Fasting is not an excuse not to do ur work...just sitting down?.. Tell me if it was her own bizness would she stop or close her biz up pending the time d fasting ends.... Will a bank cashier tell her boss she is fasting so she can work?.... many folks are just using d opportunity to b lazy......

Am not saying she shouldn't rest at all ofcourse, food gives energy n if not taken means less energy. Rather what am saying is its not right to be idle n hide behind d fasting tin...
I didn't support her being lazy, and I think see where the op said she's a lazy girl even prior to fasting. All i'm saying is, she needs support at this time.

And some dumb mofos liked this kinda nonsensical comment. Why generalize?
poor construction of english.
I want to see you kick against 'generalization' when every muslim is tagged a terrorist. If this act was carried out by a muslim guy against a lady, muslims in his immediate community would have been put under watch by now and every one tagged a terrorist.

ARE YOU KIDDING? Fasting is not an excuse for not doing your Job! I have muslims as colleagues that still maintain their high level of performance during fasting.
I didnt say fasting should be an 'excuse' , all i'm saying is, she needs his support at this time.

see don't encourage 'religious blackmail' as he puts it. fasting is no excuse for not working or not working efficiently! most Muslims are not affected by fasting in their works even those that do heavy work like firewood cutting, load pushers or stone breakers. many do it even under hot weather without even drinking water.
her case to me is unacceptable. As I notice you just want to be lenient, I suggest you pay her half her salary (as payment for her reception and desk job) and employ a temporary staff to be doing the rest.
FYI I am a Muslim also.

Unless Labour laws specify it, she has a right to Freedom of Religion but no right to lack of productivity. Any company that she does this in will offer her unpaid leave during the period of the fast and make a quiet note of it, the next time the worker messes up over any other matter, job gone rather than forgiveness ( which is why you don't hear bankers pulling this stunt she did). OP, sit her down and tell her you respect her religion, but you spoke to some Islamic teachers about it and you think the best thing she should do is to take an unpaid leave for the month of the fast. I don't feel she's a great worker (you said she wasn't impressing you before the fast) so offering her the option of reduced work hours doesn't guarantee she will still be productive.

Muslim countries don't shut down because of Ramadam.
this post does not add up.

don't you see that the guy cooked up the story for saying that the girl fasedt on tuesday?
Maybe you should read the story again. This is just a blackmail from an anti-islam
maybe he meant to say thursday .

favoured234:
Let me believe that you wanted to type 'Thursday' and not 'Tuesday'
Maybe she is quite young and still feels the world revolves around her..
Sacking her might be the easiest but might not necessarily be the best.
Sit her down and talk to her, make her understand that its a business and not a Muslim religious body, and remind her that she is in Nigeria and not Middle-East or Saudi Arabia..
Give her a few days (say 3 days) to lazy around and adjust into the fasting ....

I work with Muslims, the first few days of fasting are usually the worst days when it comes to performances
spot-on!

Dangote is a muslim, does he close down all his businesses just because of fasting?

That girl is a lazy girl, throw her out jare and get another worker. Don't waste much time except you want to lose all your customers!
you people just don't read. Dangote na dry cleaner? Is he not an employer of labour? What does he do by himself? Is he the one watching over every company he owns that fast will make him to close them down? What's the connection of dangote with this topic?
The OP said her attitude started since fasting began, and not an everyday thing, so what's the basis for sack? He has a trusted hand who's under-performing because of fasting, so hiring he does not know what he/she will come with to the business is not the solution.

Are you kidding me right now? Will you let someone drag your business to the dirt because of religion? OP, please fire the lady so she would have enough time to do the fasting at home. Fasting is no excuse for not doing what you are paid to do. Simple as that
i'm sure if the girl in question is a christain, you won't say this.

it's been long I saw u here and without minding the side you belong to, your gender, I decided to check on you, and typical of those faceless kids on this forum, you are telling me you don't do PM. I'm wondering if the intent of my pm has a subtext.

Chores are nothing at all but if they begin to address it as a major concern then you've got to reexamine that girl - She might be lazy and hiding under such mentality to mask her laziness.
The lazy ones will always come up with such demand. No wonder they hunt for gentle guys; those that will not revolt .

The question is , if you are found in such a situation, upon her request, are you going to help her out?

If I hear say I near any work for house.

I would sure help my wife around the house. I used to think doing that shows weakness. I'm grown now and, I know it is going to be my responsibility as the husband.

Until I'm married, then I'd know how to go about that.

I duly welcome nigeria in to the sarakite dynasty. Una never see anything....non-kwaran's often refer to us as slaves of the sarakis especially when we go outside the state, well from the foregoing in recent weeks it apparent bukola is getting set to have his share of nija in his pocket too....his got the resources also arm with his international illuminati connection. Too many drama will surely happen in APC.
if he attempts this, he's going to fall faster than he thinks. We'll prove to him that kwara politics is not national politics.
