The executive governor of Imo state, Rochas Okorocha, was spotted with his beautiful daughters, Lolo Uloma Nwosu and Mrs. Uju Anwuka when the governor took an inspection tour at Heroes square in Owerri, the state capital earlier today.

The governor inspected the work ongoing at the site as it was revealed that two statues which are under construction - will soon be completed and unveiled. 

Late last year, many Nigerians especially Imolites were angered after governor Rochas Okorocha unveiled a giant statue of South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma in Owerri, Imo state to honour him.  ‪

The Heroes square also accommodates statues of Rochas Okorocha, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and Ghana president Nana Akufo-Addo and 5 others erected.

Recall that Okorocha despite several criticisms insisted that he owes no one an apology for erecting Zuma’s statue, saying it was erected to encourage business relationship between the state and South Africa.

Here are pictures showing Air Force displays at Nigeria's 58th Independence Anniversary celebration at the Eagles square in Abuja.

Present at the anniversary parade were President Muhammadu Buhari; his vice, Yemi Osinbajo; the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen; and former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon among others.

After the ceremonial parade comprising of the Armed Forces, police and other para-military agencies, there was also a parade of the nation’s military hardware as well as air displays.

Earlier today, supporters of governor Akinwunmi Ambode, embarked on a peaceful demonstration in front of the residence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Bourdillon, Ikoyi area of the state. 

The supporters were armed with placards as they showed their support for governor Ambode following the political rift between him and his godfather, Tinubu.

While the peaceful solidarity rally was going on, Tinubu's residence was under tight security as policemen stood at the gate and across the road to control the situation. 

The quest of Akinwunmi Ambode to win a second term as Governor of Lagos State now looks more daunting than ever, following the emergence of evidence that Bola Tinubu, has endorsed Jide Sanwonolu, who served as a commissioner in the Babatunde Fashola regime and is currently the Managing Director of Lagos State Property Development Corporation (LSPDC).

Meanwhile, governor Ambode has restated his commitment to his political family, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

There was pandemonium earlier today in Imo after violence broke out during the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the state.

It was gathered that trouble started when supporters of governor Rochas Okorocha's son-in-law and anointed aspirant for Imo 2019 gubernatorial election, Mr. Uche Nwosu and angry youths of Amaike community, clashed after what they labelled as imposition of candidate on them. 

The angry youths decided to destroy and burn down three branded vehicles for Uche Nwosu Campaign Organisation at Amaike Primary School in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.

Another corpse has been recovered following the violence that erupted during the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election yesterday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.

The latest victim identified as Engr. Emmanuel Asuquo, the younger brother of the Etim Ekpo Chapter Chairman of APC and a party agent of Senator Udoedehe - was allegedly shot dead when Etim Ekpo governorship primary election materials were released at the APC State Secretariat complex, Ikot Ekpene Road, Uyo.

Meanwhile, another victim, identified as Ukeme Efanga, was said to have been shot dead by a fellow party member in Ifiayong, Uruan Local Government Area, during a disagreement over the distribution of election materials in the area.

The victim’s corpse was brought all the way from Uruan to Uyo, where it was dumped at the premises of the state secretariat of the APC, along Ikot Ekpene Road.

Some areas in the state capital, Uyo, were reported to have been taken over by the thugs, who many suspect are working for one of the governorship aspirants of the party.

A Nigerian man has won the hearts of online users after deciding to do the unusual. According to Exceptional Emmanuel Okorie who lives in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital, he decided to back his baby daughter to the bank and even caused a scene as people were looking at him strangely with some mocking him.

He revealed that he decided to do that because his wife was busy making her hair.

He also said he backed his baby because he loves the feeling it gives,

A carpenter who makes coffins - couldn't hide his excitement after he was patronised by a generous and loyal customer. It was gathered that a businessman ordered for 15 coffins from the carpenter and came to pick them after they were made.

The coffin maker who was very excited about the business boom, thanked his loyal customer and urged him to come back again for more business.

In a trending video, the elated carpenter can be seen loading the coffins into the pick up truck, ready to be transported.

A ghastly motor accident which occurred yesterday, has left people in awe. According to reports, a Reverend Father and another passenger were in the 4 Runner SUV which crashed along East West road after Odi junction.

The horrific accident caused the engine and the gear box to pull out of the vehicle which was badly damaged but the car occupants came out alive unscathed, according to a report by Facebook user Enisuoh Preye.

The Reverend father and the other passenger were taken to the hospital for checkup to avoid any internal injuries.

The things people do just to get what they want. A Nigerian lady has got herself trending online for the wrong reason after going to extra lengths just to get herself an iPhone X which was falsely promised to her by some guys in Sagamu area of Ogun state.

According to the Facebook user who posted the report, the slay queen was promised an iPhone X by some unidentified guys in the hood. The luxury phone was promised to her on one condition, that she will take drugs with them.

In multiple videos trending online, the lady who wanted the phone badly, can be seen taking some hard substances and also displaying her breasts in public before she later fell asleep after getting high.

Despite knowing that she was being filmed, the lady didn't mind as she set her sight on the "reward" which was NOT given to her after everything, according to the poster. 

The videos which went viral online - have sparked different reactions from Nigerian internet users - with some blasting the lady for selling herself so cheap just for a phone while others criticised the guys for "compelling" the lady to do so and taking advantage of her.

A pastor who flogged two young lovers in church two years ago has been fined 12,000 cedis ($2400) for the action that drew huge condemnation across the country.

A Circuit Court in Accra, Ghana, on Tuesday handed down the ruling against bishop Daniel Obinim of the International God’s Way Church and two other junior pastors for their roles in the assault.

A viral video in 2016 showed Obinim and his pastors publicly flogging a young man and woman he described as his children. The two, had been involved in a sexual relation that had eventually led to pregnancy.

Obinim was subsequently arrested by police in the industrial region of Tema after he handed himself in following an invitation from the police over the widely publicized flogging.

“We have just commenced investigation into this issue, when we finish we will hand him over to Domestic Violence Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) to investigate the domestic violence issue,” police disclosed to local media outlet, Joy FM, at the time.

Bishop Obinim was seen on video publicly flogging two young members of his church for indulging in fornication. The pastor used a belt to repeatedly flog the two who are said to be living with him.

The sexual escapades of the two is said to have resulted in a pregnancy – the lady has since delivered and the couple were months back filmed visiting Obinim with the new born. The young lady is said to be an apprentice beauty therapist, whiles the young boy is unemployed.

The flogging was filmed and broadcast on the church’s TV channel and later went viral on social media.

I wonder how 2019 will be.

There was panic earlier today in Osun state as policemen embarked on a show of force ahead of the rerun election tomorrow. In a footage posted online, the policemen were seen patrolling the streets Ile-Ife of (Mayfair area) while shooting sporadically in the air as residents took to their heels and hid to avoid being victims of stray bullets. 

The Osun State gubernatorial election which took place last Saturday, 22nd September 2018, was declared inconclusive. 

The Returning Officer, Prof. Joseph Fuwape, declared the election inconclusive after the collation of the results from the 30 local government areas showed that the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ademola Adeleke, scored 254,698; followed by Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who polled 254,345 votes. 

INEC felt compelled to declare the poll inconclusive when it discovered that the number of votes cancelled in seven polling units (3,498) was more than the difference between the first and second placed candidates (353). It reached this decision based on INEC Election Guidelines made pursuant to Section 153 of the Electoral Act 2015.

There are speculations that president Muhammadu Buhari and Donald Trump avoided to meet each other at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday where they both gave speeches over the latter's controversial statement some months ago.

It was reported that United States president Donald Trump referred to  Muhammadu Buhari as “lifeless” shortly after a meeting between the two leaders on April 30.

Buhari, the first sub-Saharan Africa president to meet Trump since he was sworn in January 2017 as the 45th American president, was in the US for bilateral talks on Trump’s invitation.

That meeting ended with Trump saying he never wanted to meet someone as lifeless as Buhari again, Financial Times reported citing three persons familiar with the matter.

Yesterday,  Amina Mohammed, the deputy secretary-general of the United Nations (UN), greeted both presidents separately at the United Nations General Assembly, sparking speculations that they might have avoided each other over the tension generated by the statement.

Donald Trump delivered a speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday in which he touted his Administration’s accomplishments, spoke about the importance of American sovereignty and patriotism, and criticized “the ideology of globalism,” among many other things.

President Buhari also delivered a speech as he advocated the reconstitution and expansion of the membership of the Security Council of the United Nations which currently has 15 member states with only five world powers as its permanent members.

While some residents in Bayelsa state are lamenting over the havoc wrecked the surging floods in their communities, some are taking advantage of the situation to make money. Recently, some villagers in a riverine community in Bayelsa state, caught these big and massive fishes after their community was over flooded.

The villagers who were over joyous  - posed with the big catch, with plans to sell them.

Meanwhile, some affected residents along the Epie Creek in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State,  have bemoaned their loss and the discomfort caused them by floods that submerged their houses.

Ity was scooped that that the impact of flooding caused by the overflow of the waters from Taylor  Creek, tributaries of Orashi and Niger rivers, dealt a devastating blow to the residents.

Yesterday, members of a dreaded cult group known as Iceland - trooped out from their hideout in a bush to surrender their weapons to the authorities while denouncing their membership of the cult groups in Ukanafun and Etim Ekpo local government areas of Akwa Ibom state.

This happened after governor Udom Emmanuel, signed into force, the Cultism and other Violent Behaviour Prohibition Order 2018 with effect from March 12, 2018.

In a shocking trending video posted online by some cultists/militants, the masked men who were armed with various guns - called on the state governor to settle them as it's being done in order states.

The cultists said that they have been crying and suffering that's why they decided to carry arms.

They urged president Muhammdu Buhari, governor Udom and lawmakers to settle them (give them money) or else they would continue killing people including parents and children because they have no joy. 

They said they need freedom because they don't like killing people and if the government does not give them peace, there would be no peace in the state.

A suspect cultist was seriously dealt with after he was caught by residents of Opolo, a suburb in the capital city of Bayelsa, Yenagoa. According to reports, the suspect was allegedly notorious for robbing and killing his victims during operation.

He was caught by armed youths who tracked him down to his hideout across the river and brought him back to their area in a canoe.

On seeing him, the angry youths used machete, axe and other weapons to attack him and cut his hand in the process, in a heartbreaking video shared online. Watch below. 

This is happening days after two suspected armed robbers were killed by mob action in the same Opolo Community.

The suspects were caught by the residents and beaten to death with stones after they were spotted trying to rob mobile phones from a Keke Napep with locally made pistol.
