The DPO of “B” Division, Mr Aniettie Eyoh of the Delta State Police Command allegedly shot one Mr Segun Awodeyi and Efe Peter wrongly along Cemetery Road, Warri, Warri South West Local Government Council Area of Delta State, Nigeria on the 24th of April 2018.

According to the gunshot victims, Mr Eyoh alongside with Mr Emeka of the Warri Area Command office and Mr Prince of the “A” Division shot at them while on motion at about 7:45pm.

Mr Segun Awodeyi the driver of the Toyota Camry popularly called spider alleged that Mr Eyoh, DPO of “B” Division together with one Mr Emeka and Mr Prince shot at his head, twice on his buttocks, shot at friend’s head and abandoned them in the pool of their own blood.

He said Mr Aniettie Eyoh later submitted that they (gunshots victims) were wrongly shot( mistaken identity)

Segun Awodeyi narrateed his ordeal in an exclusive interview with Upng.Co. Read below

“I was driving home from a meeting with two of my friends, Efe Peters and Victor Torubiri along Cemetery Road, Warri, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, when suddenly I heard repeated gunshots and I thought we were caught up with armed robbers. Just as i was wondering what was happening, I felt a gun shot on my head!!!. Blood immediately started gushing out of my head.

My friend, Efe Peters who was on the passengers seat was equally shot on his head. Victor was not shot because he laid on the floor of the back seat. While I was screaming, I lifted my head up and I saw the patrol Van of “B” Division of the Delta State Police Command of the Nigeria Police Force, Warri, Delta State: feeling relieved, at least sure of further safety, I immediately ran towards the van as I also saw the DPO whom I recognised but instead of getting the safety that I assumed, the DPO pointed a gun at me, aiming to shoot my chest and i immediately turned and the bullet hit my buttock.

In my pool of blood, I started shouting “DPO, na me Segun ooo, you no know me again?? You won kill me,? He ordered me to lie on the floor which I did. He placed his leg on my chest, and beckoned on one man to come and identify me but the man declined. It was then, I recognised two other police officers, Mr. Emeka of Warri Area Command and Mr Prince of ” A” Division and I started shouting “Emeka, na me your friend oo, Emeka ,you won kill me? You no know me Segun your friend?

It was at this point that Emeka moved closer to recognise me after which he screamed and immediately beckoned on the DPO and the three (DPO, Emeka and Prince) of them went to the back of my car to discuss. It was while they were still discussing, leaving i my friend Efe Peter’s socked in our own pool of blood that the patrol van of “A” division coincidentally drove to the scene and on recognising me, they immediately rushed us to Hospital.

Meanwhile, at this time, they have shot my car severally and even my fuel tank was burst open with bullets”. Segun Continued ” some minutes after we got to the hospital, Prince and Emeka, the two police officers that joined the “B” Division to carry out the act came to the hospital to find out if we are still alive. On hearing that we are still alive, the DPO (Mr Eyoh) requested that the Doctor in charge should administer treatment on us and promised to foot the bill”. .

Mr Awodeyi lamented that the DPO didn’t carried out investigations before shooting at them. “We were not stopped by the police men, we were not searched, we were not interrogated, we were not arrested, all we can remember is the repeated gun shot at us”.

Still explaining, Segun disclosed that information got to them later that it was one Mr Ogbe who informed the police that they (Segun and Efe Peters were alleged kidnappers that kidnapped the wife of one Mr Emiko in a Toyota Camry car, the type of his (Segun) Apparently, few days to the night of the incident, the wife of one Mr Emiko was kidnapped in same colour and model of the Toyota Camry popularly called spider.

On spotting the car, Mr Ogbe called on the ” B”Division DPO to informed him that the persons that kidnapper Emiko’s wife and the car is packed at Cemetery Road. Mr Awodeyi alleged that the DPO and His men shot at them severally without an arrest and proper investigation.

As at the time of filling in this report, 3rd May 2018″ Segun Awodeyi and Efe Peters are still receiving treatment in the hospital.

The Hospital bill is allegedly being footed by the “B” Division DPO through the gunshot victims claimed that the DPO has not visited them at the hospital since the incident occurred.

The ever vigilant men of the Nigerian army have intercepted a suicide bomber who was planning to wreck havoc in Adamawa state. The young suspect was arrested by soldiers while trying to infiltrate a village in order to carry out his mission. A suicide vest was seen in his possession as he was taken into custody.

This is coming a day after suicide bombers killed more than 60 people at a mosque and a market in Adamawa state in a twin attack bearing the hallmarks of Boko Haram.

The blasts, said to have been carried out by young boys, happened on Tuesday in Mubi, some 200 kilometres (125 miles) from the Adamawa state capital, Yola.

An 11-year-old girl who was being maltreated by her guardian in Asaba, Delta state capital, has been rescued. The girl who was seen with injuries all over her body especially her hands after several beatings and torture by the woman she lived with - was rescued by Due Process Advocates (DPA) Warri, Delta Chapter led by Edafe Joshua.

A well meaning Nigerian who saw bruises on the girl's body raised an alarm before steps were taken to reunite her with her family. The advocate said;

"The girl in this picture was passing by my shop Friday last week and i noticed that she has series of injuries on her head and was look very malnourished. I beckoned on her to come and i asked her what happened to her head and she started crying.

"I equally noticed several other injuries all over her body especially her hands. i asked her who she was staying with and she said her aunty.

"I asked her whether her aunty maltreats her and she said yes and she want to go back to her parents in Warri but doesn't know how to go about it. On futher inquiries, I discovered that this aunty of hers is not married and beats her over nothing and equally starve her.

"My first move was to locate the parents of the girl, whom she said live in Warri. But she could not give a coherence address of where her parents live in Warri. The description she gave was onl. "Enter keke to Airport road- enter another keke to God's grace church - enter a place fenced with plank and ask of Deborah's parents." She gave her mother's name as Rebecca and her father's name as Isaac.

"Upon further interview of the girl, she said that she is tired of staying with the woman and would prefer to die because of the ill treatment and abuse from the said madam. She said she tried to commit suicide and drank hypo but on realizing what she had done, she quickly took palm oil to neutralize it."

The girl's poor parents who gave her out as a maid - were later located in Warri as the girl was reunited with her family.

According to reports, an accident occurred yesterday which left victims injured in Akwa Ibom State. The accident involving an SUV was reported to have happened after Fulani herdsmen allegedly abandoned their cows in the early hours of Sunday to wander into the road thus causing mayhem Uyo-Ikot Ekene Highway of Akwa Ibom state.

Other motorists gathered in the area to launch a manhunt for the roaming cows.

Thugs, armed with machete and other guns on Sunday disrupted a meeting convened by Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi with members of the All Progressives Congress from Kaduna Central Senatorial District at NUT Endwell Hotel.

The meeting attended by representatives from each of the local governments and the district was at being rounded up when some thugs, numbering about ten stormed the venue, breaking car windshields before policemen shot into the air to disperse them.

But party faithfuls who had converged on the conference hall of the hotel scampered for safety and the meeting came to an abrupt end.

Five persons sustained injuries and were moved to Barau Dikko hospital before the police quickly moved in to disperse the thugs.

Senator Hunkuyi had last week met with party faithfuls from the Kaduna south senatorial district in Kafanchan where he promised to reinstate teachers and district heads sacked by the Kaduna state government.

Former Edo State People Democratic Party PDP Women Leader, Mrs. Stella Evbuoman landed in a hospital after being brutalized by some thugs at the Airport on Friday. The attack happened while the Senator representing Edo South Senatorial District of the State, Matthew Urhoghide, PDP, was held hostage inside the VIP lounge of the airport for over two hours by youths after his arrival from Abuja.

According to reports, APC youths allegedly tried to attack him following his motion calling for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Though PDP youths equally stormed the airport but they were chased away by the waiting APC youths.

Urhoghide, who got wind of the situation allegedly hid himself at the VIP lounge.However, when Governor Godwin Obaseki arrived at the airport, Urhoghide made efforts to escape with the governor’s entourage but with the governor at the front of the VIP lounge, the APC youths pounced at him, removing his cap and hiting him with it.

The Senator returned to the lounge while Governor Obaseki entered his vehicle and zoomed off.

However, the PDP leaders who were at the airport to honour him with a red carpet reception with the Edo cultural troupe members fled for their dear lives on sighting the youths.

A married woman is in dilemma as her ex-boyfriend is reportedly trying to confront her over her son whom he is allegedly claiming to be his. Earlier today, President Muhammadu Buhari arrived Bauchi State on a two-day state working visit. An 84-year-old soldier identified as Malam Ali Maiggo, who joined president Muhammadu Buhari during his military service in 1967 - were among supporters who came to see the country's number one citizen at Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi.

Malam Ali said he has been wishing for the president to visit Bauchi state as he prayed just to see him one more time before his death.

Another old soldier who claimed to have served under Buhari during his military days - was also at the venue with his army outfit as they both wanted to meet the president.

They were denied access to the president due to the tight security around him but their numbers were collected with promise to reach out to the chief commander.

According to reports, there is commotion in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital as soldiers are currently locked down in a gun battle with Boko Haram terrorist. Residents gripped with fear were seen leaving the area along with their families as the battle continues.

The insurgents reportedly made their way through a cashew plantation to the Jiddari Polo area of the state.

Residents are reported to be in a panic and are fleeing the area for safety.

Also, heavy gunshots around Giwa Barracks were heard.

Reports, however, say that the terrorists attacked from three fronts; Aliramti Jiddari-Polo, Giwa Barracks & Molai area.

The Air Force is currently conducting air patrol around the metropolis while residents are trapped in the traffic caused by the pandemonium which is quite chaotic.

The native doctor who took to social media to share his opinion - said that the best way to rule a country like Nigeria is by using spiritual powers so if anyone loots and tries to run away from the country, the oracle will kill his family.

Some Nigerians have argued that using the traditional way is the ''only'' way to reduce corruption in Nigeria because shrine is the only office that politicians are really afraid off.

It would be difficult for public office holders to siphon public money or abuse their office if they are sworn in with their deity, like ‘Ofo’ in Igbo or ‘Ogun’ in Yoruba.

The 32-year-old man identified as Augustine Otuokwa Ogar, who became an online sensation after constructing a 200 Mega Watts mini Hydroelectric power plant that generates electricity for the plant site and its surrounding early this year - is back again with another cool invention.

The graduate of Electronic and Computer Technology, University of Calabar (UNICAL), who comes and from Wula village, Eastern Boki in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State, has constructed a Hydroelectric power machine that uses a bucket of water to run using locally sourced materials...

The talented man explained his research on Hydroelectricity to Calabar Reporters as he revealed that the system generate up to 20 watts (20W) of power that powers the injector pump and some phones and it operates when the top tank is filled with a bucket of water.

He said, “The device has two wooden tank (the up and down tank) for collection of water, a pen stock to control water out of the upper tank to the turbine, the turbine that convert the potential energy of water into mechanical energy that rotate the alternator through the pulley system, the alternator that generates power and lastly a riding machine injector pump motor which pump back water from the down tank to the upper tank and the process continues”.

Explaining how it works, Ogar said, “A bucket of water if emptied in the tank and water is allowed to flow and hit, turn the turbine which rotate the alternator, then electricity is generated which then energizes a small pumping machine that pump back the water into the first tank then process continues. The system carries two tanks, up and down tank. I decided not to show everything here for technical reasons

“It operates without a repulsive force or zero back electromotive force (emf). I invented it to be used for practical demonstration on hydroelectricity. It generates up to 20 watt during operation but I stepped down the power to power one blinking LED for demonstration and technical reasons.

“The system generate up to 20 watt of power that Powers the injector pump and some phones and it operates when the top tank is filled with a bucket of water and it’s a continues system. Although, not every part of the system is shown here for technical reasons because it’s going to be a huge technology in the nearest future.

“It shouldn’t be a surprise to any one that water contains both potential and kinetic energy and the law energy that it can be converted from one form to the other. On like mechanical generators, this device has two major sections also, the turbine that does the conversion of the potential energy of the River into motion serves as the mechanical part of the device while the alternator which convert this mechanical energy into electricity, is the electrical part of the device.

“The river that carries both the kinetic and potential energy is the fuel or the power house of the device. This is an era of renewable energy, can we join hands together to really developed this local innovation to solve the problem of power outage in Rural and Urban areas? And also to combat the challenges of global warming? What about training of youths on hydroelectricity by establishing renewable energy? Building training centers across the country and also creating job opportunities. God bless Nigeria”, Ogar concluded.

Lagos State Police have arrested 5 armed robbery gangs disturbing residents of state and recovered many locally made cut to size guns and cartridges from the gangs.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Imohimi Edgal disclosed this today while parading the suspects before the journalists at the Command's Headquarter.

Also arrested was Taiwo Oyelabi, 50, living in Community Road, Badore, Iba, for sexually abusing and impregnating his daughter. 21.

The Command equally recovered fake foreign currencies from one Chukwu Emeka Okafor and Oyemuchi Nwoko. The suspects confessed they belong to a 419 syndicated headed by one Kapo Alhaji in Mushin.
