Sean Dyche and Roy Hodgson are Average, while Arteta, Eddie Howe and Lampard are Good Ok.ooo
Despite Sean Dyche's Burnley constantly finishing above Eddie Howe's Bournemouth almost every season, and qualifying for Europa last season, despite spending considerably lower than Eddie Howe, even this season Bournemouth are pulling every stunt in their locker to get the season abandoned to somehow save them from going down. But Howe is better than Dyche. Ok oo.
Roy Hodgson that took over palace in 2017 after losing 5 straight matches without and the laughing stock of everyone, and get them finish comfortably since then, Same Hodgson that led unfancied Fulham to Europa Final. What has Lampard done in his managerial career? What has Arteta done to be ranked above Dyche and Hodgson? Eddie Howe is the most overatted manager in the premier league.
raumdeuter: While VVD was doing the pointing, Matip was doing the actual marking, Matip didnt care about getting driblled or to preserve his dribble record,, he wasnt waiting for crowd to help him, He took the responsibility of stopping Messi
Very intelligent submission, I always knew van dijk is a fraud, the day I confirmed it was when Ismaila Sarr and Denney ran rings over him. He was responsible for all Watford goals. But no, its Lovrens fault
timbros: This is one of the very few times "...when called upon..."
Look at this image very well. There are 5 Liverpool players here but we all know that VVD will be the very last person to engage Messi. He will point till even Henderson will mark Messi first.
Messi can never dribble past VVD, not because he doesn't have the skills to, but because he will never catch the retreating traffic warden.
Hhahahahahahah. Bros, are u saying that the only time VVD go to defend is only when he is "Called Upon"?
guy222: They should bring the oil back and share 50 50 litres to us as palliative, abi the oil no be our own again, Atleast some of us go turn mini filling station for one week, selling mode already activated.
spillo1: Lol back then intentionally elbowing a striker in the face was a perfectly valid defensive play rather than a penalty and red card. Some of all these ajebutter strikers and players of today won't be able to cope.
Am telling you. If you take Ronaldo and Messi to that time, they will not score as much as they are scoring now. And that time, there are more world class defenders available
raumdeuter: You can only face whats in front of you. Boateng only faced whats in front of him which included some of the best strikers of his generation in Messi Aguero
spillo1: Ronaldo had a great World Cup 98 and was the best player I still believe if he didn't had that seizure Brazil would have won , but it was not entirely his World Cup; Rivaldo was immense, as were the french team, Vieiri, Luis Hernandez, Salas, Suker, Bergkamp and Frank De Boer, Laudrup brothers, etc... This was a World Cup where almost every team brought in something to the table.
I have actively watched all world cups from 1994, but France 98 was the best. See stars.
-Valderramma and Asprilla from Colombia. - Beirhoff and Klinsmann from Germany. - Kluivert, Seedorf, Davies, Bergkamp, Stam, De Boer brothers from Netherlands. - Brazil was lite. Ceaser Sampiao was the unsung hero. France was laden with stars, the only surprise was Stéphane Guivarc'h starting. Mihajlovic of Yugoslavia. Croatia has Suker, Prosinecki, Denmark has Sand, Laudrup and Schmeichel. Italy was overloaded. Romania with Hagi and co.
True true, Football that time was hard ooo, those attackers that period de try oo. See intensity. Where is raumdeuter? Come and see World cup final defensive performance, no be dat audio one wey you de dash Boateng for 2014.
afrodoc2: I always say the greatest teenage players ever are Pele and R9. Until his body and those Italian killers betrayed him he was on a mad trajectory.
I am telling you. But I also noticed something, Brazilians especially attacking players dont last at the top, they easily loss form before 30. EG, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Rivaldo, Coutinho, Adriano and even Robinho although his career never got off.
afrodoc2: Common misconception. Ronaldo won the best player award.
Really? I never knew oo, i thought it was Zidane, because he (Zidane) later won both the ballon dor and FiFa world best player that year. Honestly Ronaldo in 1998 was unplayable, even though he was just 21 at that time, One of the players in history to dominate 2 consecutive world cups. The reason I was offended at the name "Fat Ronaldo" lol
spillo1: It's not a comparism between those keepers/Defenders and the players you mentioned. Baresi was the best defender in that tournament likewise Buffon in 2006 and Neuer in 2014. Dominate respective of their positions.
You are absolutely correct.
There is also Dino Zoff in 1982 and Oliver Kahn in 2002.
Kimbeast: I know he was immense in 2002 but What if I told you he was better in 98 than 02?
Ronaldo was a better player in 1998, But he absolutely dominated the 2002 tournament. The only match he did not score in was versus England in the 1/4 finals, he was head and shoulders above every attacking player in that tournament(Rivaldo has a case though) and Hassan sas of Turkey. In 1998, for me, he was also the best player in that tournament, he was allegedly poisoned and suffered concoction before the final, but there was also Dennis Bergkamp, Zidane and Davor Suker. Zidane won the best player though.
spillo1: Neuer at 2014 World Cup and Buffon at 2006 World Cup. Defenders - Cannavaro in 2006 World Cup, Baresi in 1994 World Cup and Nesta in 2003 Champions League.
- Neuer did not dominate 2014. He might be the best Keeper but did not dominate that world cup.
- Likewise Buffon in 2006, though he conceded 2 goals(zaccardo own goal vs USA and Zidane penalty in the final), and he was phenomenal, but dominate? No. That world cup belongs to Zidane, and Cannavaro.
- 1994 world cup Baresi was the best defender and among the best players overall in that tournament. But Romario and the Holy Pony tail Baggio were the dominant figures in that tournament.
I am not a huge fan of Martial, but i will chose him ahead of Kane. Kane is a injury prone and could be another Sanchez. Martial is starting to score and you intend binning him?
