie. For the records UNN has one of the highest quota for medicine but UI has the highest quota for medicine in Nigeria.

The problem is that they admit a lot of students and trim them down just like the OP said.... What do you think they will do to a student population of over 500 writing an exam when their quota is less than 200? Answer me? I have a friend in UI studying medicine and he said they are not even up to their quota in number and after the exams there are less casualties....

Abeg make una dey get sense ooo...

Some of these guys that failed really worked their asses out. I Know of a guy last year that is a really good student at anatomy, physiology and medical biochemistry but failed 2nd MBBS last year but he pass this time around.

In medical school you do Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry which some people do separately for 4 years each, so if you calculate it you will spend 12 years studying the 3 courses.

Medical students have to do it in 18 months and are expected to pass them all which is the status quo but for want of time already lost to covid-19 and ASUU strike UNN crunched together the 18 months and made it 8 months.

I heard they even told them that if they don't write it this year they will be merged with the lower class. They were not given enough time for preparation.... Believe me the students who passed are really few and deserving but their are some who had 49, 49 and 49 .... They tried their best even with the short time.

The school is to be blamed for this number of casualties because they admitted too much students then send them to college of medicine who are really strict with quota. The more you admit above your quota the more casualties there'll be but the less you admit the less casualties there'll be... Example of too much admission is Ambrose Ali University Epkoma which failed over 300 students and passed their quota.

Oga stop living a fallacy... I am an Igbo guy....
Am let me echo this to you ...ANAMBRA CAN NEVER SURPASS LAGOS

Lagos GDP is over $130bn...forget that old report from Wikipedia...
War or no war in anambra...u simply don't know what Lagos is..
And pls quit this self illusion and deceit that all the major imports are carried out by Igbos...the major imports sucking Nigeria's forex are done by NNPC by importing fuel, BUA, Dangote, FMN, food and chemical processing factories, and other major companies in Nigeria...even in cars and some machine importation are done directly by companies and multinational brands like bajaj, hisense, aliade and many more before they recouple them in their warehouses Only a small percentage especially the tokunbo goes to traders(Igbos)..and in total the worth isn't up to what those companies import...

And if u are using the Igbo's entrepreneur spirit built on business dominated by importing and reselling as a yardstick then ur delusional... Importation don't build an economy or add to GDP growth....but the state level of industrialisation and manufacturing is what adds up

Onitsha inland water port is not a sea port...Onitsha river remains a river ...no matter how you dredge it....a river remains a river and can not allow large Merck container ships to safely navigate through it hence can not host a deep sea port...
All the market in the SE including aba and Onitsha isn't up to all to all the market in Lagos put together...
Anambra hosting an international airport can never pose a threat to Lagos airport..the only airports at risk is IMO and Enugu airport....

Because you said you are an Igbo person doesn't mean I believe you....

Anambra is doing well...true...
But it doesn't and can never have what it takes to over take the richest, most populous and the only city with the highest GDP ...higher than 52 African countries...housing two busiest sea port in Africa ...one is about to join (lekki port)..busiest airport in west Africa... That Lagos

Well, ask yourself who the most importers
of those containers at Lagos are, I think we can start from there. Lagos is a very vibrate city that has the backing of the FG and it has not known any war that distroyed it partially or completely but Anambra along side other SE states were war ravaged (Nigerian civil war) and everything were destroyed completely so they had to start building from scratch. With over USD 6B GDP against USD 33B GDP of Lagos that have an international airport, seeport, and others it will only be a matter of time anambra will surprise Lagos.

I wish so much that someday very soon, you lot are are granted the independence you seek, just so we could do away with such hateful, wicked and evil heart that is derided of any human compassion or feelings.

Just imagine a blatantly unnecessary insensitive introduction of tribalism in a situation of mourning. How do you people even reason, is your cerebrum so useless it's been converted to plastic or nylon or what?

How exactly did the south west wrong you to always have to tolerate all your emotional taunting? How, for the God you worship sake?

I remember several of you people establishing your business around and live here unhindered!
Born and live in Lagos, lived 3 years in a suburb in Ogun, been to Ibadan and Osun, and study currently in Ilorin; in each of these placey, I notice you people are noticeably working, trading, and living unhindered, even in the suburb of a South West state! I could remember several of my Igbo neighbors using the term "Yoruba no good" loudly to our face, and we choose to demonstrate apathy yet, all because of our peace-loving nature.

What you people want to leave us to our lives is independence, right? Please, augment your efforts and go to Abuja, they're the one holding it.

We are humans and deserve some peace off these your constant emotional toiling, please. We really do.

One would come online for some breathe and catch some news, it would be some insensitive tribalistic slurs gracing one. Offline, I've been strewn in some bad experience with you guys at markets, like Ikotun market. In fact, in my street, I and my friends have had times we reached uncomfortable circumstances with the 'chemist' due to bad drugs market and poor business professionalism discharge.

I don't know what our people in your states do, if you get similar experience, report them to law and do as apt, rather than making life hell for us online and offline.
Abi Kini gan.

Lol... First of all I'm Yoruba and I'm from Sagamu in Ogun state... I'm saying this so you know before being incisive... Yorubas over here are not treated badly, people are just good and evil individually, people are either good or bad representatives of their culture....

I'm just citing a childhood experience and doing comparison here....Chao...

And suddenly he is completing projects..... he finished the airport, he is almost done completing the awka stadium, he is building a massive recreational park and now he is completing the international conference center and all these are capital projects....hmmmmm....This doesn't add up well.... Why now? What was he waiting for all the while?
Well, honestly I'm impressed... The poverty index of anambra state is really low, the education sector is doing just fine, businesses are booming, infrastructure is at a fast rate relative to other states, politics is by the people ....well.... There is still room for more development.

I still repeat that anambra has what it takes to do better than Lagos.....

I can't wait to see how soludo will transform this state.... I hope he does a better job.
