Nzeogwu was a High ranking Nigerian Army Officer from Niger/Delta, in the south/south region.

The Hausa are not just killing igbos in the north mind you. Yoruba's and all ethnic groups, even Hausa's are being killed. The Igbo's at anythime could massarce the Hausa's in our region but we are not cannibal's and have no use for human flesh. This conversation with you is over because u are unintelligent. Please clarify the Army and igbo soldiers difference. Who is the Army and distinguish from igbo soldiers?

Based on this statement of yours do u now understand the conflicting nature of the Nigerian Entity and why Ojukwu might have thought it necessary for succession. Tribal sentiment was the reason the imperialist coined Nigeria to fit in with their divide and rule strategy.

Even the army is divided, no wonder they have been unable to win any war in all its history.

The Army should never have shifted from protecting such high profile personality to actually murdering them. The Army had no business in politics to say the least.

But we have to look at this history in line with the world emerging from the second world war and well into the cold-war. Military coup was everywhere and Nigeria was no exception. The killing of innocent civilian was also not necessary as a counter coup in the like of Gowon would have been sufficient.

To try and justify the religious and political and not to talk of tribal killings in the North today with a transition in our early history in line with global history is simply out of the question.

Yes!! Simply because of the social, political, cultural and religious difference between the region. The Irish in the United Kingdom are not advocating an Independent Republic of Ireland, because of the abundant patatoes they have in Ireland.(since they don't have much oil)

The Scottish are not advocating an independent Scotland because of the Mountains in their region but purely on social, cultural and political grounds. Even the United Nation recognizes the right of distinct ethnic groups to self determination with out persecution or crimes against humanity perpetuated against them. The North cannot go on forever murdering innocent children, r aping and murdering women, murdering men without some sort of response. They are not God and have no right to claim life they can't give. cannibals,  angry angry angry

Taye Taiwo (right) and Peter Utaka (centre) challenge Argentina"s Franco Jara Argentina fielded a below-strength in Abuja

Fifa says it is investigating unusual betting patterns relating to Nigeria's 4-1 win over Argentina in Abuja on Wednesday.

When the score was 4-0 in the friendly game, a large number of bets were placed on there being a fifth goal.

Only five minutes of injury time were shown, but eight had elapsed when Mauro Boselli scored a contentious penalty given against Joseph Yobo for handball.

Fifa said in a statement: "This match was one we had an active interest in."

And the Nigerian Football Federation, which organised the match, said it would help Fifa's investigation and also set up its own inquiry.

"We will put all these measures [the inquiry] in place in the spirit of fair play and transparency," NFF General Secretary Musa Amadu said in a statement. "But we would still insist that, until it is proven beyond doubt, we believe that we won this match fair and square.

"There remains, to the best of our knowledge, no untoward motives to this game than to play it fairly and win it fairly."

Argentina's involvement in the Copa America tournament meant they sent a largely sub-strength side, captained by Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta.

Ike Uche opened the scoring after 10 minutes, with Victor Obinna adding a second from the penalty spot before Uche headed a third before half-time.

Eight minutes after the restart Emmanuel Emenike lobbed a fourth goal, and the fifth goal of the match, refereed by Ibrahim Chaibou of Niger, came with the final kick of the game.

The match took place the same day Fifa president Sepp Blatter was re-elected for a fourth term in office, pledging to improve the image of the game around the world.

The answer to your question is simple. Odili in 2007 could not contest for President because the Northerners were threatening violence and coup if the Presidency does not go North.

Hence, Yaradua was the compromise but OBJ had an issue with Odili with regards to certain statement made during an interview on BBC were he accused previous administration for the present state of stagnation Nigeria embodied. Hence, OBJ favoured GEJ for the Vice President position.

The issue of Utomi was simply because when pitched against candidates like Buhari and Ribadu, he simple did not stand a chance but GEJ had a broader appeal and was the consensus candidate. I hope that answered your question.

wink

step1:
This is a discussion not an argument or a fight so why all the insult. South-westerners do leave their region, live and work in other regions in fact I don't think you know what you are saying because all you just did is use your emotion of hate from south-western to post. By the way, why do you think the SW has "superiority complex" or " they think they are smarter". Please my friend/brother I would appreciate if you do not reply me with hints of tribalism or hate again, it is uncivilized people which I believe we are all are not.

No one is under any impression. SE voted for Jonathan because his name is Azikiwe and not because he is a leader. What I am telling you is that south-west would support a South-east president so long as SE people pick him and he is a leader. We do not think we are superior or have any superior mentality over any group (i mean what made you say that). Politics in the South-east is perfect and I am not disputing that with you neither am I in the position to tell any politician what to do be it SE or SW. Now I propose this question to you since you.

1 Why did SE politician in PDP vote out Odili in 2007

2 Why did Ohaneze say Utomi should step down but gave their mandate to Azikiwe Jonathan. I mean he is a SS man from delta state.

( Please answer this question if you fell you want to and reply like an educated adult without insults)

Why I Chose Anyim - President Jonathan

News & Commentary - Economy

Written by Agency reporter Tuesday, 31 May 2011 23:57

anyimPresident Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday explained that he chose former Senate President, Chief Anyim Pius Anyim, as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation based on his track record.

Jonathan had on Monday named Anyim as the successor to Alhaji Yayale Ahmed.

Jonathan, who spoke at the inauguration of Anyim at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja, said the former Senate president had a distinguished career at the National Assembly and was selected after a careful process.

The event was witnessed by a large number of politicians from various parts of the country.

Also at the ceremony, the reappointed National Security Adviser, Gen. Owoeye Azazi (rtd.), was also sworn in.

Also Monday, Jonathan formally dissolved his cabinet, saying their letters showed that their appointments ended on May 29, 2011, even though he had asked them to continue till the next cabinet is formed.

In the statement also signed by Aduwak, he said the president thanked them for their cooperation and asked them to be available when called for service to the country at any time.

The statement read: "In accordance with the appointment letters of members of the Federal Executive Council, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, and other political appointees, their appointments ended on May 29th, 2011. This brings to a close the former administration, and marks the beginning of the new one.

"The President thanked all the outgoing ministers, advisers and assistants and other political appointees for their service to the nation. He particularly lauded their patriotism and dedication, and wished them God's blessings in their future endeavours.

"The President called on them to always see themselves as partners in progress with the new administration, stating that the Federal Government would from time to time draw from their repository of knowledge in steering the ship of state."

The dissolution of the cabinet has effectively resolved constitutional issues raised by some lawyers over the validity of their continued stay in office beyond the life of the last administration which terminated on Sunday.

Good idea with the border fence I am starting to share your vision, but Anioma, Ika and Ukwuani are all igbo's so the fence should go on the other side of the Oduduwa land. Then the ijaws will have to join with Bayalsa their home state in the south east. The Urhobo will have to hold a referendum to decide which side of the fence is favourable to them.

Then we all get wat we want and everybody is happy. grin grin grin

Desola:
Emeka,

I have said it before and I will re-iterate that the SW would never vote for a SE prsident. Forget the tribal enmity on this site for a second and think objectively.

How have the SE proved to Nigeria as a whole that they are capable of running a government effectively. Don't bring Nollywood(they are totally tribal) or spare parts and that "we are the economic powerhouse of Africa" bile into this now. We are talking politics and good governance here now. Who is capable of picking up the mantle and please do not bring Amaechi into this as we all know that he is a SouthSoutherner whose quota is currently in use. Who would you front and why? Why do you think the SW should vote for him/her without throwing the "we are southerners" hogwash or "let's stand against the North" nonsense.

Tell me why we should vote the SE and not NC.

It is nice to see how non-tribal and fair minded the igbo's really are. Like i said before, the yoruba's are the bigest problem in the Nigerian Union because of their envy of the igbo's.

If a yoruba can reason like my brother 'Justcash', then we will not have any problem and Nigeria will move so smoothly, but the problem is the yoruba's are envious of other people's God given talent or blessings. They want to claim everything and never truly appreciating the gift of God they themselves are custodian to.

Osun Monarch ra ped Youth Corper. Oba Bukola Alli
« on: April 06, 2011, 01:56 AM »
A member of the National Youth Service Corps (name withheld), on Tuesday accused the Alowa of Ilowa, Oba Bukola Alli, of despoiling her in Osogbo, Osun State capital, on Friday, March 25, 2011.
She alleged that the monarch violated her without using a condom.
The corps member, who was at a press conference with the state Director of NYSC, Mr. Etim Enyenihi, at the NYSC secretariat, Osogbo, refused to talk to journalists but narrated her experience in a statement written in long hand.
The lady said she got acquainted with the monarch, who is in his 50s, during the last voters’ registration exercise in Ilowa, a community near Ilesa.
She said, “I was coming back from my place of primary assignment, which is a school, when the monarch pulled up by my side. He was in company with a boy, who I mistook for his son. He told me to join them.
“We got to Ilowa, where he told me that he wanted me to be the computer facilitator of a computer programme he was planning for the community – that was after telling him I am computer literate.
“We drew a plan on the format of the form and registration of pupils. The programme was subsequently announced in Ilowa schools and throughout the community.
“On Friday, March 25, 2011, I came to the computer centre and found some pupils and some community members seated. I introduced the programme to them and gave them forms, which I later collected from them. After all was done, I dismissed the pupils and told the oba that I wanted to leave.”
The corps member said the Alowa “proffered to drop me off but on getting to the place of my primary assignment, he sped past, telling me that we have to go to Osogbo together so that I could enter names of the pupils into the computer in Osogbo, adding that we also had some other issues to discuss.”
According to the 23-year-old lady, “Before we got to Osogbo, he said there was something he wanted to show me at Osun Grove. We toured the place together and left for his Osogbo residence.”
She said the monarch’s housemaid served her orange juice and food, which she initially turned down because it was getting late but later accepted when the Alowa promised to drop her off at her place of primary assignment in Ilowa.
She added, “He had a visitor, who later left, and I told him I wanted to leave too. He said he would not allow me risk travelling late and that I should pass the night at his residence. He went inside and pulled off his shirt, came back to the room, and started caressing me. I got up and excused myself.
“He said he must have his way with me or I should kill him, stressing that I made a fool of him for a long time by turning down all his offers. Prior to this, he had offered to take me out for shopping and also to take me on a trip to Ghana, which I declined.”
She said the monarch followed her everywhere inside his residence, eventually leading her into a room and “immediately pulled his trousers and started forcing at my underpants and clothes. When I was unclothed, I pleaded with him but he threatened to soak my clothes in water.”
The lady said that at a point the monarch left her in the room having been frustrated by her resistance, giving her the opportunity to lock herself inside the room.
“He later came back banging at the door, trying to force it open. I saw my phone on his bed and I sent a text to my pastor and our Corps Liaison Officer, asking them to call the police,” she said.
The lady said the monarch asked her to pass the key to him through a little opening on top of the door, threatening that “if he should break open the door, the worst is going to happen to me. He said he was going to show me his mad side.
“When he got in, he said I was mad and that I should go to the room, where he had stripped me unclothed. I pleaded that I was unclothed but he said I should go there, promising that he will not touch me. When I went there, I was kneeling down, crying and pleading with him but he laid on me forcefully. When I screamed, he said nobody will hear me. When he was done, he went into his room, had his bath and dressed up. I told him to go and drop me.
“He dropped me off and on getting home, I called the Corps Liaison Officer and the local government Inspector, who took me to the police station in Obokun, where I narrated the incident.”
Enyenihi , who later fielded questions from the journalists, said the Director General of the NYSC, Brig.- Gen. Ismaila Tsiga, has urged the police to investigate and prosecute the monarch.
The monarch declined to comment when contacted by our correspondent.
The Head, Criminal Investigation Bureau, in the command, Mr. Gbola Adeyemi, said investigations into the case had commenced.
Adeyemi, who spoke in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Tuesday, said, “The case is already in court. We have arraigned him at the magistrate’s court already,” adding that the monarch was arrested and detained before he was arraigned in court.

SouthWest cannot be President again in 2015 not after OBJ 8years in office. The Presidency will have to go SouthEast or President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan get a second term to ascertain his objective for wanting to be president in the first place. Fashola will have to wait.

Justcash:
I pray for Fashola to be the next president of Nigeria in 2015. This is borne out of my desire to see someone that is less of a politician and more of a leader becoming the president of Nigeria. He has shown time without number that he has what it takes to steer a complex country like Nigeria towards a path of development and prosperity. I feel he is the best among the few Nigerian governors that has the mental and physical ability of solving some basic infrastructural problems in Nigeria.

Having said that, I also know very well that he will not have a chance of touching that post under ACN. I am very sure that for him to be able to lead Nigeria, he needs to get into PDP. If GEJ can do it in PDP, Fashola can do it too. Moreover, if he is able to get to the presidential post under PDP, he will be a lord of himself, and not the puppet of a godfather like Tinubu, just like GEJ has suddenly turned into a lord overnight, to the extent of damning OBJ's demands and influence.

I pray that something should happen against Fashola in ACN and make him to move to PDP, so that he will have a realistic shot at the presidency.

If he fails to move to PDP for a realistic chance, I pray that Sullivan Chime or Rotimi Amaechi should get the chance to win that position in 2015.

All this appointment is taking too long to finalise and in the main-time Nigeria is in decadency. Oga go-slow we are getting restless and losing patience.
