Chiadikobi Ezeibekwe, a mathematics teacher at a secondary school in Ekwulobia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, shock his community and the country at large after marrying his 17-year-old biological sister, Chibuzor Ezeibekwe.

The marriage was said to have been heavily criticized by the villagers and also the traditional rulers.

Due to that effect, the 25-year-old man underwent spiritual cleansing weeks after he renounced the controversial marriage.

The event was held on Saturday, March 24th, as the entire family of Lewis Ezeibekwe, underwent a spiritual cleansing conducted by the Parish Priest of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ekwulobia, Rev. Fr. Ignatius Onwuatuegwu.

According to reports, Chiadikobi Ezeibekwe had claimed he married his sister because it was a clear instruction from God.

“We didn’t just jump into this marriage thing because we can do it, God showed it to me and not only me, it was shown to other people in this family. God asked me to marry my sister yes, and I didn’t propose to my sister.

Sometimes you may have vision, you just keep it, and in the process she got the same vision and spoke out because if she had not had the vision, I would not have been able to speak about it.

“I have tried to feel ashamed, guilty or sober since this thing happened, but no way. I feel fine and at home. I have asked God to make me feel bad and guilty if I have done evil, but I am not feeling any of such,” he had earlier said.

During the cleansing, eight members of the Ezeibekwe family knelt down before the traditional ruler, traditional prime minister and elders of the community and apologised to the entire Agba Ekwulobia community.

Chiadikaobi also asked for forgiveness from the community for marrying his sister.

After the cleansing rites, seven girls said to be virgins, clad in white dresses, used seven palm frond branches to sweep the Ezeibekwe compound.

A Nigerian man has got himself trending online after treating his parents to an all expense paid trip abroad. According to twitter user (@adewus4real), he had been dreaming of spoiling his parents with the trip abroad since he was 15 years old.

The man shared pictures of his parents in a happy mood as they visited Barcelona and Mallorca in Spain during their trip.

The excited man took to Twitter to write;

Since I was 15, I dreamt of being able to send my parents on an all expense paid trip.This week they took Barcelona & Mallorca.I thank God for grace but for giving me the best parents a man can have. I just wish they took better pictures #Family #FridayFeeling...

This is not the best of times for a man who was forced to exhume the remains of his late parents in Imo state. According to reports, the man had to exhume the remains of his late father and mother buried years ago - due to the expansion of a highway by Imo State Government along Wheathral Road in Owerri as he believed that the road expansion may affect their graves..

The remains were exhumed over night in order to meet up with the deadline given by the authorities.

Mr. Ugochukwu Ezeji, an Owerri indigene wrote:

"Even the dead cannot rest in peace under Rochas administration. My friend exhumed his parents remains to make way for nonsense road expansion along whethral road. God is watching. Feeling very sad."

According to mulitple online reports, angry youths of Narayi community located in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state - set a Cherubim and Seraphim church on fire and almost killed the pastor yesterday. Their action reportedly arose after the pastor of the church contracted a young man to carry out a construction task in a river and he died in the process.

The death of the young man generated the feeling that he was used for ritual by the pastor.

In the process of accusing the pastor of killing the deceased, the church was set on fire.

Report also has it that a police post was also set on fire by the enraged youths in the community.

A group of suspected cultists allegedly attacked the Divisional headquarter of the Nigeria Police Force in Oporoma, the headquarters of the Southern Ijaw Local Government area of Bayelsa state and set the station ablaze. It was revealed that the attack on the police station was carried out after a suspected cultist involved in the rescue mission of another cult member from the police was shot dead.

According to Arch convener of a Non Governmental Organization, Patriotism Advancement and Community Orientation Network (PACON), Comrade Aluzu Ebikebuna Augustine, the incident threw the community into pandemonium.

The Bayelsa State Police Command, in a preliminary report confirming the incident and signed by the spokesman, DSP Asinim Butswat, “report indicate that a suspected cultist who was on Police wanted list for various heinous crimes such as; Kidnapping, sea robbery, armed robbery, and acts of pipeline vandalism, was arrested and detained at the Oporoma Police Division, Southern Ijaw LGA, preparatory to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Intelligence Department (SCIID), Yenagoa”.

“The suspect on 21 March, 2018, attempted to escape from lawful custody and was shot by the Police officer on duty. Other members of the suspect cult group mobilized and attacked officers on duty at the Police Division and set it ablaze. Additional Policemen were deployed to restore normalcy in the community”.

“There seems to be emergence of cases cultism in Bayelsa State, we call on members of the public to volunteer useful information and to assist the police in curbing the ugly trend of cultism among our teeming youths”.

It has been alleged that a 9-year-old girl was consistently abused by an official of the Federal Road Safety Corp in Benue state. According to an online report, the FRSC official was caught unclad in the car on top of the young girl. After the act was exposed to the girl's father, he took the child to the hospital and had necessary tests run on her which confirmed that the child had been raped.

I had a chat with Mr. A. The father of the 9year old girl who was been consistently abused by a mature man who is a staff of the Federal Road Safety Corp. The man opened up for the first time and told me exactly what happened. And efforts he has made so far.

He said on the 25th of Feb. This year at about 7pm. He had come back from a trip and was about taking a bath. When his neighbor Mrs. Charles Ali, walked in with one Miss C. (a groundnut hawker) Mrs. Charles walked into the compound and pointed at Mr. A, the victims father, and said "this is the girl's father"

At this point, Mr. Ali also came in and Mrs Ali told Mr. A that Miss C said she caught Mr. Ali naked in the car on top of the victim.

Mrs Ali was telling her husband, Mr. Ali that she had repeatedly warned him but he didn't listen and now he has been caught.

Mr. Ali, attempted to deny the allegation but Little Miss C (the groundnut hawker) kept insisting; "You did it, I saw you"
A neighbour, Mr. Moses Terngu came in at this point and told the father of the victim in Tiv, that he intended leaving the scene but his conscience won't free him. He told him that he had seen Mr. Ali, begging Miss C not to let people hear what has happened. He said Mr. Ali even assumed the little girl was Tiv like Mr. Moses and said "beg her not to let the matter go out, she is your tribe girl" He knew from then that something was wrong. A man will not beg one to keep a thing secret except he is guilty.

The father of the victim asked Mr. Moses to repeat what he had just told him in English so that the neighbors who had gathered who weren't Tiv would also hear it and he did.

He told them how he saw Little Miss C. And Mr. Ali arguing for a long time. Mr Ali was denying and begging her not reveal what has happened but the little girl braved through. Insisting that she had seen Mr. Ali very well and that he did it.

Mr. Ali later began to apologize, but he wouldn't say what he has done that he was apologizing for. And he even started crying.

Because the father was too shocked and probably too distraught at the time, he asked his neighbor to help talk to the daughter and she confirmed it actually happened.

He took the child to the hospital and had necessary tests run on her and they were released after about a week. The tests also confirmed that the child had been raped.

On the 26th, around 4:47am, Mr. Ali and wife came knocking on their door with their little baby. Mr. A the victim's father told his wife he would record the conversation, he attempted to, but because the culprit was already apprehensive, he spoke in hush tones and the record couldn't come out clearly. But he admitted in his apology that he actually did it and asked to be forgiven.

The father of the child victim reported the matter to the National Human Rights Commission but according to him, he was asked to write a formal complaint and he did, but no action was taken.

Mr. Ali wouldn't stop begging, he even brought his pastor, a pastor of The Glory of his Majesty to plead on his behalf. The pastor pleaded that he should be forgiven, he had done the act but was pleading and so he should be pardoned.

But all these was however after attempts to accuse the wife of conniving with the little miss C to tarnish his image and also his inability to craftily blame it on the devil and evil spirits.

The father again took the matter to NAPTIP but according to him, he was rejected the first time. It was after a contact had been given to him that he went back and a formal statement was taken.

It was found out during the usual questions asked that the act had been going on since the child was 8years old.
Mr Ali was arrested and detained but since the offence is a bailable offence, he has been released on bail. The matter is yet to go to court as investigations are still ongoing.

As at the time I had this interview with the victim's father, he was quite angry and felt frustrated that this evil committed against his child will be allowed to go unpunished.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, 20 March, 2018, arraigned Leeroy Egebe, (alias Amedeo Dante William, Alhassan Davide) before Justice E. A. Obile of the Federal High Court, sitting in Warri, Delta State on an 8-count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of $18,023.96 (Eigteen Thousand, Twenty- Three Hundred Dollars, Ninety- Six Cent.

Egebe's troubles began when one Vivian Varotto-Guigoz, a citizen of Switzerland, petitoned the EFCC alleging that she met one Amedeo William Dante (the defendant) who claimed to be an Italian living in the United Kingdom on a social dating site called “Badoo”.

They became lovers, exchanging emotions and later cash. She alleged that on several occasions, between 12 May and 14 October, 2015, she wired a total sum of CHF 196,701,44 and EUR 15, 957.43 to different individuals in the United Kingdom, Canada and Nigeria at the request of Dante, for sundry reasons which she later discovered to be fraudulent.

The payments were allegedly made in five installments: two into British accounts belonging to Amedeo William Dante and Dittimi Tamara-Finide while three were made into Nigerian accounts belonging to Alhassan Davide and Edin Obaro.

The petitioner also alleged that the defendant was reaching her through some English, Canadian and Nigerian telephone numbers. The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to him. In view of his pleas, the prosecution counsel, M. T. Iko asked the court to fix a date for the commencement of trial. However, counsel to the defendant, K. D Alufe, made an oral application for bail for his client.

He argued that the alleged offences were bailable and that the defendant did not jump an earlier administrative bail by the prosecution..

In his ruling, Justice Obile granted the defendant bail in the sum of N3, 000,000.00 (Three Million Naira), one surety in like sum. The surety must be a public servant in the service of Federal or Delta state government on grade level 12 and above.

The defendant and the surety must depose to an affidavit of means amog other conditions. The matter was adjourned to 10 May, 2018 for trial, while the defendant was remanded in prison custody pending the perfection of his bail conditions.

A fatal accident involving a tipper truck which occurred along a highway in Imo state - left one person dead yesterday. According to reports, moments after the accident - other motorists and passersby rushed to the scene to render help to the victims.

One man was discovered dead inside the truck after being crushed while the driver and conductor were nowhere to be found.

The dead victim was brought out of the vehicle before his corpse was taken to the mortuary.

The question being asked by online users is - how did the driver and the conductor escape the fatal accident ?

Troops of 3 Division Garrison Jos Plateau State arrested 7 suspects and recovered weapons in the clash between Miango community and herdsmen at Rafiki Village few days ago. The troops responded to distress calls to the clash reported by locals.

As troops moved in to settle the dispute, the herdsmen opened fire on troops convoy. 2 soldiers paid the supreme price. 7 suspects were arrested in connection with the clashes.

While conducting search, troops discovered 23 dead bodies at Mararaba Dare shortly before Rafiki Village and many civilians were wounded. 2 other soldiers wounded are receiving medical attention at 3 Division Military Hospital and Medical Services. They are stable.

Weapons recovered include one Ak 47 assault rifle with 26 rounds of 7.62mm special and One locally made single barrel loaded with 15 rounds.

The troops later intensified patrol within the general area to forestall further break down of law and other.

John Chukwuemeka Nwafor who hails from Ogbaku in Mbaitoli Local Council of Imo State - recently celebrated 60 years of active service in the classroom. The teacher has been a primary school teacher for 60 years now, becoming the oldest primary school teacher in the country.

He has taught and still teaches Mathematics and Physical Education, in many schools, both public and private. He taught some of today’s personalities in Nigeria and others sojourning in other countries, including a former Super Eagles player and PSG defender, Godwin Opkara.

As an athlete in the 1960s, winning many trophies, he was nick-named by his fans and admirers as ‘404’, and he equally functioned as games master in many of the schools he has taught.

He said this to mark the great achievement;

What I'm celebrating today is the God's-given privilege to discover my vocation early on and to stay true to it. The blessings I count in this 60 years celebration are as numerous as the faces of over 6,000 children I have had the opportunity to instruct.

Today, when I look back at the reason I chose to dedicate myself to teaching, I feel fulfilled. I am glad I have spent 60 years of my life impacting knowledge, values & true north principles to children who have gone to achieve success in different fields of endeavor.

It's incredible how time flies. It seems like yesterday when I first stepped into the classroom as a teacher on 1st January, 1958. 1 was only 18.

Looking back, I can say with all gratitude to God, it's been 60 years of staying true to my calling: 60 years of shaping destinies and molding the beginning of numerous professionals: 60 years of teaching over 6,000 Nigerian kids.

May God continue to strengthen me as I stay true to my calling till I die.

A group of youths in Yobe symbolically cast off the ''bad omen'' brought to the state by President Muhammadu Buhari during his recent visit, when they engaged in sweeping and washing the streets of the state capital.

President Muhammadu Buhari arrived in Yobe State on Wednesday, March 14, as part of his visit to states affected by Boko Haram attacks and herdsmen-farmers crisis. The president also met with parents of the abducted Dapchi schoolgirls, traditional rulers, and community leaders, among other stakeholders in the state.

The residents came out with brooms, water and detergent to wash off the President’s bad spell, soon after his departure. It was not the first time such gesture was being done. A similar thing was done in Kano some months back.

A Nigerian Air force training air plane has reportedly crashed in Kaduna. It was gathered that the plane crashed in Kauran Dawa in Saminaka Local Area of Kaduna state.

The airplane known as Diamond 40, is a one person seater training aircraft which is used for training of personnel at the NAF base.

However, no casualty was involved as the pilot of the airplane came out unhurt.

A member of the National Youth Service Corps has been left seriously injured after an attack by some notorious cultists in Bayelsa state. Reports have it that the serving Corp member was butchered in Angalabiri community, Sagbama Local government area of the state in an alleged case of armed robbery two nights ago.

Two out of the four cultists allegedly involved in the attack have been apprehended by security operatives and are currently cooling off their heels in police custody.

The victim who had his hand almost chopped off - is currently receiving medical attention in an undisclosed hospital.

Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West district - has reacted to reports that two criminal suspects allegedly working for him were arrested and paraded by officers of the Nigerian police force. The police said the suspects have confessed to being provided weapons and financial support by Dino Melaye.

The controversial senator took to his social media pages to share his reaction as he wrote; The venom of a viper does nothing to the back of a tortoise

A statement by police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood said the suspects, identified as Kabiru Saidu and Nuru Salisu, were paraded on Monday in Lokoja, the state capital.

During interrogation, they further confessed they were Political Thugs recruited by some mischievous Politicians in Kogi State to cause mayhem, and disruption of peace, and destruction of lives and property in the State. They also confessed to belonged to the gang of a dreaded and vicious kidnap for ransom gang under a gang leader (name withheld) whose where about is being investigated by the Force. The two suspects were identified by some of their victims.

The development could further complicate the ongoing political crisis that has seen Mr. Melaye and Governor Yahaya Bello enmeshed in bitter confrontations over the state’s political structure.
