Hertsnite:your days of living a nice comfortable lifestyle are now well and truly over , your economies are now about to go into freefall and then you will understand what it means to suffer, the majority of your people are not skilled neither are they educated - only the middle classes and some of the upper classes are encouraged to go to school, but they are just a small minority, the rest of you are working class stiffs who in the past used to be given a leg up by your govt, they used to give you easy access to skilled jobs, most of you were given on- the- job training, help with school fees and other incentives, now your leaders have realised that they would rather ship all those jobs to china, india and brazil where labour is cheap so that their businesses can make bigger profits. only people who are highly skilled will secure jobs now but even the highly skilled jobs are now going to foreigners becasue again foreigners are cheaper to hire than the indigenous british workers, so you can see that your business owners and govt are quite happy to put foreigners before their own people not because they love foreigners but because of the huge savings their businesses make from paying lower wages and much cheaper overheads. Your govt is not intrested in educating or providign jobs for the young indigenous british people unless they are middle class or from wealthy families Most of your young people are ignored and treated as if they are invisible (hence the riots), also your govt is now giving the majority of its university places to rich foreigners who can afford the exorbitant fees- the idea is to widen the gap between the haves and the have nots - this time its not just blacks who will be affected but whites too. Also having a university education in these present times means nothing if thousands of other people have the exact same qualification, unless you are highly skilled ie a dentist, medical doctor, scientist, lawyer or other highly skilled profession you can expect to look forward to a life of underemployment or unemployment. oh, and africans are not treated fairly in the UK, the majority of africans in the UK face terrible discrimination in all aspects of their lives all the way from the cradle to the grave. |

these sentences are too harsh, i dont see how lockign young people up for 6 months for stealing bottled water or scoops of ice cream is justifiable, its a case of using a sledghammer to crack a very small nut, this a huge overreaction on the part of cameron and his eton club. when is he going to come down hard on his investment banker friends over in the city of london, what these kids stole pales into insignificance compared to the theiving that cameron's banker friends have been engaging in. |

In that book he described how the vast majority of men and women in your country were tramps and destitutes who were forced to wander up and down the country in rags pleading and begging for work and pieces of bread - in order to get something to eat they had to go to what is known as a work house which was like a prison, they were kept overnight in these work houses in dirty, freezing cold rooms and then fed with a piece of bread and some soup after which they were rounded up and taken out to work in the fields as labourers, the women were given other menial jobs to do like cleaning and washing of clothes. This is why so many of your country men took the opportunity given to them by the british govt to run away to australia, new zealand and south africa where they ended up murdering or oppressing the indigenous people and stealing their land and natural resources. The natural resources stolen from other nations of the world is what has made britain one of the richest countries in the world - britain does not have an abundance of natural resources and prior to colonialism was overpopulated, poverty and desperation is what made your ancestors decide to explore beyond your wretched country, it was nothing to do with a sense of adventure it was pure desperation, you literally were dying of starvation in your country. Even when your explorers brought back wealth it did not trickle down to the poor instead only the aristocrats enjoyed the wealth, your ruling class treated the lower social classes like garbage and still do till today. The ruling elite did not want a revolution in britain (like the one that happened in france and russia) and thats why they compromised by creating the welfare state, they were and still are afraid of the working class who make up 80% of the population in britain. Britain is one of the most unequal countries in the world, in britain the class you were born into is usually the one you end up dying in - social mobility is very limited and now that cameron and his fellow old etonians have made education beyond the reach of the poor by increasing university fees, the gap between the rich and the poor will widen at a much faster rate. so why are they coming in and buying up public utilities like the power supply companies, setting up branches of walmart and buying up large tracts of land ? the only reason a foreign investor would shun an african country is if there is no prospect of making a huge profit at the expense of the indigenous people thats why they have offshored most of their manufacturing capabilities to the far east - cos its cheaper to run businesses there, you dont have to pay staff a living wage and you can hire and fire whenever youi feel like it. nigeria is currently a great place for foreign investors cos they can treat nigerian workers like slaves in their own country, pay them a pittance and kick them out when they are no longer needed, this is what they mean when they say they need a conducive environment for foreign investment. all that talk about infrastructure, electricity and other things is a diversion, they know the nigerian govt isnt putting aside enough money for infrastructure development because that money is being used to service debt that the nigerian govt owes to their international banks. |

Just listening to a nigerian guy on the radio (LBC 97.3) narrating a story of how he observed the riots in peckham first hand. The nigerian guy was driving around the old kent road area when rioting kicked off there, he witnessed a rioter being handcuffed and thrown down on the ground whilst he was on the ground the same policeman started kicking him in the head, the nigerian guy then started filming this, all of a sudden the white policeman ran over to the nigerian guy (who was filming from inside his car) and shouted at him to hand over his phone, the guy started arguing with the police and another police officer came round to the other side of his car and smashed his window and snatched the phone (which was on the dashboard). the nigerian guy was then dragged out of his car, handcuffed and pushed down onto the floor, meanwhile the police seized his phone deleted the video that he had just filmed and then uncuffed him and told him he was free to go home. This should tell you that there is more to this riot than you are being led to beleive, something is not right here, the police were quite capable of coming down hard on SOME people who were rioting but not on others - why? In some cases they chose to stand down and in other cases they brutalised rioters - why? |

martinosi - its like you are reading my mind, i am watching question time now, at one point i had to turn it off but then i turned it back on again and there were a few suprises: for example im quite impressed with some of the things Prescott is saying especially what he said about the bankers being the cause of the economic melt down. The majority of people in the audience seem to be white middle class or working class and you could tell were their allegiances lie, the british media are now trying to create a racial divide by casting the black rioters as the villians while totally ignoring the overwhelming presence of whites during those riots. this debate is moving the issue away from the reall issues that should be debated ie: the gap between the rich and the poor in england the racism and social exclusion that blacks are condemned to live under the moral bankruptcy of the elite and their plan to totally disenfranchise the poor and throw them out into the darkness the british media are continuing to use black people as scape goats - they are focusing on the looting but not on the root causes of the looting, the idea is to DIVIDE the british people along racial lines and get the whites to see blacks as the enemy - divide and conquer tactics are alive and well with the british establishment. |
