iani5050: SIMPLE OBSERVATION. DANGOTE IS BUILDING 12,000MW WITH $5.5 BILLIONS. DURATION IS TWO YEARS.
WHEREAS FG OF NIGERIA IS BUILDING 3.000 MW WITH $5.8 BILLIONS . DURATION IS SIX YEARS.
THAT'S NIGERIA FOR YOU! ignorant one. Go back to the dangote thread and read again. The gas from his refinery is enough to generate 12,000mw but he won't even be generating up to 1000mw. The largest power plant in the world is in China. I thinknit generates about 20,000mw and it's hydro. No single gas plant can generate that. Get yourself educated |

Please try and be analytical, KANU was not the first to speak up, he was not even significant...but do you know why he's one of the most popular political personality in Africa ( a fact u might want to argue)...is because of the hate speeches (he abused the Igbo and Ohaneze the most), that was how he got your attention and for the past two years he has toned that down a notch/
The only and major mistake of KANU is that he made it an Igbo struggle.
I choose to respond to ur mention because I believe you can transcend beyond hate and see that the objective of KANU is to have a better Nigeria, he understands Biafra is near impossible and ready to accept a Confederate State of Nigeria. WHAT DO YOU WANT, WHAT ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR?? I'm for restructuring. If you are as smart as you are trying hard to appear you would have seen that on my signature. So even if the country is going to divide KANU has to insult other ethnic groups and create enemies for his people while at it? He has to do so by commuting treasonable felony? |

The ring road is world bank-financed, the Gbongan-Osogbo-Ikirun road is a federal government road, of which he will be refunded. Most of the schools are UBE projects. Opon imo that gulped close to #10 billion, has disappeared and died a natural death. The needless airport project which he used to siphon money, has been taken over by weeds. WisdomFlakes: Ladoja is being a hypocrite in this matter. He tried to do the exact same thing the current governor is about to do but could not due to his political problems at the time. Other governors before and after Ladoja also tried to implement this but couldn't for political considerations. The fact of the matter is that this is long over-due, and only a second-term governor can muster the political will to effect this change in the traditional system of the city. The decision is a unanimous one that enjoys the support of all relevant stakeholders.
There are some important and far-reaching decisions that some governors have to wait till their second term to implement (because by then they will have nothing to lose since they won't be standing for re-election again, so it is only natural that Ajimobi is the one finally taking this step since he's the first 2-term governor in the history of the state). The Olubadan should deal with the reality of times. please enlighten me. How will dividing Ibadan into 32 kingdoms benefit Oyo state economically and speed up development? How will it attract investors? Will the 32kings not earn salary and collect official cars? Will palaces not be built for them? |

13 local governments with 32 kings.
Each king will ave his own palace and also earn salary. Get official car and staff of office. Which means the state government will spend more.
But the economic/cultural benefit of a Ibadan having 2-3 kings per LG has not been mentioned. How will these ceremonial figureheads increase the GDP of Ibadan? What exactly is their contribution?
Am I the only that can't see the benefit of those stupid move? |

Basic123: Ehn ehn, what does that mean.Olubadan people could have decided not to become Oba in the first place, because tradition of ibadan is to have "Baale olubadan" untill 1959 when awolowo crowned the then baale olubadan to become Oba!
I dont think you are ok,the current system was designed in 1959 and its subjected to amendment only by the state government.Read your history wella.
The 30 Obas are under olubadan and he will be address as his imperial majesty just like an emperor,a title which in yoruba language is known as "Oba nla ti n fi oba je"...in english,it means "A great oba that crowns another oba"!,non of the smaller obas will be crown in future without Olubadan approval.Just like oba of obalufon and Abeere is to ooni and some other obas is to soun of ogbomoso.
Try and read about the amendment, dont just rush to crucify ajimobi due to your hatred for him on a concept that was actually bought up by the former oba to measure up with ooni, soun, alaafin and co with smaller Obas under them keep making a fool of yourself. Ibadan that has 13 local governments or so will suddenly have 32 kings. You sound more ignorant with each contribution |
