NaLaugh:
That's really great, her parents must be proud.
I'm about to start working on my PPL (private pilot license), as well. I have no intention to go beyond that to get a commercial pilot license though.

A few observations with this. First off, she is not yet a pilot, as you have to be 17 here before you can get a PPL (she said it too), so this thread title is inaccurate. In other words, if she loses interest in flying between now and her 17th birthday, then she'll not get a license - which is when you become a pilot.

Getting a PPL does not mean she'll be able, or allowed to fly a private jet or commercial craft, either. A PPL only trains and licenses you to fly single engine light crafts, like the one seen in the video.

Second, the CNN anchor kept saying she flew "solo," which is incorrect. To fly solo means you fly alone in the aircraft.
However, you must be at least 16 to fly solo . The legendary Tuskegee airmen were with her on the flight.

That said, none of the facts I've pointed out takes anything away from the awesomeness of her feat so far. I guess the main big deal with this is that she's a 15 yr old black girl, and the distance of 7k miles she covered.

Awesome little girl.
Hi, can u tell me where to fly plane of that category here in Nigeria.

Let me tell you, talking about good contact, I can boast of having reasonable ones my first volunteer and official assignment was with NNPC / NAPIMS during my industrial trainee program, I moved to Mobil for another six month just working for free, do you know my monthly income then? just #7,500 , after six month in Mobil, I move to chevron for another six just offering volunteer service, during my industrial training in napims I was the executive assistance to the director of internal audit anytime all the ogas are away I held the office guiding some of the staffs, after the IT I was called by the admin manager to sit back and work with her as a staff, my director Warned me to return to school, and I was young, I have to wear nysc Jersey because I don't want to regret not wearing that Jersey, I picked up the courage and returned to school, now I have masters of international business degree from hult international business school. I can say I understand Nigeria challenges better than you I return to Nigeria to startup an NGO and I'm Fine with my social enterprise because I just want to me happy,

on the issue of insult by your boss, it is wrong anywhere in the word for you to commit emotional murder as a boss,.. my director Once slap is driver because he couldn't find him after meeting and he kept him in the sun for ten minutes, thou the case was brought to the office as young as I was, I still manage to resolve the conflict and I become a star, the danger of emotional trauma is that, it keeps you in the office as a robot, you can't be happy doing the job,.and if you refuse to do the needful one day the company will kick you out and you will find reason to start searching for your true self.

on the issue of working without payment, listen to the truth and listen good, in life there is time for everything, you will understand this when you start having children. I won't talk much on that,

Nigeria have a big problem not doubt about that in terms of job creation and employability, that is Why we are canvasing for entrepreneurship rather than job searching because the jobs are not there go to public institutions make enquiries what are the ratio of employees intake annually compare to rate of graduates produced by NYSC every quarter of the year, the result will shock you. this was why i laud tony elumelu foundation on enterprise, you need to see the world to know the difference between hell and fire ,well you're still a corper make good use of your time like I told you earlier, Nigeria is yet to get it right on employability
Hi.
Thank u for your correspondence.

The first question I like to ask is, did all ur effort on getting job experience not pay off?
You are the kind of people I love to move with, those that have foresight and are willing to put their best in anything they do.
You can see that in the long run those places u worked for provided the capacity for you to start a large enterprise without starting from the scratch. If u read my post, well I said that you may or u may not get a job but you will have experience which will make ur cv robust for another job.

See, the problem I have with Nigerians is that they are always expecting opportunity to come to them on their laps. If not that, they want the government to do everything for them forgetting that we are living in a country where there are limited job opportunities. The solution is to take the bull by the horn and if possible work for free to gather experience maybe the door will open one day. My fellow country men will sit down and bliving job comes like breakfast in the morning and it's bad. So I am beckoning on hard working guys to see any thing possible to do to gather experience. It may not be an easy task but I promise u ur efforts will not go unrewarded. It may not be as much as u want but it will be worth it. You can even have boasting rights that u worked in so so and so company and u know mr or Mrs so so so and so. It will give u an edge above others. Thanks bro once again.

u hate broke guys. Whats ur definition of broke? One need to start from somewhere.

The like of P square, Iyanya n wizkid were once broke. It's been a long time girls had been looking for already made men.

It doesn't work that way. P of the P of sqaure married his old time girlfriend who knows where he once started from.
The gal was there wen he was broke but still stood by him. Why didn't he go for all these other girls for marriage?

The point is that any girl that does nt hav d idea of where dat once broke guy started from will never appreciate how hrd it is to work for money n make wealth.

In case: I'm nt a broke guy bt I'll never marry a gold digger.

''Make she no go bring my empire down'' wit her extravagant spending. We will eat 3 times a day, drive d latest Car , live in a modern mansion then invest.

She should b able to serve as an adviser to me wen I'm extravagantly throwing off money or unnecessarily buying expensive things for her.

A wise woman will say: Honey I think I already have two cars (corrrrs) why getting me another one?
The man wil like : baby I just feel like get it for u.

Wife: I knw honey but we should have invested dat money on somtin else. Thats what Solomon termed a Wise wife.

I'll marry a gal who is cautious abt money n we r good to go.

Stand by that broke guy who has a future cuz there is diffrent types of brokeness so to say. A guy mayy be broke now but stil have a good future. U knw what I mean? I can vow for such a guy that wit no time he go soon blow. Ayiri that Warri Billionaire was once a cronci broke nigga. I even learnt that her then galfriend left him because of this broke of a thing bt today he is a billionaire. Hope u get the gist.

Ok let me put it this way. Can u do something for me just a simple favor.
1) Go to well paying firm of ur choice
2) strike a deal with the the manager that u want to work for free. that he should give u just enough to pay for you feeding and transport
3)bear it in mind that this is going to be a very tough time for u but u only need to gain experience from that firm
4)forget about laws and learn everything u can from that biz. Even though ur boss shouts on u. In short be result oriented
Make sure the point men i.e the manager accounts, supervisors of that company recognize ur efforts
5)take a journal and write reports of how the biz run and see how to make that biz better

6)learn to be an expert in writing letters. That's one weapon in the corporate world. Know how to write in a way to convince whoever and not offend the person

7) be as humble as possible. If possible stay on the ground. If u r pisssed, relax and remember it is just for a short while - one year
Ur motive actually is to work as a spy. Ur objective is to get as many contacts as u can as fast as possible including the customers that will help u one day outside that premises be nice to them. These ppl are ppl u don't see walking on the streets everyday but u catch them in such places
Discuss on a cup of coffee with ur boss how u can make this or that better in the company and u will see how ur boss will open up to you

Even though u don't get to work there again u already have the experience for ur cv and COOONNTAACCTS FOR UR NEXT JOB

That's what u get from working without payment.

Good point but it's not easy out here bro. Most 'corpers' are of this opinion until they finish serving. Bro, fine, there are some graduates who aren't so smart and intelligent, but then again, there are lots of smart folks out there languishing who haven't made it.

My point is: it's not easy being an unemployed Nigerian graduate. Too many variables affect your chances of getting a good job.
Nice one bro the thing is I learnt from experience that its only when u meet a strong opponent u will know how strong u r meaning that if u don't go out and struggle. Fine u may fail but u will not know how weak and un learnt one is and correct urself.

Look, my dad is a chief and I have the luxury of 3 sqaure meals and four cars at my disposal but after finishing my degree I decided to pick taxi driving as a job to find out what is so hard about this life. Under the sun, under the rain, rough handled by garage boys caught by timariv (similar to LASTMA) in rivers state saw different types of human beings and different xters, going some days with little pay in my pocket and so on.

I learnt much about people and didn't know I had started building my inter personal skills, I learnt how to get up as early as 4 am so as so meet up with target and this has followed me till now. I met ppl that changed my life while in the biz and so on. So where I am going to is that I learnt how to hustle in trying times - something I won't have done if I was at home. And most importantly I met God I was closer to me than I expected.

My lovely dad was surprised when I came back I was stronger and I understood him better when he was broke. Before I never knew that even chiefs go broke. I became a man quick. Till today I will never, never, ever regret my choice to go into taxi driving biz.

I don't believe in this unemployable slogan, Nigerians are unemployable and foreign countries like dubai, south Africa Australia even US search for Nigerian graduate, let face our reality, there is no Job period, in dubai you work in for interview because vacancy surpasses working class, here in Nigeria *clear throat* 2 position, 20,000 application, I beg no job for naija, even the government know this, that is Why It's better to encourage entrepreneurship than receiving application to give jobs that never exist, even some company want you to work for free when you have family at home, work experience indeed.
That is because nobody wants to work as a secretary, nobody wants to work as a teacher nobody wants to work as a book keeper, nobody wants to work as a marketer, nobody wants to work as a social worker, nobody wants to be a farmer.

We all want to work in oil and gas companies, government house, hospitals, banks, law firms, dangote companies etisalat mtn glo airtel name it.

Who will fill in the other positions? If the whole Nigeria should go for this little ventures, why won't u say there are no jobs? Have u applied for the job as a secondary school teacher and they rejected you? Hmm?

I am jejely serving in NYSC farms and I proud about it despite the shoutings of my parents despite the fact that I finished as an elect/elect engineering student. I told the state coordinator to put me there and he was surprised. At present I am using my engineering skills in project management to better the place and am receiving recommendation from my manager and my director and bet me I will win an award while I am here. The experience here is fabulous. So humble yourself and see how u can serve. Its thru these small small areas the u will meet that ladder that will propel u to those multi national companies u so desire. You can't go higher if u don't meet ppl. You can't be known while u r sitting in ur house. It is when u movie out that u can recognise opportunities. Watching all the seasons of merlin, and kyle XY and bliv heaven will help u. Very good one but the truth is they cannot afford to 'see potentials'. Its a result oriented game, it's a function of who can make stuff happen, not who has the potential to make stuff happen.
My bro seriously the problem with Nigerian youth these days is that they are not willing to work. They want to make it big overnight and this incites disdain in their choice of jobs. Many want to work in firms where they are underemployed for and expect to be taken in because their mates are working in big firms so as to belong, but the thing is they themselves are not fit for those positions.

Rather than acquire experience from low paying jobs and study more for wisdom (motivational books and all that) they spend their days doing nothing and feel miracles will come from nowhere. I see them everywhere especially where I am serving and it worries me. Many of them can't write a simple letter and they want to work in oil company. Hian!

Nairaland General › Nigerian Oil Faces Fresh Trouble Over Iran Deal: by castro316(op): 6:42pm On Jul 16, 2015
Nigeria’s crude oil, which has been grappling with growing competition in the international market in recent times, has a new challenge to contend with: the imminent increase in Iranian oil in the market, analysts have said.

Six world powers, including the United States, on Tuesday reached a deal with Iran on limiting its nuclear activity in return for the lifting of international economic sanctions.

In 2012, the US and European Union imposed sanctions on Iran’s energy and financial sectors, and the country’s oil exports have been cut nearly in half as a result, according to the US Energy Department..

Comment: This further highlights the need for a diversified economic base.

U can't wash ur clothes, take care of ur room, put food on the table WITH UR OWN EARNED MONEY! Give ur younger ones stipends and u complain that why are girls so disdainful. Haba guys una harsh o. U r broke and u want a lady to worship u again? Ur function of being a man is to provide or better still. Make her happy. If she turns u down, you will say she is forming too much. If she agrees for u, u will say she is a b*tch, she's cheap, she's too easy. Seriously if I were a lady, I will look for a guy who can stand for me when I need him most. I talk less and I go for ladies who keep the communication running so likewise girls. Broke girls look for well to do guys. So don't waste ur time trying to impress a broke girl. Cos she might be worse than u and has seen the bottomless pit b4 and look for rich girls who need ur attention ONLY! My advice make ur money first and all other chicks shall run after u.

Pls if u no dey naija, u can't understand the situation.
Bros abeg if u feel too big to take a job, then take a hike. This job came with descriptions that u can take or leave why criticize it when u weren't forced to accept it. There are ppl like me who will be happy to do what it takes to get that truck. Most of the trucks u see on the road are more than 10 yrs oldand still working fine and if u really know what a truck gets for a trip, u will have a run for ur money. And I have not seen a nice offer of a truck after three yrs. For example a truck costs N18 millon divide it by 2 as salvage value (that's the value of what's left of the truck just saying) that's N9 million. On getting the truck do u know how much it takes to hire a truck u own? That's abt N100,000 PER TRIP plus trustworthy customers u will get during ur three yrs of service so before u complain, do ur home work well. A very good opportunity if I may say
