The Dapo Thomas that I know should be facing his lecturing job with the Lagos state university and not with tribalism.

He was among the lecturers who were drawn into politics, with positions, in the days of BAT/AD as the governor of Lagos (1999 - 2007). The other who became a commissioner for chieftaincy affairs was the late Prof Kunle Lawal. Their days with Tinubu did not show this level of tribalism and hatred for a particular tribe, so I wonder where this came from.

I do not want to believe that this reckless and irresponsible article was written by Dr. Dapo Thomas, as it is not signed.

However, it is of prime importance to let young and inexperienced Lagosians to know, for record purposes that in the military era, Lagos had two governors from the SE namely: Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe and Kanu. Lagos experienced peace and progress at their time, just like it was with other Lagos governors before and after them.

It is worthy to note that Nigerian citizens have fallen into the trap of careless, worthless and irresponsible politicians like this, who used tribalism and religion as tools to secure votes. Nigeria never experienced this level of hatred before 1999, when democracy returned. The politicians planted the seed of discord now festering among the citizens. While the citizens go to war, politicians take their children abroad to keep them safely.

From the article, one can only deduce a lot of bitterness and hatred. One is tempted to ask if migration is not accepted under international laws. If it is not a crime for people to live in places of their choices, within their own country, why has it become a problem to the tribalists?

Those who voted for APC, did that myopically along ethnic and religious lines. One will never forget the threats of MURIC if the Muslim/Muslim ticket did not scale through or Yorubas were not elected. He is a supporter of APC.

It is unfortunate that APC supporters are bewitched, blind and completely bamboozled. Obi/LP have opened the eyes of the citizens, irrespective of tribe, age or religion, to the crooked ways of APC. Now Nigerians want their country back from a few wicked minded political leaders, who have held the nation by the jugular since 1999.

LP surprisingly competed against APC and PDP, overrunning them is their own territories. It remains a deep pain and surprise to them that LP could go that far. LP candidates did not have the billions for voter inducement. Obi’s name did the magic nationwide. Who would ever believe that an Okada rider would join the elite club in the house or representatives, not to talk of the vigilante man in Enugu?

Can you define “divisive politics” please? That is, can you explain what it means, with due respect?

A move that has never happened in the history of this country. What a shame on our desperate politicians, who chose the path of bribing voters, voter suppression and ballot snatching.

It was the same Atiku who was in a rush to become the President in 2003, attempted to subvert OBJ, the sitting President of the same party, using 21 state governors and the same Ayu. Obi was never in a rush. Everyone has the right to aspiration. Obi had the right to aspire to become the President in 2023 and he did the right thing by abandoning the wrong platform.

Atiku himself brought PDP to its knees out of his desperation in 2014, when he he subverted his party, out of his desperation, taking sitting governors and several serving members of the National Assembly out of the PDP once again. His earlier sojourn with the ACN, showed that he no longer had electoral value. He failed all the time to see that the President is not for desperate people. GEJ became deputy governor, governor, Vice President and President without struggle. OBJ became the head of state and President out of nothing. Atiku was served from the same cup that he served others in the PDP.

Wike, another dangerous and desperate fellow, showed his irresponsible quality, when he went about, telling everyone who cared to hear that Obi would never be President. He told the Anambra people right in their faces. He was too desperate too for the position. He bought everyone buyable, but his money failed him. Thankfully his bitter nature was exposed thereafter. LP will take his state next week by God’s grace.

We all are witnesses to how Obi peacefully exited the party and allowed Atiku/Ayu/Bwala, etc have their way in the party. The rest as they say became history.

Without doubt, if Obi remained in the PDP he would not have gotten the VP ticket. Atiku never keeps agreements. If Obi remained in the PDP, without doubt, APC could have gotten more votes than they received. Atiku failed to pacify Kwakwanso too.

Obi’s movement to LP was a master stroke and game changer. Nigerians have become very tired of APC and PDP. Nigerians need some freshness. Nigerians need hope, a better today and tomorrow. Nigerians need some peace and security. Obi spoke the language that we needed. Obi gave the assurances that we needed. He has integrity and can be held accountable. If he could amass over six million votes in six months, what could have happened if he set off one year ago?

Atiku is no match for Obi any more. OBIdience mantra is far greater than what Atiku offers. PDP long lost relevance in the SS and SE, so I do not see the votes he relied on in those areas. If PDP could not defeat BAT in Lagos since 1999, is it not worthy of commendation that Obi perfected in it six months. If we add stolen and destroyed LP ballots, be very certain that LP scored over one million votes in Lagos.

Atiku’s greed destroyed PDP for three reasons:
1. He should not be on that ballot at all
2. He was unwilling to let Ayu go
3. He was not ready to make peace in his party

Unfortunately for him, unlike when he exited in 2014, Wike and his gang of 5 waited within the party to subvert it. Atiku has failed to make public comment on how Wike gave Rivers state to APC by all means.

For me now, it is clear that you can only ignore LP/Obi at your own peril. He has become the face of the common man. If an okada man could win the seat in Kaduna; a vigilante man won the seat in Enugu, then there is hope for the youths to take back their country. There is hope for accountability. LP candidates did not have to spend millions or billions. Obi did all the campaigning with his name and assurances given to the people. The candidates simply printed posters. Those who were visionary keyed in and succeeded.

Atiku must lick his wounds, apologize to Obi and PDP. If there is any negotiation to be made, it must come from PDP, begging LP and Nigerians. Obi has profoundly changed the face of Nigerian politics. He has showed the power of the people. He has proven that if bribe is taken away from polling units, money bags will not find relevance in politics and the right leaders will be put in place.

Lastly Atiku must pack his bag and baggages, as they say and return to Dubai, a city built by others , but adopted by him. If Obi returns to PDP, then he will lose relevance.

30 years and after all the efforts, his wife became a senator con the platform of LP. Obi’s name made the difference for her.

Soludo should rather think about the crushing defeat of APGA by LP.

With LP, Soludo may not exceed one term.

Atiku is full of regrets that Obi left him. He knew he would have easily won with Obi as his running mate but Nigerians prefers Obi as the president because he is the most qualified amongst all of them. Obi is the president elect.

If Obi ran with Atiku as his vice, APC would have overrun the country with over 10m votes. OBIdience movement would not exist. Obi would have been looked at as a political weakling. Obi made the best move.

PDP on its own is in trouble politically. PDP definitely needs LP to survive. Anyway, Atiku finally played his last card with the last election. That was his last bus stop.

Keyamo who was crushed in his polling unit? Keyamo who was crushed by LP in his own local government area. A whole minister flogged in that manner. No shame. Always doing otimkpu work.

Before talking to Obi, Keyamo should first pick up a councillorship form, fill it and contest.
