I really have to commend your research works into the wealth of Ndiigbo. It is very clear that the igbo's are Gods own people. The blessing are just too much and that is why in Nigeria today they are envied by fellow Nigerians.

Ndiigbo jus have to realise their calling and work tirelessly in unity to accomplish and establish their leadership of the African continent to advance it into contemporary international standard.

The igbos are definately, richly endowed in all ramifications and their is absolutely nothing any groups can do about it.

ACN has no future in the south south or south-eastern zone of Nigeria. The party stinks of ethnocentric vulgar and judging by its recent electoral performance it is a yoruba tribal party. We don't want it anywhere in our backyard.

This thread will not be closed until Nairaland pays homage to Great Emeka Emeagwali. It is ironic that the tread that focuses on Ethnocentric claims made the front page but that which celebrates ingenuity of a fellow Nigerian must die. Is it any surprise why the country Nigeria never progress.

How can they progress wen igbo hating yorubas go out of their way to discredit a man of his work on ethnocentric grounds. Anti-igbo mindset by the yorubas must stop. Anti-cultural diversity is an ungodly act and a sin, hence must stop.

Emeagwali received a $1,000[2] 1989 Gordon Bell Prize, based on an application of the CM-2 massively-parallel computer for oil-reservoir modeling. He won in the "price/performance" category, with a performance figure of 400 Mflops/$1M, corresponding to an absolute performance of 3.1 Gflops. The other recipient of the award, who won in the "peak performance" category for a similar application of the CM-2 to oil-related seismic data processing, actually had a price-performance figure of 500 Mflops/$1M and an absolute performance of 6.0 Gflops, but the judges decided not to award both prizes to the same team.[3][4] Emeagwali's simulation was the first program to apply a pseudo-time approach to reservoir modeling.[5]

[8] Nevertheless, Emeagwali was voted the "35th-greatest African (and greatest African scientist) of all time" in a survey by New African magazine.[9] His achievements were quoted in a speech by Bill Clinton as an example of what Nigerians could achieve when given the opportunity.[10] He is also a frequent feature of Black History Month articles in the popular press.[11][

All this talk of industrialisation in the southeast, jonathan should be careful not to destroy the natural habitant. Industries and industrial estates should be set up in Aba were provisions have been made, whilst onitsha needs a make over for businesses and commerce, with more bridges leading to and from delta(asaba)

A news editorial published on October 18, 2010 by Sahara Reporters, a news agency, refuted all claims by Philip Emeagwali to his claimed success. The newspaper gave evidential and incisive details as to why he could never have achieved all self-described feats, including being the 'Father of the Internet'[14]

Based on some of the comments that i have read in this tread, i have come to understand that many Nigerians are still naive. In what way can America having a military base in Nigeria aid the development of our country. If anything America should help us build our military to full capacity that we can support them in their fight against terrorism.

Ivory Coast is a good example of what can happen when you have a foreign Army permanently based in your country. They were instrumental to the toppling of the Ivorian Government by force, so many died but they don't care because they are not French Citizens.
