I know for a fact that Nigerian military folk, especially the top brass, do engage in international missions. Furthermore, Buratai has been involved in these missions for well over a decade. These high-cadre military men do get paid as much as the equivalent of N80million in US $ depending on specs, location and duration. I don't know what his basic salary is but it's my opinion that the issue isn't so much of what it was spent on as the source of the funds.
If however, he's found wanting after an investigation, I hope he's prosecuted accordingly because I no understand how this government dey manage to only jail 1 person, that Nimasa guy ( pls correct me) in over 1 yr and after all d whole allegations and efcc and court dates and so-called corruption war. |

If she wasn't a celebrity, he wouldn't have extended such credit to her. He gave the benefit of the doubt and got taken for a ride in return. One good turn deserves another. I shouldnt have to invest this much time to react to this. Nairaland needs an "unlike" button. tonykel1: This is not right at all. If she was not to be a celebrity, I am sure the boy wouldn't have posted this on a social media simply because he wants to denigrate Genevieve 's personality'. That boy needs to grow more since he is still growing. On how to grow-up, contact me through tonykelo@yahoo.com for detailed lecture. Leave Genevieve alone. |

Properties › Re: Selfish Nature Of Road Contractors In Nigeria(pic And Illustrations) by Calbarian(m): 9:02am On May 25, 2016 |
geniusgenes: Wickedness.... but then, i see the point. The road contractor is much more interested in the standard of his roads, thus, he doesnt want it retaining water after every rainfall. Flowers That Make Your Air Freshener Useless Wrong. The contractors refuse to dig deeper to achieve a lower drainage/gutter base (which ideally should be totally subterranean). It costs a bit more and they'd have factored that in at the quotation stage only to turn around to modify it at the execution stage. I don't blame them though. It's the people who are supposed to but don't inspect these public works that, in my opinion, are to blame. |

I hope it makes other people to take Nigerians seriously because, contrary to popular belief, a good number of us are hardworking, honest and law abiding. |

Education › Re: Gateway Polytechnic Students Protest Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (Photos) by Calbarian(m): 10:16pm On Jan 28, 2016 |
Beginning to seem like passing English isn't a requirement in schools these days. mlanreh: The student of Gateway poly have decided to go on a protest so their voices will be heard. A source who is a student of the school made it know to me that normally administration fee which was increased from ought to be paid in the 2nd semester, but the rector moved it to the 1st semester and once they are not able to make the payment there is no way they can pay tuition since the rector and his team created a new portal in which payments should be made. Then the SUG agitated that if the school want the Admin fee in the first semester then they should create a portal where they can pay their tuition twice paying at least 70% of the tuition fee in the first semester and the remaining 30% before the start of their 2nd semester, but the rector decided not to give room for such negotiation by saying in a congress which was organized by the SUG today that any student who can't pay 100% of both the Admin and the tuition by first tomorrow won't be allowed into the Campus on Monday which is the 1st of February. And also not forgetting the increment in JAMB regulazation fee from 7,000 to 15,000 all this i guessed pushed the entire student to the express road. It is well |

So this thread is still alive? Talk of staying power. I must commend all y'all. You know yourselves.
As for me, I enrolled at Alliance Française and concluded with the first stage yesterday.
For those who have the time, amongst other things, I feel we should consider learning a language (not necessarily a foreign one though) to add to our competencies. It also could be of help in personal situations. Personally, I hope to use french prociency in growing a venture of mine next year.
French, English and Mandarin chinese (in no particular order) are some important foreign languages. Our local dialects are also of importance so, we could venture into learning at least one besides our mother tongue.
At least, while we can, let's do what we can to improve ourselves. |
