Look at this image very well. There are 5 Liverpool players here but we all know that VVD will be the very last person to engage Messi. He will point till even Henderson will mark Messi first.

Ronaldo had a great World Cup 98 and was the best player I still believe if he didn't had that seizure Brazil would have won , but it was not entirely his World Cup; Rivaldo was immense, as were the french team, Vieiri, Luis Hernandez, Salas, Suker, Bergkamp and Frank De Boer, Laudrup brothers, etc... It's not a comparism between those keepers/Defenders and the players you mentioned. Baresi was the best defender in that tournament likewise Buffon in 2006 and Neuer in 2014. Dominate respective of their positions.
