Soldiers operating in an internal security operation nick named Operation Burst engaged in a shoot out with a gang of 6 Armed Robbers in Iwo area of Ibadan, Oyo State. Sequel to a distress call from residents of the area in the early hours of today, troops of Operation Burst exchange fire in a shoot out with the robbers.

During the exchange of fire 2 robbers were killed, 3 escaped, while 1 was captured with bullet wounds.

4 locally made pistols, a laptop and 9 mobile phones among other items were recovered. Efforts are on to track down the escapee robbers.

Some days ago, it was reported that a young student of Okpe grammar school in Sapele area of Delta state – went missing and was not seen for some days after she reportedly left school with a guy named Abraham who picked her up in a Toyota Camry.

The two vanished into thin air and had been declared missing - after throwing the girl's family into panic.

Fresh and confirmed reports have it that the young man, Abraham has been arrested and is currently cooling off his heels at Sapele Main Station.

The young girl also has reunited with her family as details of how they were found is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

National Helm spoke with the girl's father who didn't reveal how and why the daughter absconded with the young man.

Violence broke out on Sunday in the Sabo area of Akure, the Ondo State capital, as Yoruba engaged in a free-for-all with some members of the Hausa community, leading to many people being injured. It was gathered that the fight involved some followers of a masquerader in Akure who entered the Sabo area, where most of the Hausa resided.

According to reports, the followers of the masquerader passed through the Old Garage area of Akure where some Hausas sold groceries.

The followers were alleged to have attempted to disrupt the business of the Hausa traders which was resisted by the latter, leading to a clash.

Vehicles and motorcycles were burnt, while some houses were torched.

Also, men of the state police command and the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, were reportedly deployed in the scene to forestall further breakdown of law and order.

The police has arrested six suspects for invading the National Assembly and stealing the Senate mace at Wednesday's plenary. Charms and other items were recovered from the thugs. A top police officer confirmed this to TVC News with pictures as evidence of the arrest.

He said the suspects would soon be charged to court.

Meanwhile, the police have recovered the senate’s stolen mace at a flyover before the Abuja city gate.Aremu Adeniran, deputy force public relations officer force headquarters, said a “patriotic passerby” saw the mace and alerted the police.

Ovie Omo-Agege, suspended Delta senator, allegedly led unidentified persons to the upper legislative chamber to seize the mace on Wednesday.

After the incident and the ensuing uproar, the senator was taken into police custody but was later released.

The police in a statement explained how the mace was recovered and said that “a discreet investigation” into the matter was ongoing.

The stolen mace taken from the Senate Chamber has just been returned to the National Assembly by the police.

Clerk of the National Assembly, Sani Omolori received the Mace from the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of operations at the Force Headquarters, DIG Habila Joshak alongside the Divisional Police Officer of the National Assembly, Sulu Gambari.

The mace was later taken to the office of the Clerk of the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, six suspects have been arrested by the police for stealing the Mace.

The suspects would soon be charged to court after investigations are concluded.

Stainless, a dreaded gang leader and successor to the slain most wanted Ukanafun terrorist in Akwa Ibom state, Iso Akpafid, has been killed by security agents. The dreaded cult leader was killed in gun battle with police operatives. The police also recovered guns, bullets and other dangerous weapons from arrested cultists.

Awka Ibom Police Commissioner, Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi paraded the suspects in front of newsmen moments ago.

The notorious killer, one Akaninyene better known by his nickname “Iso-akpa’fid”, who hailed from Ikot Ibekwe in Ukanafun Local Government Area, got more than he bargained for, as he was not only killed by battle ready officers but his corpse was driven in a police van around the area while inhabitants took pictures of the “fallen hero” on January 15.

It is however alleged that his father and mother died years ago as a result of their son’s nefarious life.

“Iso-akpa’fid”, had been on the wanted list by law enforcement agencies for his alleged involvement in killings, maiming, kidnapping and raping of women.

A four-year-old boy has been given a reason to smile again after undergoing surgery to correct his 'windswept' legs. According to reports, the boy's mother made a promise to her little boy, that no matter what it took she would fix his legs.

After a long journey through orthopedic surgery and physiotherapy, the young boy is good to go as he was seen in an elated mood with his mother.

A tech entrepreneur is currently cooling his heels at the Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi area of Lagos after his arrest. The suspect identified as Charles Okoronkwo was arrested for allegedly defrauding a partner of N20 million naira.

According to Euphemia Udanoh, a human rights activist and blogger who shared the news, Charles Okoronkwo went in into hiding after the scam and changed all his contacts in order not to get caught. He was arrested after weeks of manhunt.

The dangerous effect of drinking and driving can't be over-emphasized. A ghastly motor accident happened this morning at Jakande first gate in Lekki phase 2 Lagos. According to an online report, the accident was caused by some guys said to be 'Yahoo boys' as they were coming from a night club totally drunk.

The Honda Pilot vehicle which was being driven was damaged as it crushed everything along its path including electric poles and the gate following the accident.

It was gathered that a woman was injured in the process but no life was lost.

The shocking accident is said to have caused a traffic gridlock in the area as the authorities have arrived the scene to control the incident.

The Kano State Police Command is displeased to inform the general public of an ugly incident which occurred yesterday, Monday 16th April, 2018 along Sabon Titi Madobi Road, Kano, where an armed gang of five men in a Motor vehicle ambushed and opened fire on a motor vehicle conveying the staff of Dantata & Sawoe Construction Company going to a construction site.

The attackers killed one Police Sergeant attached to Special Protection Unit (SPU) on Escort duty and abducted Mr. Michael Cremza, a German Nationale working with the Company.

The Police Commissioner CP Rabiu Yusuf has since deployed powerful team of operatives and detectives to cordon the axis with a view to arresting the culprits and rescue the victim.

Manhunt of the abductors is ongoing.

According to reports, hell broke loose yesterday after Abia Warriors fans turned football to war as they threatened and beaten officials after the 1-1 game against Katsina United in Umuahia.

Sports journalist, Niyi Busari, revealed how Katsina United Cameraman Bashir was also beaten black-blue.

His camera was seized and the tape in the camera was removed.

This is really sad. It was a black Sunday in Isinweke Ihitte/Uboma local government area of Imo state after a pregnant woman identified as Oluchi was killed in a fatal car accident. According to reports, she was killed on the spot following the ghastly accident as her corpse was deposited at a mortuary yesterday night. May her soul rest in peace.

Pictures of a young girl and her malformed baby have been trending online due to obvious reason. According to a Facebook user who shared the photos and didn't disclose where it happened, the girl gave birth to a ''monster'' as a question was asked what could have caused such deformity.

While some think the birth has to do with something spiritual, others have argued online that this is a medical condition.

A Facebook user, Smart Believe wrote; The baby is not a monster... it's a hereditary deficiency passed down by generational parents who both have the blood cell to trigger this birth...its an over growth of skin,like excess skin growth where a new skin generates always. It's difficult to handle such children cuz they are prone to infection if not properly taken care of...

Nigerian internet users have shared their opinion concerning the unusual birth and also the new mother who looks so young.
