Isnt that why we have so many incompetent people in places of authority.. Believe me.. If u are good at wat you do... Your brain takes u places, not connection..
Need i remind you that most private universities in nigeria are owned by organization. How many people in the place of authority went to private university? they either studied abroad or federal school. Igbinedion University was founded 1999 and thats the first private university in nigeria.
you are decieving yourself if you think your brain takes you places not connection. Gone are those days where brain takes you places, if brain actually takes you places then no first class graduate will be unemployed.
EducationRe: 6 Reasons You Shouldn’t Attend A Private University by careema(f): 1:02pm On Sep 09, 2014
dryakson: Many Nigerian students these days often move quickly to queue for private universities when
making a choice of institution.

I agree that private universities have advantages like the absence of strike, easy access to
lecturers… Well, that’s about all.

Public universities, federal and state, have a lot of advantages, from cheaper school fees, to the
freedom to be an adult. Public universities expose you to the real world, introduces you to the
hustle of life unlike private universities that consist of a lot of brats who are literally spoon-fed.

They are so pampered, making difficult to face the real world when they become graduates.
So here’s my case for choosing a public university.

1. Public universities allow for freedom and independence:

Students in public universities enjoy the freedom to make decisions for themselves and learn to
be almost independent. Private universities keep students within the four walls of their campuses
and under certain rules more suited for teenagers than young adults. The laws in public
universities are not imposed on the students; they are just the basic principles a normal student
is meant to follow. It’s funny when I see pictures of private university students being punished or
hear of certain rules like compulsory attendance of chapel, feeding time tables, dress codes,
e.t.c. It is absurd; these are adults!

2. Cost of education:

It is a lot cheaper to attend public university than a private one and this is not limited to school
fees. Cost of living on public universities is also cheaper. Students cook their own meals and hav
e access to shops on campus and in town where prices of goods and services are competitive.
On the other hand, the cost of living on a private university secluded campus for one semester is
enough to build a house.

3. Public university gives “exposure” to students:

It’s more than obvious that public university students are ”sharper” than private university
students. Private university students who are often referred to as “JJC” or “Learners” by public
university students, live what I term “the microwave life” which is the easy life.
In federal universities you get to meet all sorts: from cultists to Aristo chicks, people with
different personalities. It makes one exposed to what life really is. One is exposed to the hustle
and learns how to struggle for things. There are still brats in federal universities but most of
them get to grow up when exposed to the hustle.

4. Life on and off campus is FUN:

There are so many parties to attend, clubs and events. One gets to meet real people, one also
learns to be real. There is a lot of gist and gossip, lot of things to laugh at. Rather than chapel,
it’s clubbing. Dating is even fun in federal schools. Couples express love without fear as adults.
One gets to see students that are rich and poor mingling as equals; students who express
themselves through their dressing and not relegated to some uniform.

5. Hard work is compulsory

Students in public universities have worked through exceptional odds to succeed; challenges that
help one not take life for granted. Imagine a department of over a thousand students with a very
small lecture hall or a lecturer who spends only twenty minutes in a class where he is meant to
spend two hours, or one who only gives handouts. Faced with issues like these, students work
extra hard to come out with well-deserved results.

6. Public universities produce more mature graduates:

With all the challenges: strikes, nonchalant lecturers, freedom to express yourself as adult etc,
public universities are more equipped for life after graduation. They know that things would not
just be handed to them and are used to making decisions for themselves.

https://m.premiumtimesng.com/arts-entertainment/167863-6-reasons-%e2%80%8byou-shouldnt-attend-a-private-university.html
You forgot to mention the advantages.

Private University

The truth is that the quality of education in some private schools are far better than those of most state and federal universities pointers, the 75% attendance requirement is observed to the letter... means a student has to receive lectures on a particular course to the tune of at least 75% of the total lecture period to be qualified to take an exam. Good-news is that lecturer keeps an up-to-date attendance sheet.
In private universities, it is mandatory for lecturers to come to class and lecture because they answer directly to school authority. Nigeria is gradually moving in the direction of India, where graduates with identical degrees are offered jobs either in managerial or middle cadre positions on the strength of their performance at the interview.
In federal universities most of the lecturers do not take their jobs seriously, some don't go to class for a better part of the semester only to surface towards the end of the semester and rush the students by just "running through the course", just as some of them go to classes to tell tales and give notes without a thorough breakdown or explanation on the course.
The administration of private universities is concise. For example, students who enrol for a four-year programme are sure of completing the programme within the specified period.
Most public schools graduate may be intelligent and smart but are mostly reliant on others, majority aspire to work for others which aren’t so to private university graduate. They tend to be versatile.
Public universities are not as prestigious as private universities, and some careers might be more difficult to enter after graduation. They tend to have what we call connection grin grin
I will not subscribe completely to the notion that private universities are better than federal, but I will say they are better managed.

egift: @Bold: Revolution is difficult in Nigeria. Here are what PDP will do if you decide to hit the Street for Revolution:
- It will give them an excuse to use Nigerians for shooting practice.
- If they can't bribe the organizer, they will blackmail them, kill them, form a parallel groups, try to hijack it or bribe some low ranking members to claim rivalry in the group. (many of these already happening in even the current Democratic process).
- If Nigerians revolt, PDP will introduce religion and ethnicity into it and claim it is because they are from a particular ethnic group.

The current APC democratic process is good because it is peaceful and gives Nigerians the sole responsibility to make this decisions. PDP are doing all they can to hold unto power. But once majority of Nigerians can decide to end this failure, corruption and evil, Nigeria will be great again.
Part of the problem is that the parties, apart from lacking clear ideological perspectives, are not fed by policy think tanks or intellectual groups from which they can draw vitality.
All too often, the opposition takes on the administration by reacting to statements or slips; it has not sought, thus far, to initiate policy debate, or paint a broader picture of the utopia to which it will lead Nigerians should it gain power in 2015

PoliticsRe: What Manner Of An Opposition Party Is APC? by careema(f): 10:34am On Sep 02, 2014
egift: APC is a breath of fresh air to the corrupt ridden PDP that has spent 15 years in making Nigeria a giant crawling on it stomach. APC is a viable alternative to PDP. Never in this democratic dispensation have we ever had an alternative that defeat the monster called PDP.

By voting in APC and voting out PDP, Nigerians will achieve 4 things in our Political Space:
1. That the Masses are the Boss. While our politicians are the servants.
2. It will mean the APC will not repeat the callous and nonchalant leadership dispositions that PDP have been dishing out for the last 15 years.
3. PDP will have the opportunity to go back to the drawing board to prioritize what is paramount to them (protect criminals or serve the masses).
4. And since PDP know how to steal, they will better police the FG under APC by exposing any imaginable malpractice even before Nigerians can find out.

So any Patriotic Nigerian will see that it is for the best interest of Nigeria to vote out PDP and elect APC come 2015. This nation will triumph again.
Same script, difeerent cast. the masses have lost before voting. Voting is a lost cause. What nigeria needs is revolution not some opposition party so desperate to win.

I come from a family of politicians. APC, same script different cast

Why wont your hair break when you rarely take out time to manage it and know the right conditioner to apply to keep it strong, shiny and well kept. You spent 90% of your time wearing fake hair that is glued into your hair and you expect your natural hair to remain healthy. This kind of foolishness is unforgivable! You be mumu! You are insecure and lack self esteem. And why is it that as soon as somebody snatches a fake weave off a black woman's hair she runs away and covers her face in shame ? laugh wan kill me die....You people are embarrassing us!

Lemme gist you all my experience, I received a text for me to come for aptitude test, funny I was at work, immediately I started feigning sick in d office, told my supervisor that I was sick, DAT I will come to office late cos I need to go for check up, my nice oga said I shud take a casual day off, i was jubilant.
Me being a punctual person, I got to the venue early, the house didn't even have window, I went on denial when I saw a nice insurance company not far. Na so I catwalk go meet security guy of the insurance company asking him to help me with the address, he pointed at that same house. It was so hilarious, but my curious mind got a better of me, I waited. As time goes on, applicant started falling in, see suit sending suit on errand, the guys and ladies looking sharp like Lagos Monday morning. I noticed a number of the applicants wearing Italian shoes. grin. If the windowless building was the only insult, we wouldn't have been so angry, they came late, like two or three hours late. The woman staying upstairs said that dat the so called company arent the owner of the venue, We dey later arrived, we filed in like primary school pupil, wrote the aptitude, yawa gas after d test wen that started saying something like 'in Nigeria, the big companies don't fulfill their promises, even mtn and othe' na so I hear gbam, one of the applicants don throw chair, the instructor try dodge am but he wasnt DAT lucky, they beat shege and bastard out of those people. me just dey l smile cos I felt bad for lying to my boss.

So her excuse isn't genuine enuf? Typical Nigerian man, you believe what ever you want to believe. For example I have a very stubborn natural hair, the hair they break comb, they combs it has broken self don break Guinness book of record, oh! I forgot to remind you that's natural hair is painful when combing. So tell me that's not a genuine reason lemme come and beat you to a pulp cheesy grin.
