Awesome!

The one that I know is that someone wants to brand our public schools as moribund and/or unviable with a view to selling the institutions to themselves and their cronies all in the name of “privatisation” of public institutions. Just like nitel, nepa and almost nnpc.

We are watching.

People are congregating to encourage akin Adesina and Madam N. O. Iweala on twitter and other platforms. I’ve posted one of them here on Nairaland with full details but the powers that be here have only been paid to push certain people to frontpage so anything about these people you’re mentioning concerning contesting against the people that own Nigeria will probably not see the light of day.

Las las, we’re our own problem.

Nice move.

I love what the government is doing.

When buying a train ticket, you must use your nin, this should also be extended to plane tickets, and other private and state government providers.

It will reduce fraud and make it easy to do background check on individuals.

My only fear, is data protection

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Was The Interviewee's Answer Wrong? (photo) by calberian: 1:14pm On Apr 14, 2022
Sometimes, there are errors in such documents and instead of wasting time in correcting them or even refusing to call the candidate up for an interview, it pays to give the candidate the benefit of the doubt via a chance to sort things out themselves. In this context, I’d say it’s a valid question.

Another thing is, maybe the job requires a certain level of comportment and humility and the interviewer decided to ask a question that should mildly rile the interviewer up just to see his/her reaction.

Politics / Nigerians In Diaspora Ask Afdb President, Adesina To Join 2023 Presidential Race by calberian: 5:56pm On Apr 13, 2022
A body known as Diaspora Support Group of North America and Europe has called on Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) to join the 2023 presidential race.

The group made the call in a statement signed by Tony Bello, Chairman of Shine Bridge Global Inc., Chesapeake-Virginia, USA made available to journalists in Abuja.

It said an Adesina Presidency will usher in a robust economic resurgence that could put an end to children drowning in the high seas of Africa and Europe in their quest for a better life.

The group also called on all well-meaning Nigerians to join in drafting Adesina into the 2023 presidential race with the confidence to emerge as Nigeria’s President in 2023.

According to the group, this is the time for the electorates to take on the civic responsibility of calling on more qualified Nigerians besides the usual career politicians to come and run for office.

It warned that should Nigerians fail to search for the best candidates now, the hope and faith for a better Nigeria will have to wait for another four years or even longer.

“We, the Diaspora Support Group of North America and Europe, hereby beckon to all well-meaning Nigerians and co-patriots, at home and abroad, to join us in drafting Dr. Akinwumi A. Adesina into the Nigerian 2023 presidential race.

“By the way he has endeared himself to the generality of Nigerians across the board, we would have preferred having him run as an independent candidate if such was possible.

“It is therefore necessary that he contests under any of the two major Nigerian political parties, the APC or the PDP.

“The announcement of his candidacy, no doubt, will be a revelatory message to the world that our democracy has come of age. Yes, the name Adesina featuring among the presidential candidates is something of excellent value to our democracy; it is a signal that we are about to leap into a stable par with mature democracies across the world,’’ the statement read in parts.

The group further said Adesina has successfully led the AfDB and by implication, Africa, to withstand the global economic shocks resulting from the Covid-19 Pandemic.

“Adesina’s global influence and visionary leadership transcend boundaries as he continues to uplift the poor and empower youths, women, and the smallholder farmers across Africa.

“Adesina has become a national and global influencer of our time whose global achievements, awards and recognitions have become a thing of national pride for all Nigerians.

“Judging from the calibers of those who have shown interest in the presidency of Nigeria after President Buhari, there is no one better placed than Adesina to mount the seat.

“He is an embodiment of leadership in all its ramifications; be it setting the vision, taking actions, gaining alignment, leading, influencing, inspiring, building, collaboration, partnership, humility to learn, charisma, investing in people and processes,’’ the group said.

It called on captains of industries and detribalised political leaders likes former Governor Peter Obi of Anambra and Governor Sani Bello of Niger to work across party lines for the nomination and election of Adesina.

The group further asked on Governors Godwin Obaseki of Edo; Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State to work for Adesina’s emergence.

Politics / Re: How Buhari Resolved APC Crisis In 2 Weeks While Insecurity Festers by calberian: 11:29am On Apr 10, 2022
The leadership of Nigeria as a whole seem like they’ve been hijacked and forced to act against their will. Everything that they have done upon assumption of office in 2015 has been the exact opposite of what was said prior. Everything.

Those months when there was no cabinet should have been the time when the right questions should have been asked about what is really going on and possibly, the right action taken.

I hope this post is just balderdash and utter rubbish from my idle mind but that’s the only reasonable explanation that my tired brain can come up with. I mean, nothing makes sense at all. Absolutely nothing.

Why would Nigeria be borrowing 1.something or 2.something billion dollars for infrastructure projects when Nigeria makes that amount in a couple of weeks? How does a budget deficit jump from N0.90Tn to N7.00Tn without any single significant item in the budget?

How do you even budget trillions upon trillions of naira over close to a decade and not be able to have good power supply? Exactly where are the funds being spent?

There needs to be a proper audit of outgoing governments when they leave before a new one assumes office.

Nigeria cannot continue like this.

As if that’s what they need. What is being done about the kidnapping and ritual killings that’s so commonplace in those parts.

I mean, these taxis and WiFi enabled buses are essentially just going to provide more avenues to kidnap people for ritual killing. These politicians are experts in ignoring the leprosy to focus on the rashes.

My own is this:

How do the recipients of these taxes account for them by means of telling us what is done with these resources?

It’s one thing to generate big money. It’s a different thing to translate it to sustainable development.

Garri don overswell now. At least, e go last reach December. @Hungerbad I swear

1. Is there any confirmento incontrovertablia to support this screenshot of a portion of a printout?

Answer: Yes

2. Assuming this sensational headline is true, specifically who carried out the massacre?

Answer is down in the conclusion portion of the report.

3. On who’s order(s) was this order executed

4. Did this order require any other approval from any other ranking uniformed or civilian of officer of government?

5. If yes to (4), was this approval sought? and

6. Was this approval from (4) received?

7. Amongst the most individuals listed from nos. (2 - 6) is there any immunity clause applicable to any of them?

8. If found guilty of any discrepancies, to what length is the state ready to prosecute this case?

Please, lets endeavour to read from page 281 to 309 of the report. It might cause serious distress as I personally shed tears uncontrollably. It will be hard but lets just read as it’s a duty we owe the murdered.

In our next class, we shall be addressing the following:

“Why is there no mention of who it was that ordered the DPO of Maroko Police Station and the 2 Abi na 3 sef, Army officers that led officers to massacre unarmed Nigerians at Lekki Toll Gate?”

I will ask this in our next class because, the army and the police will not leave whatever it was that they were doing prior to goan start shooting at unarmed folks when thieves were (and had been at it for some days on end at the time) looting my shop embarassed cry embarassed at Adeniran Ogunsanya Shopping mall, Surulere amongst others across the state. I’ll try to not ask who it was that came up with the idea of blaming the massacred folk for committing this looting. Maybe it’s pure conjecture or propaganda.

One final thing, let us not forget to appreciate the government (both state and federal) and the panel members and all other stakeholders for the sacrifices they must have made to make this most daring but absolutely important process a success.

Please read up or else!
