for NLs peace of mind we need to speak directly to the doctor and allow babyosisi to be the one to call and speak with him so some questions can be asked and answeres given between 2 medical personnel. We do not want any errors. Can this be done

I did not speak with the doctor. I spoke with DJ. I don't have the doctor's number but I think it's somewhere on this thread. Even if I had spoken with the doctor, I don't think I'd understand. Nevertheless, I can check previous pages of this thread for his number and whoever wants to call the doctor can go ahead.

I've made arrangements for a popular Nairalander to visit him tomorrow and speak with the doctor and also see the situation of things. He would stay for as many days as possible. That part is covered already.

Please how do we locate the hospital from Lagos? Has anybody been there?

Update.

Test/Scan result is out. Can't remember what he called it. Something like CD abi CTD (no vex, I don forget). The doctor said he can treat him just as he has done with so many cases. Treatment starts fully tomorrow. The doctor told him not to pay a kobo until he has been fully treated. He said we should please let him remain there.

However, one of the volunteers together with Mynd (probably) will pay him a visit tomorrow so we can be double sure.

He has turned off his phone. We agreed on the exact time he is expected to turn it on.

Thanks to the volunteers. I'll provide all the necessary info as soon as I can.

He called me this morning and expressed his fear and confusion. He said Nairalanders have decided to withdraw all support if he remains at Eruwa, therefore he is willing to leave. His family on the other side wants him to be patient. He is confused. He said his phone has been ringing off the hook...several people calling him to leave the hospital and also gave him a long list of hospitals, churches and mosques.

He is confused already and I think it's affecting his health. He is worried and has little time to rest. He also mentioned that his family is not having it easy either.

We spoke at length but I told him not to worry. I asked him about the hospital. He'll get back to me later in the day.

Above all, he wants me to appreciate the love and support of everyone. Thanks guys.

The more reason he should go to LUTH or UCH where he'll see a whole pool of specialists, consultants and doctors.

They would make referrals if needed. They are in the best position to do so.

If UCH then there is a doctor that has been contacted already, she was even expecting him yesterday but the plans changed. I think she should still be ready to help. She is an Hepatologist. There might be a challenge though as she said the doctors may go on strike tomorrow .

He is fine. He is on medications. Slept peacefully and woke up with no pain. Really glad they brought him to that hospital. Proper treatment starts tomorrow morning. He is being treated with care and lots of attention.

Today is almost gone, no tangible update besides making the trip to Abeokuta/ Eruwa.

This is so sad.

I think we should just let them have today. Abeokuta or no Abeokuta. It's the family's choice. Yes we care...but what do we do? Kidnap the guy?

With the way the doctor's phone number is flying around, I just hope he can concentrate on his patients...the family too.

This evening, we should be able to get proper update.

Passport can be processed and ready by morrow evening,I have that link but theres no way he would get Indian visa in less than 7 days at most, realistically speaking. So many worst cases already on ground at the Indian embassy. Besides, ticket, logistics , going back and forth with family would delay the whole process. We dont have that luxury of time.

@Caracta, what do you suggest we work with as plan B? Where does the OP stay?

He is in Lagos.

You know, the issue is delicate, OP makes the final decision regardless of how we all feel. At this point, we'd all have to put him in our prayers ,hope all turns out well.

BTW, saw the TEHN thread. Don't even know what to say

I think we need a Plan B...just in case Abeokuta didn't turn out well. I'm not a pessimist...but it's good to plan ahead.
