A pastor and inspirational speaker has revealed how he almost crushed his son and killed him after he got stuck under his car. 

Pastor Alfred Akunchukwu who lives in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital, disclosed that his young son went to pick a ball which fell under his car and in the process, the little boy got stuck there.

The boy would have been crushed had the father moved the car without hearing his voice.

The excited father who escaped what would have been a tragic incident, took to Facebook to share pictures of his son under the car as he wrote;

"How can I really thank this great God enough. I would have killed my own son {King NICOLAS} just now if I moved my car without hearing his voice. I didn't know he got stuck under my car when he went to pick his yellow ball.
Oh, LET JAH BE PRAISED"!

Parents and guardians have been warned to be careful how they leave children/wards with toys to play with, most especially unsupervised..

This latest warning is coming following a minor surgery done on a little boy to remove a toy which got stuck in his throat.

The boy was rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan in Oyo state as the doctors attended to him and put him to sleep before removing the toy from his throat as can be seen in the pictures.

A social media user wrote; UCH, Ibadan doctors surgically removes toy stuck up in little boys throat. Parents, let's be careful with toys around the kids. God help us all.

A police detective has taken to social media to enlighten Nigerians about another trick being used by fraudsters on unsuspecting victims.  

Ogbonnaya Nwota, revealed that a young lady simply identified as Amaka, is currently in police custody after she was involved in a fraud case of N5 million which was paid into her account by a "good Samaritan" from Facebook who later rewarded her with N100,000. 

Read below what the detective shared on Facebook; 

She went down on her knees as she was ushered into my office, weeping uncontrollably, she muttered, 'Officer, please, help me. I need your help. Yes, I acted stupidly, but I didn't do it'. Having comported herself, I demanded to know her story regarding a case of fraud of N5, 000, 000 (Five Million Naira) I was investigating.

Amaka, 33, tall, elegant, hippy and busty, a young graduate in Owerri, is an active netizen of social media. She belongs to many Facebook groups. On one of the groups, the Admin on a Sunday morning asked members to post their account details, as someone maybe touched to 'do Sunday' for them. Different account details flowed ceaselessly on the group's platform and few confessed how some hitherto unknown persons have credited their accounts. Amaka got a chat up from someone who promised to send money to her the following day being Monday. The duo chatted for about 15 minutes on Facebook with the man bragging how money wasn't his problem but a good lady to spend it on. They ended up booking an appointment to see each other the following day since both of them stay in same city.

Both kept to the time of their appointment and in a few minutes, ordered for food in an exquisite eatery where the meeting was taken place. The guy re-emphasized how wealthy a man he is to Amaka and promised to see her more often, when he returns from his intended overseas trip. The guy was glued to his phone and ipad, pressing them interchangeably and smiling intermittently at no one in particular. As they were about to leave, he told Amaka to expect an alert of N50, 000 from him and while he was paying the bills for their order, Amaka got an alert of N5, 000, 000 (Five Million naira), which she didn't notice initially was N5, 000, 000 until when the guy asked her to recheck the alert she got, telling her that he mistakenly transferred 5M instead of 50k as promised.

Both headed to the bank in the guy's car. He told Amaka to withdraw the entire 5M from the bank, pay whatever charges and hand over the cash to him. He as well upgraded Amaka's cash gift to 100k. Amaka who was already elated dashed into the bank, while the guy sat comfortably in his car outside the bank premises. About 30 minutes later, Amaka was back in the guy's car and handed over the cash to him, having collected her N100k. She was dropped off few minutes after and she boarded a taxi to her house with indescribable happiness written over her face. What a day she exclaimed as she opened the door to her house. No sex, no request for sex, no touch, no even a hug and she was given N100K. It was simply unbelievable to her.

A week later Amaka was at her bank's ATM to withdraw some cash, but the card got trapped. She went into the bank to lodge a complaint and possibly retrieve her card, but instead of giving her the card, she was handed over to the Police and that was how she was brought to my office.

Police investigations linked Amaka's bank account to a sum of Five Million naira moved from a certain company's account that was hacked into by some fraudsters.

Investigation is ongoing, but until Amaka produces the guy she alleged transferred the said money to her, of course whose Facebook is no longer in existence and phone number inactive and the guy also admits to have made the said transfer to Amaka, Amaka will definitely be contesting her innocence in the court of law, where she will be charged for fraud.

Times are perilous, my people. The criminals are obviously getting wiser and you must remain vigilant in order not to be tacitly involved in a crime you know nothing about. Secure your account details and report to the Police if you receive any suspicious credit alert.

A man has been accused of beating his wife mercilessly over allegation of having extra-marital affair. 

It was gathered that trouble ensured between the couple. Mr. Gbenga Ogunleye, 42, a mechanic and his wife, Mrs. Nike Ogunleye, a native of Abeokuta in Ogun State, over alleged extra-marital affair levelled against the wife on Sunday (yesterday). 

Mrs Ogunleye who was beaten to pulp by her hubby at their residence in Ifo Local Government of Ogun State, 

In a chat with Veno Correspondent, Mrs. Ogunleye described her experience in the hands of her hubby as a sad development over an allegation that he can't proof. The couple got married 16 years ago and the marriage has been blessed with 3 children.

She further revealed that her hubby invited her out within the neighborhood and raised the allegation of having an extra-marital affairs with a man identified as Baba Habeeb.

"I was shocked! I told him that Baba Habeeb's wife is a friend, before I finished my explanation, he descended on me, gave me a dirty slap, the beaten was too much. Infact, I regret marrying him and I have decided to go back to my family's place. I have been living in hell fire, I thought I could manage the situation but it has gotten to a stage in which I can't continue", she concluded.

According to reports, some of the residents accused the landlady behind the couple's problem.

A housewife who allegedly maltreated and tormented her 4-year-old foster daughter since birth, has landed into trouble, while the little girl freed from the shackles of bondage.

Little Stephanie Dikeocha's life took this worrisome dimension following her biological mother's death, during her delivery, leading to Jennifer Dikeocha's becoming Stephanie's step-mother.

It was gathered that the step mother traumatized the little girl to the extent that she always liked to be away from home.

According to reports, Stephanie who is a pupil of Royal Peters International Academy, Mowe in Ogun State, always changes her mood at the close of school everyday, a development her class teacher noticed as abnormal, as she formed the habit of crying profusely and would not want to go home.

Providence, however, worked in the little girl's favour when she got to school on Friday, November 9, 2018, and her observant class teacher noticed that she was not looking fine. The teacher decided to give her a warm and affectionate embrace, aimed at making her feel homely, as well as feel her body temperature.

That was the genesis of Jennifer's trouble, as Stephanie's teacher was shocked on noticing the lacerations all over the girl's body

Disclosing this ugly incident to Crimepuzzle in a press statement, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said: "The arrest of the wicked step mother was as a result of complaints lodged at Mowe Police Station by the class teacher of the pupil, who brought the little girl to the station and showed the police various bodily injuries allegedly inflicted on her by the said step - mother .

"On the strength of the report, the DPO of Mowe Division, CSP Francis Ebhuoma, detailed some detectives to follow the girl to their house, where the wicked step-mother was promptly arrested', Oyeyemi stated.

According to the Police spokesman, "The Abia state-born suspect narrated to the police how she took up Stephanie as a child which was occasioned by her mother's death after giving birth to her, saying she got married to the girl's father in 2016. She could not give reasons for her wicked act to the innocent girl".

The leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim El Zakzaky and his wife, have arrived Kaduna State High Court which will today rule on the bail application filed by their counsel.

The Shiite leader is facing trial over allegations of culpable homicide, unlawful assembly, and disruption of public peace, among other charges. 

El-Zakzaky and his wife were first arraigned on May 15, 2018, following their arrest in Zaria, in December 2015.

When the matter came up for hearing on October 4, 2018, the presiding judge, Justice Gideon Kurada adjourned his ruling on their bail application to November 7, 2018 due to the absence of the IMN leader and his wife in court as a result of  the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to the state on that date.

The judge however fixed today for the ruling following the written application filed by El-Zakzaky’s counsel during the last sitting on August 2, 2018.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna State Police Command has restricted movement in Kaduna metropolis over the trial today.

The police warned that the ban on all forms of demonstration or processions is still in full force and called on Kaduna residents to beware of their movement.

Just recently, it was reported that a Germany based Nigerian man, Eddy Murphy Idahosa, was banished from Edo state over a video he posted on Facebook a while ago attacking and criticising the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II.

In the video posted by Murphy, he was seen blaming the Oba of Benin for the high rate of trafficking among girls in the Benin kingdom.

He returned home recently and was taken to the Oba’s palace where he was declared an enemy of the Oba and then banished from the kingdom.

The incident which was trailed by mixed reactions from Benin people - drew sympathy for Murphy Idahosa with some condemning the banishment in this modern age while some argued that the accused deserved what he got because he has been stepping on the toes of personalities in the kingdom.

Murphy Idahosa accused one Bob Isua's wife for allegedly sleeping with her step son about a year ago which sparked outrage from Benin residents at that time - with many cursing him (Murphy) over the allegation.

The woman herself didn't take the case lightly as she swore for him with charms and fetish items in public before the latest incident of his banishment.

Two suspected thieves got more than they bargained for after they were nabbed by angry residents in Benin city, Edo state. 

It was gathered that the suspects had been terrorising the residents of Sakponba road in Benin area, by stealing from market women and snatching phones at night before their capture. 

According to reports, the young men met their Waterloo after going for a robbery operation on Sunday night where they allegedly stole an iPhone 6 and a laptop.

The suspects were nabbed by youths of the area on Monday morning (yesterday) as they descended on them and beat them mercilessly.

In the course of the jungle justice, one of them was lynched to death before the police arrived. .

The Prince of Wales and heir to the British throne, Charles and his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, have arrived in Abuja. The royals were welcomed by dignitaries at the airport as Prince Charles inspected the Guard of Honor. 

Upon arrival, the Prince of Wales and his wife will be welcomed by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa.

During their visit to Nigeria, the Royal Highnesses will undertake a series of engagements in Abuja and Lagos.

They will meet with some of Nigeria’s dynamic youth as well as traditional leaders, the business community, the armed forces, and people from the arts, fashion and charitable sector.

The visit will highlight key themes in both nations’ relationship, including the importance of Commonwealth ties, youth opportunity, business and entrepreneurship, educating of women and girls, and defence co-operation, among other issues.

This is the third time the Prince of Wales will be visiting the country, his previous visits were in 1990, 1999 and 2006, while it will be the Duchess of Cornwall’s first visit to Nigeria.

A journalist and staff of Voice Of Nigeria (VON) has recounted her horrifying experience after surviving a close shave with death during the Kaduna crises few weeks back which claimed more than 50 lives with properties worth millions destroyed.

Temitope Mustapha, was travelling through Kaduna to Kano to cover the event on Media Dialogue on Equity for the Girl Child Education before being caught in the crisis. 

She took to social media to share her story. Read the lengthy piece below; 

Passing through Kaduna State on Sunday 21st of October 2018, to connect to Kano State for a two day Media Dialogue on Equity for the Girl Child Education , I never thought would end up bloody for me..

About 4:35pm ,Two times this gentleman who was in the same car with me woke me up and said "Madam stay awake" ,I replied him, see i had written stories previous nights before I embarked on this journey. Again this man woke me up and said "madam pls stay awake".

Then I opened my sleepy eyes very wide and clearly I saw Military officers seated on their vehicles. Suddenly, a fellow passenger like me said " Madam we have been making calls to know the safest road" & I said you mean this road is safe for us all? They all answered Yes. Suddenly at Kaduna By- Pass,I saw a trailer blocking the road and traffic was building up and the driver of the same car I boarded( public transport of ofcourse) beckoned on one of the youths holding a fibre of an iron, of course he responded in Hausa language & another passenger translated this to me that he wanted to find another route out of By- Pass.

Suddenly, a number of the young men sighted me in the car & my driver started pleading with them, telling them " Da Allah ki ya kuri" ,I was the only female in the car and extremely unusual of me I wore what you saw in the pictures above with an headtie ( turban)that I had on me.

RACE OF MY LIFE

The young men best described as Miscreants were more than fifteen,they started hitting the side of the car I was, Actually my head was blank, I couldn't say one word of prayer, I didn't panic and I was ready to run the race of my life.

Immediately my fellow passengers took to their heels from the front door and the left door side , then I summoned courage opened the right side door which was already confronted by men holding all manner of irons and stones. My turban ( headtie) fell off , And I started running towards an uncompleted building immediately I realised I could be finished in the building, With heavy stones landing on my back and long metallic objects hitting my body from people running after me ,I turned an thought of crossing the Gutters on Kaduna by - Pass.

O Yes I fell down with the heaviness & marathon of stones landing on my body then I watched myself being LYNCHED with all manners of iron rods, sticks and i was being stonned at the same time.

Nobody dared stopped these youths from stonning me neither was I rescued from their hands.

I actually saw one of them videoing what they were doing to me & I sincerely was running within me to catch up with breathe. Death is Painful.

I suddenly didn't not feel the hitting of the irons on my body again & the stones were no longer making sounds to me. I was hearing ,Jesus is Lord inside my Head clearly as if with a mega phone, I was seeing my mother's,my Son & my daughter's faces all at thesame time & some how I kept hearing in my head that all they were doing was not up to Labour Pains.

I crawled inside the Gutters ,of course I was already almost inside the Gutters by by-Pass. I felt peace in my body & I found solace inside the Gutters. I saw these youths gathered on the other side ,I blurringly saw a crowd of men watching me , And I saw clearly one of them carrying a stone with his two hands right over me, I raised up one hand pleading to him& making gestures appealing. That was the last I saw.

HEAVY SLEEP OVER POWERED ME

Heavy & Deep Sleep came over me inside the Gutters,the thing overpowered me & I watched my hand threw away, from this moment I didn't know what happened again ,I cannot tell what,where & anything about me again. I don't know what switched me off. I was completely switched off.

Till I woke up at AMRULLAH Hospital (also along Kaduna by-Pass )on a stretcher , I started talking telling them I am a Journalist with Voice of Nigeria and I was only passing by Kaduna State to attend a Media Dialogue in Kano State. I attempted standing from the stretcher my body didn't respond. I was asked for phone numbers , Heaven helped me to remember my younger sister's number & the father of my children's number.

AMRULLAH Hospital ...
Totally to my rescue, about six drips including flagyl & All manners were set into my system. I was revived, Head suturing were done, the young Muslim doctor was crying while suturing my head, hospital attendants were cleaning stretcher stained with my blood. Everybody was put on guard. The Miscreants traced me to the hospital & demanded that the lady brought in should be released by the hospital to be killed. This Muslim hospital saved me,hidded me away from them & I realised I was kept in a ward locked with a nurse who was given instructions not to open the ward to anyone she possibly didnt know the voice. Only the Hospital Manager, the doctor on duty & two nurses were given access to where I was.

2nd Day

I asked the only face I saw when I woke up from the "deep sleep", I said Pls who brought me. He looked at me with tears filled in his eyes & said A JTF Member brought you life-less. He said "we rejected you because you were not breathing and demanded he should not drop your body with us"

The AMRULLAH Hospital Manager said, when we refuse to take you the JTF Man dropped you on our stretcher & said you could come back that we should try.

AMRULLAH Hospital treated me & stabilised me. Then A thousand plus calls came on the Hospital Managers' Phone,they said My Family Members were dead alive & Colleagues had sleepless night.

I do have a lot to say about Kaduna State October 2018 crises. While recuperating & bn on bed rest I think when my Nurse ( My mum's eyes ) are few times away from me) I think about being carried from the Gutters by an Unknown Possibly Muslim JTF Member, I think about AMRULLAH Hospital ( a complete Muslim hospital who God used to stabilised me after coming out of deep sleep & yet not delivering me into the hands of the Hot Headed Miscreants, I think about the safety of Nigerian road users TRAVELLERS in the midst of CRISES across Nigeria

So many thoughts feeling my sutured head but I sure must put all these thoughts down...

That I am Alive alone for now ,I am grateful to God Almighty.

The police has reportedly arrested hundreds of members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) otherwise known as Shiite Muslims who clashed with security operatives in Abuja earlier today.

According to reports, the suspects were arrested with petrol bombs and illicit drugs after the heated clash in Wuse district in the Federal Capital Territory. 

The protesters reportedly set some police vehicles on fire during the clash as the security agents fired bullets and teargas at them. 

The IMN members are protesting the continued detention of their leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

This is the third day of the ongoing clash between security operatives and the Shiite members in Abuja.

Due to the clashes, there has been heavy security presence in all the major entry points into the city, in an attempt to curb anarchy and loss of lives.

The Nigerian Army has received a shipment of various ammunition to further enhance its operational capabilities and combat efficiency. The army took to social media to share pictures of the ammunition. 

Some months ago, the Nigerian Army took delivery of different calibres of ammunition to boost the fight against terrorism and other forms of criminality across the country.

The consignment was received by Olufemi Akinjobi, the Chairman of the Ammunition Reception Committee at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Mr Akinjobi also said the committee took delivery of spare parts for operational vehicles.

He said the ammunition received included rockets, bullets and projectiles, but declined to mention the originating country or countries they came from.

A young lady who just finished her mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), made name for her self where she served in Cross River state. 

The young lady named Promise Oberiko, made her presence felt during her one-year service in Ogoja area, garnering every available awards, at the end of her service year.

Her most impressive act of humanity was shuttling between Ogoja and Calabar, last month, to bring the plight of the "roaming lunatic family of 5" to the attention of the public and appropriate authorities.

The mentally unstable family, Mr Ben, his wife and three kids are now receiving medical care and undergoing rehabilitation at the Federal Psychiatric Hospital in Calabar, all thanks to the help from the young lady.

Progress Oberiko, had taken to her Facebook page to share the story of the inseparable family of 5 battling mental illness in Ogoja, Cross River State.

According to Oberiko, she always wondered why a whole family would be plagued with insanity. But one of the interesting things she noticed about them was their effective skills of communication.

There is palpable tension in Abuja as members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) and the Army clashed again in parts of the Federal Capital Territory.

This is the third day of the ongoing clash between security operatives and the Shiite members in Abuja.

Yesterday’s clash began with the convergence of the Shiites at the nation’s capital for the annual Arbaeen symbolic trek, which also served as cover for a protest march against the continued detention of their spiritual leader by the federal authorities.

Violent scenes marred the rituals, officially due to end today as some of the sect members were killed in the confrontation with the Army in the Maraba- Nyanya metropolis of Abuja.

When the crisis first unfolded on Saturday, troops from the Army Headquarters Garrison at Zuba, Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, reportedly gunned down six followers of the sect. The Army, however, claimed responsibility for three deaths.
