Former head of EFFC was confirmed by wikileaks as reporting directly to CIA as an undercover, wikileaks also provided substanciated prove of CIA funding boko haram operations through political conduit pipes, it doesnt end there . . It goes on . . . [b]Now God has vindicated the innocent JTF troops who daily risk their lives in the service of fatherland. . . Reuters withdrew their negative reports, a situation which has never occured in terrorism reporting, al-jazeera known 4 supporting human right propaganda even withdrew theirs today when their news correspondent mrs.Yvonne confirmed with her own eyes there were only 20/30 graves which was used to bury the terrorists and only about a few houses were blazed. She further confirmed that the number of houses in baga is nt even up to the said collateral damage figure, i am fuckin wetin for the racist bbc and cnn to follow suit or face lawsuit for false alegations and defamation of character

I dnt believe most nigerian media houses and western news sources these days when it comes to issues of terrorism, the just cook up stories without even getting 1 mile close to the combat zone, the worst of them is saharareporters a nigerian own media house reporting all the from New york by just using unconfirmed news sources. As much i kinda distrust the FG bt i belive the military account whole heartedly. . . Their own part of the story is nt always heard.

Henry120: Did the poll involve other races or just the white ruling class? Andrew, you were born during apartheid, as a white south african, what is your personal perspective on apartheid?

Nigeria faces a monumental task of tackling this insurgency. Please do not compare what we are facing now, to what south efrika faced in the 80's.
Troops have to deal with guerrilla warfare, suicide attacks and IED's from people who believe that when they die in jihad, they'll go to paradise and have 72 virgins

In the southern part of nigeria, 95% of women are literate, with a large number of them going for their masters degree. Polio has since been eradicated. Poverty is low. The north has one of the highest illiteracy level, polio and beggars are rampant in the north. The environment is hostile. While the south of nigeria continues to look like brazil, india in growth and infastructure, the north of nigeria is looking more like yemen and pakistan with constant terror attacks.

So you can see that, illiteracy and poverty induced by northern leaders, with a mix of islam spells disaster. They cannot be reasoned with. The task before the nigerian army is huge. Infact south africa should thank her stars that she has a very low muslim population and Christian neighbours.

Sometimes I wonder what is wrong with muslims, infact what is wrong with black african muslims, for crying out loud the religion these people are fighting for is imported, arab religion. Why don't africans just practise our traditional religions and live in peace.
one of nigeria's greatest problem and thorn in the heart is the huge northern muslim population. Though nigeria has its corruption issues bt the northern muslims is a more bigger problem. . . The just tend to resolve to suicide attack in resolving personal vandeta.s! the are taught that western education is sacrilageous thus the high ilitracy rate! High illitracy coupled with their "noting-to-write-home-about" religious ideology lives them in poverty. The constitute the highest percentage of poor population. The are burden to the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the major stumbling block to explosive economic growth. But the goddam fact which i hate bt stil remains the fact is that "to keep Nigeria one is a task that must be Done"

there is humanly posible way the can brrbe the FG, though all'a them politicians are corrupt bt they still those who stil take pride in nationhood &sovereignty. And Even though the could, the would propably pay through their noses, each politician would be anticipating a balance of nt less than $50 mil considering how much the worth themselves and how the stand to loose if Nigeria collapses. Bro, it is nt everything that can be handled with money, if it was so the US Would have bribed former sorviet union officials into making the USSR disolve. Bt instead the used covet operations using osama bin laden directly just as the are using BH leader Shekau indirectly in nigeria

You can't make a section with this less input. I'd prefer we stick to this thread, any information we have, we share here and discuss.

A military section would be a bad idea.
no your wrong, i have seen many enthusiatic military lovers in this forum, who even go as far as posting weapons, baracks, military infos, military applications opportunities etc. We just need to ring the bell and the followers will converge.

ok if this is true, that means they (the USA) understands the future of our beloved country, they know how great it is gonna be. And if it is not, i think there is still a lot to learn from this article... I have once read a summary of the illuminati book (just want to bring a point frrom there nothing else) that africa will be the power house and the us will be doomed for some time by 2050. There are prophecy that nigeria will surpass 2015.
its quite true, just that some nigerian would rather die western butt lickers than stand up to the horible truth. Igbos are too wise to be deceived by burger gulping yankees. We would not interfere if they keep their activities away from alaigbo. Msauza: This comes from the United Nations website, they confirmed the deaths and that is the case am afraid. I rest my case.

22 April 2013 – Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has voiced shock and sadness today at reports of high numbers of civilians killed in Nigeria’s Borno State following armed clashes there between Government forces and an extremist group.

Over the weekend, fighting between Nigeria’s military and Islamic extremists caused the deaths of at least 185 people in the northeastern town of Baga, media sources have reported.

“The Secretary-General reiterates his firm conviction that no objective sought can justify this resort to violence,” Mr. Ban’s spokesperson said in a statement.

“He expresses his condolences to the bereaved families and calls on all extremist groups to cease their attacks.”

Violence fuelled by sectarian motives is not uncommon in Nigeria where the Islamist group, Boko Haram, has frequently resorted to targeting civilians. Last year, over 100 people were killed when the radical group attacked churches in Kaduna State, drawing widespread condemnation from the UN.

Mr. Ban “underscores the need for all concerned to full respect human rights and safeguard the lives of civilians,” the Secretary-General’s statement added.
if Ban ki moon said that, then as much as i respect him, he must be a blockhead, did he visit the combat zone to comfirm the casualties or just sat in his office an take in unconfirmed news cooked up and distributed by opposition groups in the country to foreign medias? I have already did a thorough analysis on those issues to prove that those saying 185 "civilians" died are bunch of Retards. What of the soldier that lost his life? What of the islamist killed during the encounter? This goes a long way to prove, that the 185 death toll is a fabricated lie.

Capnd143: if 185 people died then why were their bodies nt found? Do you just go about believing any foreign media source? I know if this was SA Case my compatriots would have believed, so i want to be unbiased here! Now lets be realistic! "Baga" is a very small village of very low population density and dispersed settlement! Remember the people living there are mainly nomads, which indicates there are basically "on-the-road" type of people. Now in baga, acording to available geographical data, it will take more than 400,000 metres of swat of lengthy land of lets say thousands of metres wide, to accomadate 2000 houses and their rangelands and their cattle, camels and rams! Now it means will take 400,000 metres of combat circle radius to destroy 2000 houses! Considering the fact that the number of terrorist were only close to a hundred and a few Multi-national force comprising of . . . .
of chadian, camerounian, nigerien and nigerian troops. It will definitely nt be possible to stretch out that far during combat! And only the troops were nt wielding missiles or hydrogen/nuclear nukes, so i dnt see how the could easily blaze 2000 covering 400,000 metres of arid land! Even though reports has it That the militants were reportedly firing RPG's like rifles i dnt see a near realisable posibility of them possesing enough grenades to blaze 400,000 metres of combat radius. And even though the did, that means that more than 185 would have surely loosed their life given the False fact that 2000 houses were blazed, if 2000 were blazed then there is that posibility that one out of every three houses must civilians KIA'S or CIVILIAN WIA'S. Please think like an african that you are bro. Thanks

In Nigeria, Clash With Militants Kills Scores

By ADAM NOSSITER
Published: April 23, 2013

DAKAR, Senegal - One of the deadliest clashes between Islamist insurgents and security forces in northern Nigeria has destroyed much of a fishing town on the shore of Lake Chad, killed more than 180 people and highlighted the brutal tactics of Nigerian soldiers in combating the nearly four-year uprising.

Almost 2,000 homes were burned in the exchange between militants of the Boko Haram group and the military on Friday, said Gov. Kashim Shettima of Borno State, where the forces clashed over four hours in the town, Baga. Some residents were killed in the fierce gun battle, and others died in a conflagration when their thatched-roof homes were set alight, Governor Shettima said Monday, having visited the town on Sunday after the fighting died down.

The cause of the fire was in dispute. The military said militants had set the homes on fire by using rocket-propelled grenades. Some residents, though, accused soldiers of starting the fires deliberately to root out the extremists.

Baga lies at the remote northeastern edge of Nigeria, a lightly governed area of high penetration by Boko Haram militants who are easily able to slip across borders into Chad and Cameroon. There is also a military presence in the town, and the clash between militants and soldiers may have been set off when Boko Haram attacked residents who were watching a soccer match on an open-air television, said an expert on the region, Kole Shettima, who is chairman of the Center for Democracy and Development, a research organization in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, and no relation to the governor.

Soldiers responded to the attack, Mr. Shettima said, and civilians in the town paid the price, as they often do in northern Nigeria. The soldiers "opened fire, ransacked houses, and killed who they killed," he said.

The governor agreed that the clash was a heavy one. "There was a very serious exchange of gunfire between the terrorists and the military," the governor said. "The terrorists used very sophisticated weaponry."

Witnesses in Baga said soldiers had gone on a rampage and shot civilians. Hundreds of residents fled into the surrounding bush, people in Baga said. Unusually, even the governor said the soldiers were partly to blame for the high death toll. Nigerian officials usually avoid blaming the military.

"Boko Haram and the military are both guilty," Governor Shettima said. "I don't want to entirely lay the blame on Boko Haram. They are both complicit in the crime. The duty of the military is to protect the lives and property of the people."

The Boko Haram militants "are everywhere," said the governor, whose state is the home base of the insurgency. The state capital, Maiduguri, is where the Boko Haram uprising against the Nigerian government began in the summer of 2009. "There is no place that is insulated from their presence," the governor said.

Brig. Gen. Austin Edokpaye, the local commander, laid the blame squarely on Boko Haram, saying the militants used civilians as human shields during the attack. The general said his men had been attacked at a mosque used by militants to store arms.

"It was around that mosque that our men were attacked, with several of them injured, and an officer killed," the general said. "When we reinforced and returned to the scene, the terrorists came out with heavy firepower," including rocket-propelled-grenade launchers.

Yahaya Ibrahim contributed reporting from Maiduguri, Nigeria.
