The governor has a security cabinet of which the CP, SDS and Brigade commander are members. He could have instructed them to deploy resources pending him notifying the center. To the governor's credit, it appears he did notify Abuja and yet nothing was done. It still does not excuse his cack-handedness in his stewardship of the security in his state. Bandits, gang killings, political thuggery and herdsmen have roamed far and wide in Benue since he took over. He even gave amnesty to thugs whom he later declared wanted (ie "Gana". The same governor, when Agatu was being ravaged barely came up with a condemnation. He actually ceded Agatu land, unilaterally to the transgressors, saying he had reached an accommodation with the Nassarawa governor to allow grazing in Agatu !
Compare and contrast his constant wailing now. Ortom has cynically used the deaths of his kinsman to bolster his political fortune by being hailed for speaking truth to power. Enquiring minds want to know why it took Tiv deaths for him to find his croaky voice.

Police was always a federal force, they do not answer to the governors. We've seen instances where the FG has withdrawn the police detail of a governor, leaving him with no security. There's really nothing Ortom can do if the police and military refuse to act.

Many are completely ignorant of this fact. They don't know anything about the Security arrangement in this country. This is one of the core issues of restructuring.

Governor do not control the police,army,navy,air force,DSS,efcc,nia,civil defence corps,nothing. The constitution did not mention anywhere that they are chief security officer of their states.

Having established that, Nigeria need to be restructured so that there can be at least local government police, state government police and federal government police.

How do people defend themselves from Fulani militias whom we are told are well armed? How do we defend ourselves from the Fulani President who is obviously protecting his kinsmen by not doing enough?

It is better to ignore some people and their comments on this forum. Some of these folks keep displaying sheer arrogance all in a desperate attempt to cover their ignorance. With very limited and faulty education, you hear them constantly talking about the Governor being the CSO and collecting Security Votes monthly, when it is very clear they don't understand anything about the things the talk about. Their arrogance will not allow them to learn even if you try to lecture them on certain things. I see the other one talking about 'Security Structure of a State' as if we have anything like that in this country. If you try to remind him that, all Security Apparatus are solely under the control of the FG, he will not listen. Like I said earlier, combination of daftness and arrogance will never let them acquire proper knowledge. They keep wallowing in their defective thinking with very limited education.

On many occasions, we have witnessed the FG withdraw Security Details of many people in this country. We have also seen the FG using even CPs to harass State Governors.

It is difficult if not impossible to educate terrorists. They have corrupt minds, hence, the reason for their arrogance. Talking about things they have virtually no knowledge about.

All the people taking part in this Fed conspiracy against Benue and the entire MB will answer for their crimes sooner than they expected.

Thanks once again. What is going on in MB is clearly a well orchestrated battle against Christians. Come to think of it. Of the so-called 19 Northern States, only Plateau, Benue and Taraba have Christian Governors. And these are the centres of these attacks. In Nasarawa, the Governor is a Muslim, so the attacks are only in the three LGs dominated by Tiv people. But God will not allow the kingdom of darkness to triumph over the children of light.

And to think the media department in the Villa issued a purported rebuttal 'on behalf' of IBB is amazing. Those people in the Villa should be included in the dictionary as perfect examples of goons.

May God give you strength to prosecute this war. Your elders need to start distancing themselves from fulani leadership and be their own persons. Your leaders need to meet with other regions for help too by letting them know that, it's now or never. I used to be an administrator of the largest online middlebelt forum. I have been able to convince thousands of my people why we can never be Arewa. In the past, I myself used to claim Arewa, not until I did a lot of historical digging and fact finding.
I am just a little bit financially incapacitated right now, if not, I would have started an offline group that willl mobilize our people towards this effect. Cos I have observed that no existing group from the region (including the so called middlebelt groups) understand what it takes to emancipate our people and establlish a unique identity for our people. The president of this group and person in charge of this statement Emma Zopmal is my friend.


Just for the records, most Nupes are muslims (like 75%). While the Gbagyis in Niger state are like 50-50. It is the gbagyis of Abuja, Nasarawa & Southern Kaduna that are predominantly christians. Those in Niger state have been heavily infiltrated by Hausa fulanis.

The tribes of Niger north (Kamuku, Kambari, Shingini, Dakarkari, Zuru, Dukawa e.t.c) are 50/50 or even slightly predominantly christians, same with Kebbi south senatorial district, but fulanis have largely infiltrated this region, brainwashed the indigenous muslims to their support, dominated and trampled upon these indigene christians.


Our elders like Yakubu Gowon who were deeceived into one Arewa, sold us out. But God willing, in the nearest future, the youths will emerge and say enough of this nonsense.

Our elders were completely deceived. It is very painful. There are six geopolitical zones in Nigeria and Middle Belt is one of them. The creation of these zones was initiated by Ibrahim Babangida who is from Niger State. Interestingly, he did not categorize Niger State and FCT under Core North but group them in Middle Belt. The same IBB moved the Capital to Abuja. How Middle Belt politicians were deceived into dumping their unique identity has been the subject of my research.
