Government properties now worth N35m were sold to citizens in Lagos for N2500 apiece. But that was in 1982, six years and 2 presidents later! So if in 1982, N7000 had an equivalent value of almost N100m today, it would have been worth so much more in 1976. itsme01: 2 Likes |

Great pictures Nana! However, West African youths can’t travel or transact within the region without going through unnecessary stress and extortion at their countries’ borders. West African youths are mostly being governed by dinosaurs bereft of the most basic ideas of diplomacy, patriotism and economic development. West African youths still depend on foreign countries for basic items like clothes, shoes, hair attachments, phones, TVs, fridges, ACs and other electronics e.t.c. Even the choicest processed foods in high end stores in west africa are foreign. All these are against a backdrop of immense human and natural resources and some of the best climatic conditions in the world. Instead of the endless debates about who’s got a bigger, longer lasting phallus, I opine that the discussion should move to who’s innovating better and who’s reaching the widest audience with positives and who’s solving the greatest problems. After all, that’s the foundational raison d’être of the earliest institutions of higher education. 4 Likes |
