These are new pictures of the family of five who went viral after their condition (madness) was brought to the notice of the public by a former National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Progress Oberiko. 

The family of Mr. & Mrs. Ben Ogar popularly known as the Ogoja mentally deranged couple were rescued few months ago following weeks of intense search by a team from the Cross River State Government and Federal Neuro Psychiatric hospital, Calabar, Cross River State.

According to his wife, Mr. Ben and his wife lost their means of livelihood about the same time six years ago while still resident in Abuja with their two kids, and what followed was a mental disorder leading to the Mr. Ben relocating himself and his wife to his country home in Ogoja where he opted to stay in a shanty rather than his father’s house. His family rescued his first set of kids from him when he started showing signs of this disorder, and six years of roaming the streets of Ogoja produced the three kids he was rescued with.

Doctors confirmed Mr. Ben to be suffering from a mental disorder, while his wife is only having the ‘folie a deux’ syndrome as a result of her husband’s ideation. The children, two girls and a boy, are in very stable condition and are responding to treatment very well.

According to Progress Oberiko, unfortunately, support is yet to come from the government who initiated their rescue.

Pictures of a former Nigerian soldier are trending online following the killing of over 100 soldiers recently by Boko Haram insurgents in Metele, Guzamala Local Government Area, Borno state last Sunday evening. 

According to an online report, the ex-soldier who hails from Mbano local government area of Imo state, decided to join the army few years ago and was heartbroken after seeing some of colleagues and friends killed in the forest while fighting terrorists. 

The soldiers have been complaining of being equipped with inferior weapons which is causing the deaths of so many troops.

The young man decided to leave the military and search for greener pastures abroad where he is currently based. 

His pictures surfaced online recently as he looks unrecognisable to when he was in the military. 

The number of soldiers who were killed during the recent Boko Haram attack has reportedly increased to 118.

While responding to reports in the media, the Nigerian Army issued a statement saying that the number of casualties published on social media is false.

Two men who specialise in blackmailing wealthy men after pretending to be women have been apprehended by men of the Nigerian police force in Kano state.

According to reports, the suspects disguise as women in order to get to their targets who are mostly rich men. 

It was gathered from online reports that their mode of operation is to approach their victims with the offer of arranging ladies (themselves) for the men to sleep with.

If the man accepts, they will arrange to meet where they will scam him and flee with his money but if the man refuses, they will threaten to blackmail him by spreading rumours that he's not a good person and has slept with both of them unless he settles them with huge sum of money. 

The group was recently busted by police officers who have been on their trail for long following series of complaints from the victims.

The suspects are currently in police custody and will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Detectives investigating the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Abraham Badru in Hackney, London have arrested a woman on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. The late Abraham was the son of House of Representatives member, Hon. Dolapo Badru, representing Lagos Island, Lagos state. 

The 18-year-old female suspect was arrested on Thursday, 22 November (today) and remains in custody.

Police were called on Sunday, 25 March to Ferncliff Road, E8, following reports of gunshots heard. Abraham, a personal trainer, was found suffering from shotgun injuries and died at the scene from a shotgun wound to the chest.

Detective Chief Inspector Noel McHugh, leading the investigation from the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: "It has been eight months since Abraham was gunned down on the street in Hackney and we have been working tirelessly to find out what happened that night and bring those responsible to justice. We have followed up more than 600 lines of enquiry and viewed 200 hours of CCTV footage.

"We have been piecing together the details of Abraham's life and making good progress and that has led to this arrest today. The arrest is as the result of a separate line of enquiry, not linked to the rape trial Abraham previously gave evidence at.

"However, despite the progress we are making, there are still significant gaps and we urgently need the help of Abraham's friends and anyone else with information to come forward. There remains at least five potential witnesses on the street that night who have not come forward and there may be others who have information they don't think important but could be crucial for us in filling in the picture of Abraham's life.

"We believe Abraham had a number of girlfriends and we are keen to know who they were. It is possible that he may have been seeing someone who was in another relationship, and I'm appealing for anyone with this sort of information to contact me.

"Did Abraham confide in you about his worries? Did you notice any change in his behaviour? I know that this could be tricky, but I assure you we are solely interested in piecing together Abraham's life.

A 70-year-old woman identified as Madam Medinatu Ala was killed mysteriously in her room in the early hours of Wednesday in Ikare-Akoko in Akoko North-East local government area of Ondo State.

The petty trader living downstairs of a storey-building with her 3-year-old granddaughter at B/97 Okegbe Quarters, Ikare-Akoko was killed by unknown persons. Her head, two breasts, private part and intestines were reportedly removed and taken away by her killers.

The killers who reportedly shaved off the dreadlocks on the head of the granddaughter during the incident also hit another 75-year-old woman, Awawu Kareem (a neighbour in the house) with pestle.

Speaking with Mercy-Babs news on the incident, the 50-year-old son of Awawu, Abdul-kareem Abdul said: “I have gone to the farm this morning when they called me that my mother was dead.

I was told that she had been taken to the State Specialist Hospital, Ikare-Akoko. When I got there, we discovered she was still breathing but in a complex health situation.

“I live in the same house with her—a storey-building. She was downstairs while I live upstairs. I never knew they were attacked before I left home.

“My mother is in coma. She sustained serious wounds on the head and mouth. She was suspected to have been hit repeatedly with pestle by her attackers. She has been referred to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo for treatment”, Abdul-Kareem said.

A man who killed his 9 months old daughter on Tuesday, in Mbangur, Benue State, has been apprehended as he claimed he was directed by God to carry out the act. 

It was gathered that the suspect identified as John Depuun, snatched the baby from his wife, took her to a bush where he killed her. The suspect was later dragged to the police station by arrested by his neighbours and other villagers. .

During interrogation, Depuun admitted to killing the baby, but said he did as instructed by God. According to him: “It is my sheep and I decided to sacrifice it to God as demanded of me. .

I have not laid my hands on anyone's child and as such, should not be condemned.” He also denied speculations that he is battling mental illness.

However, his family alleged his change in attitude in recent days.

They revealed that he had informed them of his decision to deepen his involvement in the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary, a society in the Catholic church.

A Zambian government worker is making the rounds online after her nude picture emerged on social media and has now gone viral.

According to reports, the woman who is believed to be a staff at the office of Miles Sampa, the Mayor of Lusaka city, Zambia, sent her bathroom selfie/ nude picture to her lover which was later leaked online. 

This has gotten the woman heavily criticised and lambasted by internet users for the embarrassing act. 

A lecturer of Clinical Pharmacology at The University of Zambia -UNZA, identified as Larry took to Facebook to warn women about the danger of sending nude pictures to their partners in the name of love.

He wrote; Zambian women why ? This one works in the same office as our Lusaka mayor.

Please sisters if anyone asks for pictures of such nature, ask them to send theirs first or tell them to come and get it in person �. If you decide to send him a picture send acceptable images worse off, cover your face.

A woman caused fear among her neighbours after jumping naked from a residential building.

It was gathered that the unidentified lady stripped naked and climbed onto her balcony before jumping /falling to the ground as can be seen in the pictures.

The lady who survived the fall was helped by her shocked neighbours as it appeared she sustained minor injuries. 

The incident reportedly happened recently in Abidjan, Côte D ' Ivoire. 

The reason for her act could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report but according to trending reports on social media, the lady made the embarrassing move after allegedly getting high.

Report has it that the head referee who officiated the AFCON 2019 qualifying match between Bafana Bafana and Nigeria on Saturday in South Africa - has apologised for the costly mistakes made by officials during the game.

The Gambian football referee identified as Bakary Papa Gassama apologised to the Nigerian team after wrongly denying them two goals due to wrong offside calls, according to a report by OwnGoalNigeria.

Ahmed Musa put through Kelechi Iheanacho who tapped home believing he has given Nigeria the lead but Musa who supplied the pass was judged by the assistant referee as been in an offside position, something which turned out to be wrong after video replays.

In the second half with less than five minutes to go, Musa was once again at the receiving end of another poor referee decision as he was once again flagged offside incorrectly after slotting home what could have given Nigeria all three points.

The game ended 1-1 with Nigeria sealing her passage to next year Africa Cup of Nations but officials of the Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) still expressed their unhappiness to Gassama over the poor decision which cost Nigeria a win.

Gassama admitted the error and even went a step further by sending his apologies to Musa over the incident although he admitted that such errors are sometimes unavoidable particularly due to the non-availability of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) .

Here are pictures of the Zamfara twin sisters shortly after regaining their freedom. The young ladies named Hassana and Hussaina who were kidnapped a month ago were released unhurt It said after N15million ransom was paid before their freedom, according to reports..

Online publication, Daily Nigerian, said it spoke with the twins shortly after their release and confirmed that they were released.

According to media reports, the ransom was raised through crowd funding, family contributions and borrowing. The largest contribution came from a senator, Kabir Marafa.

On Wednesday, the abductors of the twin sisters threatened to kill one of the girls if payment of their ransom was not made on time.

The twins, were kidnapped last month in Dauran town, while distributing the invitation cards of their wedding.

A family member, Ibrahim Abubakar, who spoke with the kidnappers and the twins on phone on Thursday, said the kidnappers had reduced the ransom to N15million.

Liverpool star Sadio Mane had to be helped off the pitch in tears after being booed by his own Senegal fans. Mane played for his country in their 1-0 African Cup of Nations qualifier victory against Equatorial Guinea.

According to reports, the Senegal fans were furious with the 26-year-old when he spurned a glorious chance to double his side’s lead.

He was booed for the rest of the game, and at the final whistle, he slumped to the ground inconsolable.

In tears, Mane was helped up from the turf by his team-mates.

But after covering his face with his shirt, the Liverpool ace fell back to the floor.

He was again helped to his feet, and eventually came off the pitch with his head buried in his jersey.

Senegal secured a 1-0 win thanks to Luis Meseguer’s own-goal for Equatorial Guinea.

A supporter of the son-in-law to the Imo State Governor, Uche Nwosu, was shot yesterday during a public event in Imo state. 

It was gathered that the female supporter identified as Mrs. Gloria Opara, escaped death after after being hit in the hand by a stray bullet (in a case of accidental discharge), when she joined other supporters to march to the Ugwumba campaign secretariat located along Okigwe road, after Uche Nwosu addressed them at Freedom Square Warehouse roundabout, Owerri.

According to Iheanyi Daniel Enwerem, the incident occurred when the gun belonging to one of the security personnel on duty was alleged to have been mistakenly removed from safety which triggered to hit the victim, Mrs. Opara.

The victim Mrs. Opara, is said to be the wife of one Mr. Ifeanyi Opara from Ohii community in Owerri west Local Government Area of the State, was rushed to the government house clinic for treatment. .

It was a memorable experience yesterday as Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka who left Neptune-New Jersey to Nevada-Las Vegas a few days ago, met with the former American professional boxer; Micheal Gerrard Tyson. 

The 63-year-old self acclaimed Igbo spiritual leader and member of the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) Board of Trustees (BoT), was at Mike Tyson's residence at 7th hill Nevada in Las Vegas where he met with, and also, spent a quality time with the former heavyweight champion who was very delighted to have him around.

Mike Tyson competed for twenty (20) years (1985 to 2005) and reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion. He also holds the title of the youngest boxer to win the heavyweight champion; a feat which he achieved at the age of 20.

Since arrival to the United States, Chief Rommy took a keen interest in boxing. On several occasions, he has been spotted at EzeFit in New Jersey observing very serious workout sessions on boxing and general fitness practices.

His meeting with Mike Tyson has been described by various quarters as a welcome development and a significant move by Ogilisi, given the complexity associated with striking an appointment with the heavyweight champion who is now retired.

Speaking about his meeting with Mike Tyson, Chief Rommy maintained that boxing is an important aspect of fitness and should be widely encouraged.

He noted, however, that it is really a sad thing that boxing is gradually going into an unfortunate extinction in a country where legendary boxers hail from; the likes of Dick Tiger, Samuel Peter, Hogan Bassey, Ike Ibeabuchi and numerous other boxers known in their days for their massive strength and unending energy.

Nonetheless, he hinted on his plans to revolutionize boxing in Nigeria upon his return.

A man was severely dealt with and arrested after he was caught stealing in a bank earlier today in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state. 

According to reports, the suspect who claims his name is Ifeanyi Dike from Abia state, was apprehended while allegedly stealing from unsuspecting victim in GT bank located at GRA in the state capital. 

It was reported that the suspect goes from bank to bank - disguising as a customer who wants to do a transaction before looking for victims to steal various properties from including cash. 

After he was nabbed, he also claimed to be a graduate of Criminology at the University of Port-Harcourt (UNIPORT).

He was beaten severely as one of those who caught him - revealed that this was the second time he was nabbed for the same offence. 

He was later taken away to the police station after receiving some strokes.

Ahead of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match between Nigerian Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana football club of South Africa, Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has promised to give the Super Eagles $25, 000 (nearly N9 million) for every goal scored.

Governor Okowa gave the assurance (13/11/18) while interacting with members of the Super Eagles after watching them train at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba.

According to the governor who watched the training with some members of the state executive council, "we are truly excited as a state to have you train at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, we are glad that you are in Asaba and from what we can see, this is a team for today and the future."

"The fact that you are leaving Asaba for South Africa; we are sure you will get victory; you are doing very well and we welcome you to Asaba; as a state government, we will contribute to what you are going to do out there in South Africa, for every goal, we are going to give you $25, 000," the governor said.

He continued, "when you are back we are also going to host you here in Asaba, we want you to stay strong and success will be yours, because, we are a praying state and we are confident that you are going to South Africa to get a lot of goals; continue to work hard, you are on a national assignment, a call to service and you will succeed."
