Its amazing that Don Jazzy reacted like this when he didnt do jack during Mohits split which earned him so much respect. Going by his mohits split response, Im wondering what IF he didnt actually send those tweets? What if someone else in the mavin clique who knew about the song used and abused his twitter account and its even more embarrassing to reveal that. Just pondering. Cuz I cant understand how Don Jazzy can stoop and goof so low |
Good evening. Please do me a huge favour and stop sending me spam text messages to subscribe to a lot of nonsense that I dont need. I find it very annoying. I have been having issue with my phone for months now which I have complained twice at The Palms office yet no solution. I will have airtime and still cant make call or send text occasionally. You cant predict when it will happen and it has cost me tremendously! ''All I hear is my account is too low for this call.....'' My number is 0803xxxxx. By month end if this problem is not resolved Im porting to etisalat. I dont want any of the spam subscription messages, I will NEVER subscribe. I will check if its within my rights to sue you for that nuisance if you dont stop. I have the same problem by the way. Its always easy to take people's money and then you don't deliver. MTN has so much customers and making so much money why cant they be less greedy and put in more telecom structures that ease the life of customers. http://www.rhipplemedia.com/2013/05/an-angry-dissatisfied-mtn-customers.html |
I can’t imagine my mother forcing our last born to bear a child for when she was 14 years old. There a lot of sane looking insane people around. In a ruling reported for the first time Monday, High Court judge Peter Jackson said the mother had behaved in "a wicked and selfish way" that almost defied belief. A woman desperate for another child forced her 14-year-old daughter to get pregnant using syringes of donor sperm, a British judge said. The judge said the woman, an American divorcee living in Britain with three adopted children, hatched the plan after she was prevented from adopting a fourth. The scheme involved getting her oldest daughter to inseminate herself with syringes of sperm purchased over the Internet from a Denmark-based company, Cryos International. Jackson said the daughter, identified only as A, "became pregnant at the mother's request, using donor sperm bought by the mother, with the purpose of providing a fourth child for the mother to bring up as her own." In his ruling, the judge quoted the teenager as saying said she was shocked by the suggestion, but thought, "If I do this ... maybe she will love me more." "My mum is a very determined person and she does her best not to let anything get in her way if she wants it," the teenager added. The judge said the mother also made the teenager take extreme measures to increase her chances of having a girl. The judge said it was likely but not certain that the daughter soon became pregnant and suffered a miscarriage. After six more attempts with the donor sperm, she gave birth to a baby boy in July 2011, when she was 17. But midwives at the hospital became alarmed by the odd behavior of A's mother. Her daughter wanted to breastfeed the baby, but her mother said: "We don't want any of that attachment thing." The hospital alerted the authorities, and the children were taken into foster care. The mother is now serving a five-year jail term for child cruelty. Details of the case were heard during proceedings at the family division of the High Court over the children's future last year. They were reported for the first time Monday after several British media organizations, including the publisher of The Guardian newspaper, challenged reporting restrictions. http://www.rhipplemedia.com/2013/04/unbelievable-mother-forced-her-14-year.html |
I care more about the marriage not the proposal. I rather have a 4uckd up proposal and live a happily married life than have a grandiose proposal and a shitty married life or even divorce. By the way America has a very high if not the highest rate of DIVORCE! So much for romantic proposal. Chances are the man will divorce her in a few years, smh http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/peo_div_rat-people-divorce-rate |
A conflicting report on who killed Boston Marathon bomber “Suspect 1” has emerged. Watertown police chief Edward Deveau said Dzhokhar Tsarnaev ran over his brother and dragged him down the street as he tried to escape from the police on Thursday night. The alleged incident painted a picture of a ruthless terrorist who would kill his own brother to escape. But a witness to the incident went on a talk radio station and said the police ran over Tsarnaev with an SUV and then pumped bullets into him. Here's the video link If the police are lying about the death of Tamerlan, what else are they lying about? Why would they even lie about it? Can we believe anything the police and the government tell the media about events surrounding the bombing last week? http://www.rhipplemedia.com/2013/04/witness-tamerlan-tsarnaev-run-over-by.html |
India is fast notoriously becoming the rape capital of the world as very horrible rape cases are recorded there. I dont understand it. Why are people this horrible. A five year old girl is fighting for her life after she was raped by a neighbour in Gandhi Nagar, east Delhi, who held her captive for four days. The girl was kidnapped while playing outside her home and locked in her neighbour’s flat for days before someone heard her cries for help. Doctors reported finding ‘foreign objects’ inside the girl’s genitals as the details of her horrific ordeal began to unfold. The five-year-old went missing from her home on Monday and was found on Thursday night by rescuers, alerted by her screams, in the home of a man who lives in the same building as the girl’s family. The neighbour is believed to have repeatedly raped the child, mutilated her genitals and tried to strangle her. The power of the music you listen to over one's action cant be overemphasized. Still the naivety of some people marvels me. Musicians should be mindful of what they sing or their lyrics because there some people gullible enough to practice it. Truman Edley, who was just 15 at the time of his death, hanged himself in the hallway of the family home in Rotherham after he had been listening to the violent music. A coroner refused to name the band he was listening to or publish the extreme lyrics which formed part of the evidence at the inquest in Rotherham. The official also noted that Truman had been suffering from a number of problems, and his mother said that he had 'self-esteem' issues. The teenager, who was named after American indie band Trumans Waters, frequently listened to death metal through headphones. She discovered his body at their home in November 2011, two months after she had found him sobbing in his bedroom wardrobe. On another occasion, she found scratches on his arm - he said that he had done it while messing around in the woods, but two friends asked him to visit a youth support service, fearing he had been self-harming. Mrs Edley described her son as 'loving' and said he was fiercely protective of his loved ones. 'He was one of the most kind, loving and caring people,' she said. 'We told each other that we loved each other every day. 'He became a stereotypical teenager, like the Harry Enfield character Kevin. He was more interested in spending time with friends and took increasing pride in his appearance.' For more check http://www.rhipplemedia.com/2013/04/teenager-hanged-self-after-listening-to.html |

Why was it so easy for Governor Fashola of Lagos State to eradicate commercial motorcycle a.k.a. okada which has its positives and negatives but difficult to eradicate the menace called area boys/agbero/alaye i.e. touts and thugs which has only negatives that infest Lagos environs especially the bus stops? Okada is a NECESSARY EVIL. Agberos are UNNECESSARY EVIL. Okada occupation is populated by people from all over the country and even the continent. Agbero profession is predominantly dominated by Lagosians. Most okada riders are graduates who as a pis aller picked up the trade when they couldnt find jobs, thanks to our job creating government. Agberos are all STACK illiterates. Okada is fraught with road accident risks leaving the victim, injured, maimed, or dead. Agbero is fraught violence endangering the lives of innocent passers by and the useless life of the agberos too. Okada is a value exchange business, you pay for their service. Agberos are extortionist extorting money from people. Okada fill the transportation need while agbero is just a societal ill that no one needs. On the average okada riders use their income to better their lives and that of their family. Agberos on the average spend their loot on alcohol, drugs and prostitutes. Rumour has it that the top hierarchical ladder of Lagos government/polity/royal father fatten up courtesy of the proceeds from the extortion business of agberos. Its safe to say anybody who feeds from agbero loot is equally an agbero regardless of the person's office, intellect or social status. Lagos Agbero profession seems to be a cultural heritage just like omonile. Its a despicable culture. For more visit http://www.rhipplemedia.com/2013/01/why-did-fashola-eradicate-okada-and.html |
Recently, I asked a group of ordinary American women to describe their significant others' most annoying characteristics. The responses were startling, not for their content but for the loathing I observed in these usually pleasant, well-adjusted people. If you want to see the red gleam of murder in someone's eyes, if you want chilling insight into the thinness and fragility of the civilized veneer that glosses over humanity's primal drives, don't read Greek tragedy or visit death row. Just listen to a few nice, normal folks talk about the way their spouses fake a Cockney accent, reuse unwashed underwear, or repeat every joke three times. As we pledge our undying devotion to our partners, it might be wise to acknowledge the flashes of vile, indefensible hatred we occasionally feel toward them. Acknowledging them while they're still small can help us deal with them responsibly. Denying their existence allows them to grow until they overwhelm our social niceties, turning us into various manifestations of the Incredible Hulk. Do you want to reach that point? If not, read on and follow these steps... Find the Meaning in Maddening Moments Tom and Jerri were furious at each other. On their way to my office, they'd stopped for a cup of coffee. Tom had also purchased a newspaper and flipped to the sports page, holding out the front section and asking Jerri, "Do you want to look at this?" At that point, Jerri burst into tears, all communication ceased, and the couple was officially at war. Clearly, this had nothing to do with the newspaper. However, the coffee shop incident was an excellent "access point" for figuring out the core issues that were causing conflict. The key to this process is simply asking each person to describe, in detail, the meaning he or she gives to an event. "He never gives me his full attention," Jerri said. "He finds anything to distract him—traffic, the sports page, whatever. And then he gives me the rest of the paper, like he thinks I'm behind on current events." Tom's jaw dropped. The motives Jerri had ascribed to his actions had nothing to do with his real intentions. "All I wanted to do was check the baseball scores—my dad and I used to do that. I gave Jerri the rest of the paper because my mom always read it." Likewise, when Jerri began to cry, Tom knew that, as he put it, "she was accusing me of being a bad husband, trying to control me." This could not have been further from Jerri's intent. "I needed his attention for five minutes over breakfast. If I get that, I feel close to him all day." What to Do Like Tom and Jerri, you'll often find that the behavior you don't like is triggering insecurities, fears, or unfinished grief. The next time you feel hatred flaring up, wait until you're no longer frothing mad, then calmly check whether the meaning you attach to events is the same as your partner's intention, listen to the response, and then suggest alternatives that might meet both your needs. This technique can turn a maddening moment into an opportunity for deeper mutual understanding and a significantly happier relationship. Yimiton got married to the man of her dreams on the first Saturday of 2013. For those of you who didn't know, her name is Tonia and she married Tony who is a man after God's heart. It was a beautiful event, the Priest said a wonderful sermon, the choristers played beautifully, the church was lively and the day felt generally beautiful and ordained by God Himself. Thank you for your honesty. I should then posit that the reason you ignored my question was because you too realize that your initial post wasn't meant to promote positive cultural interest or to add any value for that matter. Its not meant to promote positive cultural interest or to add any value for that matter and you have desire to know more. for negative cultural interest? You will need to educate me: what/which African attire is an export commodity and provides economic empowerment to the people as you stated? To whom do we export our textiles to and how large is our manufacturing sector for African produced goods which reflect our cultural identity? Or is your statement referring to a general, global viewpoint? It was in global context. Im sure what you wear to work is other culture's export commodity and not your native attire Would it be wrong to say that their thoughts and actions forged with culture is manifesting via their mode of dressing? It is not wrong to say that their society influences their thoughts and inherently their actions; as do all societies to a measured extent (there is after all free-will).. But from the picture you cannot judge their character based on their appearance, half-clad or not. You would have to interact with them to have a better understanding of their value system and behavior. Which is why I said thoughts and actions take precedence (i.e. trump) appearance. I dint put the picture for you to judge their character, are you psychic? So it will be very unwise for you to do so. I put it their to showcase their mode of dressing, simple. If you cant appreciate or see any value in the culture/post, at least appreciate or value the photographer and his work. I don't know whether your original post was intended to evoke a visceral reaction from other commenters. Your first four statements were: Funny? Weird? Unbelievable? In this 21st century people still flaunt this kinda fashion. It simply shows my surprise cuz I never thought it still existed in Nigeria. If a couple things or events dont shock or surprise you, well we are different. The intrinsic value of the post was missing: What does cultural identity mean to individuals? How important is the preservation of our identity or others? Are there cultural norms we are willing to let go of? Why or why not? How does who we are or who we were affect where we are heading (as a nation, as a continent, as a world)? Who told you the intrinsic value of the post was missing? Just because you expect a chickenpie and you saw regular meatpie doesnt meant the meatpie is incomplete. Do you see how the questions I asked differ from the question you opened the post with? That is what social and cultural discourse (or any discourse for that matter) is about. Asking purposeful, evocative questions to prompt people to think deeply. That your questions are different from mine dont mean mine are useless. Different strokes for different folks. It is purposeful in its comic relief approach. Another thing that troubled me was when you said this: You failed to see any purpose in the knowledge of their existence, what purpose will knowing more about them be to you that is asking me the purpose of this post? . I never stated nor think that there is no purpose to their existence. I questioned the relevancy of your post. The purpose of the post was simply to bring their existence to your knowledge which obviously never crossed your mind or you refused to see. You asked me in your previous post whether my way of living has a beneficial impact on Nigerian society. I responded with what I do as my day job which I think made you more upset. Did i misunderstand your question? Yes you completely misunderstood the question. By ways of living, I mean culture. The focus here is the culture as manifested via their mode of dressing not there means of livelihood, not values, traits, not mental prowess, impact, etc. You think they dont have people who have your values or even better value than yours? You think they dont have any impact? Does how I dress say anything about my impact on society? No. Does looking at a picture of two indigenous women reveal anything about their societal impact? No. How about that girl in the cargo pants and t-shirt? Hmmm...still No. Had you provided more information on this tribe and explained their customs/traditions, behavior, belief systems, etc would we have a better understanding of their impact? Yes. Did your original post do that? No. I more interested in their attire which came as a surprise, you can investigate about their impact. Im sure you dint acquire chemical engineering degree from one lecture, lecturer nor one textbook. You will always be entitled to your opinion. But freedom of speech means you must also be open to the freedom of others to criticize your opinions/ideas If Im not open to your criticism of my idea (oh well their fashion is not my idea lol), you think I will burning my bandwith replying you? Its an educative exercise, you may not like my style of reply. But thats my style. I hope you are not upset by this post. I am not trying to shame you. I just want to see constructive topics and discussions. Upset or shame me? LMAO!!! Please perish that thought, it has no place in reality. One can only succeed in disgusting me by ACTING ALL SAINTLY. |
I am also flattered that you directly requoted my own question to me without providing a response to the same question. I purposely IGNORED your question cuz it was an unnecessary rhetoric which you already know the answer to. My attire does not affect the direction of Nigeria or Africa's future. Between, some attires are export commodities, economic empowerment. It is my thoughts and actions which trump how I look; as should be the case for you or anyone else. Would it be wrong to say that their thoughts and actions forged with culture is manifesting via their mode of dressing? A thief can come to you in a suit or rags and he is still a thief irrespective of what he/she wears. Likewise if we were to speak of saints. Would they be less saintly if they were half-clad? Im not talking a behavioural trait in a few individuals, this is the life, the culture of the entire community. They do have thieves dont you think? I work as a chemical engineering. How I look at my job was never a primary concern of my employers; what I do at work and how I do it is important to them. Im talking about people's way of life and you are giving me employer-employer relationship lecture. You comparing a portion of your life to this people's entire life? Its a culture they are born into and may likely die in, you will resign, get fired or retire from your job. You get paid to do what you do for your employer. This people are not paid to live their life. What you do and how you do it is important to your employer because he pays you and wants to get the value or more out of you. Of course you know the fiery consequence if you dont perform. If you are a freebie to them, they wont give a damn. Personally I believe NL should be used for more civil and social discourse related to the future of the continent. This is why I asked you how your post contributes to serious discussions. If you dont know where you are coming from, you wont know where you are going. So culture, history, photography, etc are not serious discussions? Is a chemical engineer telling me that archeologists are not serious people? P.S. When you say you are "just reporting on a culture," make sure that you dont inject your own obsevational bias: In this 21st century people still flaunt this kinda fashion. I feel like Im watching a still shot from "The Gods Must Be Crazy" Bad market for louis vuitton and co lol. Is it a crime to air my view? Im entitled to my opinion like you, you know. What is wrong then if Louis Vuitton is irrelevant to them? Then louis vuitton will look for market elsewhere, like your chemical engineering company. Im sure you dont dress like that when the chemicals and engineers collide. Perhaps you can post more facts about them in the future. I am interested to hear more about them. You are interested to know more about them? Seriously? Are you kidding me? You failed to see any purpose in the knowledge of their existence, what purpose will knowing more about them be to you that is asking me the purpose of this post? |

A member of the 10-man kidnap gang who earlier this month abducted the 82-year-old Prof, Kamene Okonjo, mother of the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, yesterday, confessed his involvement in the abduction and narrated how he fed the retired professor of sociology with groundnut, water and bread in the kidnappers' den. The suspected kidnapper, Andrew Dime, aka Olokpa, 32, who hails from Enikorogha in Edo State, however, told Vanguard that he was only hired by the second-in-command of the gang to supply food to Prof. Okonjo on two occasions at a fee of N100,000. Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ikechukwu Aduba, on the other hand, told Vanguard that Prof. Okonjo was kept in the custody of the suspect, who was in-charge of her feeding. The second-in-command of the gang allegedly swindled him when he bolted with his N1 million share of the ransom collected for the release of Prof. Okonjo. Apparently, to settle scores, the police said the suspect formed a new kidnap gang, which abducted an octogenarian at Aboh in Ndokwa area of the state. But having obtained a database on the group after its leader, Nwaeze Nwosa, aka Bolaji was shot dead in Asaba, the police were able to track down the suspect. Aduba told Vanguard that the police set a trap for him when it got information that he was in dire need of money for the yuletide by convincing him to sell one of the guns used for the abduction of Prof. Okonjo, which was in his custody. He fell for the trap and negotiated a price of N300,000 for a pump-action gun with a police officer, who posed as a buyer. He was, thereafter, arrested at Koka junction, Asaba, when he came to collect the cash. Dark-complexioned Andrew, who spoke to Vanguard in an interview, debunked the claim that he formed a new kidnap gang and that he was the one that negotiated the sale of pump-action gun, which was used to ensnare him. A police source said he was being economical with the truth, adding: "Most of these people (referring to criminals) will never tell you the truth when you arrest them until you get other members of the gang to confront them." Below are the excerpts of the interview with the suspect What is your name? Andrew Idime. How old are you? 32. Where are you from? I am from Enikorogha, Ovia South-West Local Government Area of Edo State. Where do you live? I live at Army Barracks, Onitsha. Do you know why you are here in police cell? For now, I know why I am arrested. Some friends of mine, they indulged themselves in kidnapping act. One of them is Chiboy and another is Biggy. The person I know very well is Chiboy. It was through this Chiboy that I met Biggy. I was trading on used shoes and my business was not moving well. So Chiboy called me that there is something that I was going to do. I asked him what it was, he said there was somebody I was going to drop food for and that I was going to drop food twice and that they would settle me. Therefore, I went there truly, he brought an Okada man (motorcyclist), the Okada man took me there, and I dropped the food twice. http://www.rhipplemedia.com/2012/12/kidnap-suspect-reveals-how-he-fed-ngozi.html |

@iwe oru i dint misunderstand your question. I just reported a culture and you are asking me how it affects nigeria's gdp. i ask you again how does your own attire or lack there-of draw attention to issues such as sanitation, security, education, healthcare, economic development, trade, electricity, population growth, civil wars, etc? What is the purpose of your reply? Is your way of living having a beneficial impact on Nigerian society as a whole? |
@iwe oru do you come from a community with a culture? does it impact on the course of nigeria? |

[size=13pt]My heart bleeds too my brother. Its such a very sad event. In addition to the accident, bombs keep dropping up north, may God help us. On Sunday 3rd June 2012, the Dana 150+ were gruesomely expunged from the face of the earth. Like a bad makeup it was an ugly sight to face. A terrible nightmare that many people like myself are yet to awake from. What a tragedy! Another air disaster opening wounds of Sosoliso, Bellview and ADC crashes.
