A lady gave bystanders an eyeful during a fight in public with another lady. The ladies engaged each other in an embarrassing show after deciding to wash their dirty linen in public (literally). The cause of their quarrel was not revealed but lady on pink top appeared to have started the fight after slapping her colleague following an argument, according to a footage posted online. The lady in blue tried not to fight till the other lady (in pink) removed her wrapper and showed off her unclothedness. This angered her as she reacted with series of punch. She knocked out her rival who laid motionless on the ground after climbing on her during the fight. While the fight was going on, the men around were making funny noises due to the "free entertainment" as they filmed the clash. A Nigerian man has taken to social media to lament after his sister based in the United States was scammed by fraudsters. It was gathered that the Nigerian lady who lives, works and studies in California was duped her a total of $1300 (over N450,000) which she sent via a first bank account in Nigeria. Below is the story of how the Nigerian lady was duped as shared by Remi Adeoye. My sis said the guy sent her Facebook friend request and went on to start sending her some messages. She cautioned him and even blocked him for about three weeks. She later decided to unblock him only for him to send her a message shortly afterwards. She asked him whom he was and he introduced himself as Desmond Akunwa from Ugwashiuku in Delta State. He claimed to be living in the same state with my sister in the United States. He told a lot stories and claimed he was single He said he was interested in my sister. He equally claimed he was working with a company in California He later brought a woman from Naija into the picture, claiming she was his mother. The supposed mother started calling my sister very regularly and they later brought a little girl of six into the picture too. The girl according to them was a child from a relationship he had when he came to Naija and just slept with the girl and got her pregnant. That the lady died while giving birth and the small girl now lives with his mom The were always sounding so religious and pious The woman was already talking to my sister like her daughter in-law. Too many stories. My sister asked the guy that they meet and he accepted to visit by 10th of this month. He claimed to be building house in his village and was sending his mom money for the house He said he sent some money to his mom for procuring tiles for the house and the mom went and withdrew the money on Wednesday. Then on Thursday early morning, the mom called my sister and was crying that armed robbers came to their house, carted away the money, shot their gate-man dead, shot the small girl and made away with her car. She said the girl was bleeding profusely and needed to be rushed to the hospital. Mean while the guy had earlier claimed to be going on a training program outside his state of residence sent him by the company where he works and that he won't be very free because of the training. I told my sister to let me know of any move she is making with the guy so I can advise her and we had been doing it that way. I told her they might be scammers but let us see where they were headed Even when she told me of the Armed robbery incident, I quickly alerted her that it was a pure scam. That this is their usual pattern. I warned her very strongly not to send any money. But they continued pressuring her with the issue of the little girl's life being at stake, and the guy crying to her to help him send them the money that he would refund her when he came out from the training program. She later sent them the money into a Nigerian first bank account they gave her. They were even asking her for more money but she got angry and now told me a little about the more money and I warned her strongly not to yield. And she didn't send more money. Since then both the supposed mother and the guy have stopped calling her. The guy only sends text once in a while. I asked her to tell the guy to refund her the money because she has emergency. The guy agreed but subsequently stopped picking her calls. I feel bad because I encouraged her to give the guy a chance. I said so because I really want her to get married and she has been having wrong people coming into her life for too long. But I equally warned her not to do any financial dealings with them without letting me know. It appears as if juju was involved (although I don't so much believe in juju). She said she was very restless when they were asking for that money because of the little girl's life being at stake, that it was after she sent the money that she then realized what she did. The guy's fbk name is Akunwa Desmond. We have two foreign numbers he was using, his supposed mom's Nigerian number, the first bank account number that the monies were transferred to, and the little girls photograph. The Director-General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking In Persons (NAPTIP), Dame Julie Okah-Donli, has described the 2017 law put in place by the Republic of Ghana, banning the external migration of women especially to the Middle East, as commendable and a course of action that can be adopted for the prevention of young African women from falling prey to human traffickers and cheap labour merchants. The DG stated this on Wednesday at the NAPTIP Lagos Zonal Command, during the formal handover to the Ghana High Commission, for safe repatriation, eight Ghanaian women intercepted at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, by Officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on Monday 8th October, as possible victims of human trafficking. The NAPTIP Boss, who was represented at the handover ceremony by the Head of Operations at the Command, Mr. Taiwo Waheed, formally handed the women over to the Head, Consular, Ghana High Commission, Hussein Adam Amandi who was represented by the Second Secretary, David Ako Sowah. NAPTIP’s preliminary investigations revealed that the ladies, who are between ages 24 and 34 are possible labour migrants, six of whom have previously worked in Kuwait, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia, from whence they returned to Ghana at the expiration of their visas. Prior to their interception, the women reportedly left Ghana and arrived Nigeria with the aim of boarding an Egypt Air flight to Cairo, then proceed to Kurdistan, Republic of Iraq. The links to Kurdistan were reportedly made by their Ghanaian Agents who had convinced them of great opportunities in Iraq. The women were unable to give traceable information about the Nigerian agents who linked them at the Airport for further investigation which hindered their possible arrest by NIS. The representative of the Head, Consular, David Ako Sowah, expressed the Ghana High Commission's appreciation for the level of cooperation and good working relationship between the Agency and the Commission. The interception of the women is in tandem with a law passed by the government of Ghana in 2017 which puts a ban on the external migration of Ghanaian females as part of efforts to protect them from falling victims of human trafficking and other dehumanizing practices prevalent all over the world. This is contrary to earlier reports in the media which stated that the intercepted women were human traffickers. Preliminary investigations has revealed that they were possible victims of human trafficking and exploitation, bearing in mind the various reports of exploitation being faced by young Nigerian and African girls in domestic servitude in the Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries. They have also been successfully handed over to the Ghanaian authorities for further actions. A man decided to show his displeasure with the current government by laying on the road in a solo protest held yesterday in Zamfara state. It was gathered that the man refused the stand up as he gave one condition for him to do so, which is that the present Muhammadu Buhari led government should be sacked. This is not the first time an issue like this has happened. Just recently, a 28-year-old man, Nurudeen Lliyasu, climbed a telecommunication mast in Abuja, to protest the poor economy in the country. Mr Lliyasu said he would remain on the mast for the next seven days, adding that he was ready to sacrifice his life for the progress of the country. Mr Lliyasu said there was nothing working in the country, adding that the education, health system, infrastructure are all in bad shape. He said he was into transport business and other businesses. A young lady who has served as a housemaid for different families, has narrated her ordeal in the course of carrying out her duties. According to the lady based in Lagos, she was once beaten by the wife of her employer who accused her for stealing her husband's attention. She also claimed that she ran away after the man tried to rape before she found another housekeeping job with a pastor but the sexual harassment still continued. Her ordeal was shared by the Humans of New York on Facebook. Read below; “I want to live a happy life. I’m tired of living a poor life. I’m trying to save money for school but nothing is working. I’ve left home three different times looking for work. The first time I found a job as a housekeeper. But every morning when I got dressed the man would try to touch me. I was only seventeen. He wouldn’t even stop when I threatened to tell on him. His wife blamed me for his attention. She beat me severely. There were bruises all over my body. She didn’t even allow me to eat. But I tried to stay because I wanted to go to school so badly. Then one morning he tried to rape me in the bath, and I finally ran away. When I found a new housekeeping job, the same thing happened. This time it was a pastor. So a few weeks ago I switched to a cleaning job at an art gallery. But they just fired me for speaking to the visitors. I don’t know why this always happens to me. It makes me so angry. I get mad at my parents for being poor. I get mad at my friends for going to school. When I see their graduation pictures on Facebook, I just start crying. I’m already twenty years old. I should be finishing school, but I haven’t even started yet. But everything has it’s own time. Hopefully my time will come too.” See more; https://www.nationalhelm.co/2018/10/20-year-old-housemaid-narrates-ordeal-at-the-hands-of-her-bosses-photo.html
