Yeps. I don't know how I took them as a populous tribe but I'm now aware
They're few
as long that's more than a population of some countries, they're big. That's the figure in 2006, after 12 years, you still expect that to be the case today at 3.3% annual growth rate?

Among the "minorities" , they're in the majorities.

I refer to them as "minority-majority".

Where is my igala wife sef?

3million is not a big population to make the top 5 in Nigeria with the population of about 180m
what's the population of Belgium, Finland, Netherlands, Croatia, etc?

Jboyossai:
nice analysis but i dissagree with the fact that igalas are populous than Tivs of benue state...even Ibibio is bigger than igala
grin grin it's still based on that false assumptions. We need that true population figure that reflects what's on ground, but our leaders won't allow that because of the fear of the west.

We plan our economy and budget on an imaginary population figure , so you can see why the impact of our 'growing economy" in those days was not felt and it seemed we were in recession even when the growth was "7%".

The 1972 census dealt a blow to the igalas cos they refused to come out and be counted because they felt when they know your true numbers of those in a household, you'll pay more taxes. This is what led to that erroneous figure you have today.

It took gej become a president before people started accepting the figure you peddle for ijaw today. Apart from bayelsa , outside here, you don't have up to 5 monolithic LGs belonging to the ijaws . But they have the mouth, the media presence - you have to accept the figure they bandy around. Igala are really quiet on the national stage, hence the "no voice" status . Just wait until they have a president by luck(no one thought gej or ijaw could... lol) , you'd see how their number will be forced up.

I even heard ogbia people are not ijaw - so gej by implication is not ijaw . Bayelsa sef is not purely ijaw grin.

Minorities deserve better.

I just saw they're 1.5m
that wrong population figure? grin

I read a book about them last time and was shocked to see their numbers and spread. They have the number to produce governor and deputy in kogi state. Roughly 60% of the population. Kogi is falsely seen as 4 million+
(they're more than though). So, igala are estimated to be 3 million now.

I pity minority tribes in Nigeria.
Politics › Re: The Top 5 Most Populated Tribe In Nigeria? #DEBATE by Caseless: 1:56pm On Nov 11, 2018
Jboyossai:
wtf??! Igala? They aint even in the top 10!
igala is a majority among the minorities. Among the minority tribes, igala has the trait of the igbo people - they travel alot; they can stay anywhere.

The way I see them outside their state, sometimes, I feel you won't find them at home. By the time you visit their region, you'd see them as if no one left the land.

I told someone that if igala were to be in benue by now, Tiv for don see as e de be. Those ones won't let tiv rule them; it will be a shifting or zoning arrangements, unlike what obtains between them and the idoma right now.

The '79 population census wasn't fair to the igalas, hence the misconception that ijaw and tiv have the imaginary number.

If you check their ancestral or tonal link to the igbo, Yoruba, itsekiri , jikun, you'd know they have the numbers.

Minorities are not treated right by the majorities in Nigeria, but some minorities suffer this more.

lolssss but truth be told no body in your hamlet has risen to the level of obi and your generation to come will never get there. as for obi check his achievement and that of the fake pastor before the later become vice president and even compare them now that Osimbade has been a vice president for 3 years. obi is millions steps ahead. fact is that Obi is the only none that can transform the zoo if given a chance to pilot the affair of the zoo but ethnicity and bigotry won't allow zombies yet they cry and pray for betterment of the zoo. shutting Igbo's off from presidency and achieving a working zoo are mutually exclusive.
and how many of those states governed by the igbo are working?

Pls do not say what u don't know because the people of Agulu in anambra state are accusing Peter Obi of fanning Islamization agenda in Anambra by donating land for building of mosque in the community.. Can this same kind of person be a tribal or religious bigot?

U can research on it.
they say he's a tribal bigot, not a religious bigot.

It's about chasing northerners out, not about chasing Muslims out. We have Muslims from anambra, so allowing a mosque to be built is a thing done for all and not for northerners alone.

The story was published on 10th which you can see in link. I couldnt find statements before then so cant say this is old news. You can check his Facebook post on comments he made about Akpabio. His disdain for him is deeper than politics.

Lol T'Awak Shakur hit em up. Why would he admit to holding stifling his own state over partisan politics. This also contradicts his earlier Facebook post on issue. Unless he took a few too many sips out the flask I dont understand this.
of course, I was wondering why he's using public office to fight opponents and by extension his own state.

For the first time, he's making sense.

I saw the video of nzeogwu kaduna telling how he and his boys killed Ahmadu bello or how they played songs in the east to celebrate that coup and called northerners all sorts of unprintable names, I felt nothing less than a total rage and the urge to justify the counter coup.

If I see nzeogwu now, I'd still decapitate him. If I see his corpse, I will mutilate it and if I see his grave, I'd "pee" on it.

I hate that bastard .

It seems they fear him more than all this days.
you guys kept saying they're afraid of him, how? Why are you guys easily deceived? Apart from being a former governor, board chairman in a bank(or something) and being accidentally picked as a running-mate to a thief, what is obi again?

Afraid? How?

Obituary thinks he can "soft-spokenly" hoodwink us into believing he's a saint and has no ugly past or records. Now we know.

No doubt, Obi was a good manager of resources as governor or a good administrator, but his bigotry seems to have dwarfed his qualities.

Our leaders should watch what they do while in office cos it will back at them.
APC has won gubernatorial positions under Buhari in Kogi, Edo, Ekiti and Osun states. The victories were fair and square. The party lost in Bayelsa and Anambra. This President would never manipulate victory for anyone, not even his own party. And you ask us not to trust him? Of course, We will!

We will vote for President Buhari over and over, again and again, because he can be trusted. You can trust him with the resources of the country. He won't filch them. You can trust him with power. He won't misuse it. You can trust him with the well being of the land, he cares.

Therefore, let dem say!
don't mind those guys.

This emir can't say this under pdp.
