While I am unapologetically a supporter of Tinubu, I have to say that specifically many of the “Lagos boys” and a particular set of online media supporters (don’t know if they are official) are not the brightest tools in the box.

I saw one the other day posting a picture of highways claiming to be Abuja….not being able to use his brain to realize it can’t be Abuja because Abuja don’t use blue road signs. This also, I expect a man like Dare to verify before posting.

Obidients are brain dead and annoying but it’s starting to get to a point where some of the usual Tinubu boys on Twitter are starting to get on my nerves behaving like brain dead Obidients! They are probably desperate for appointment aand trying to outdo themselves with blatant brainless sychophancy. I unfollwed 2 in the last few days.
Politics › Re: Is There Any Hope For Peter Obi In SS In 2027 Election? by casualobserver: 10:27am On May 01, 2025
helinues:
I doubt. Considering the rate of defection from the Pdp big wigs in South South, president Tinubu trying to make imprint to the region, there is no hope for Peter Obi in South South

And to those claiming those who are defecting dont have more than 1 vote, you better have a rethink as those politicians command the supporters on ground

All the fake story regarding president Tinubu and the Muslim Muslim ticket have been debunked. South South people have realised facts from fictions
I think he will do ok in the SS but I don’t think he will gain votes. I doubt anyone who didn’t vote for Obi last time, will vote for him this time. He has peaked in terms of votes but the Ibos will vote for him wherever they reside. The real game in the SS is to convert PDP votes to APC votes because anyone who lives in the SS and did not vote for Obi and instead PDP will likely switch to APC.

If Nigeria has bad governments, it is because the people are bad…like his Uncle….he campaigned for his Uncle so he campaigned for bad government!

It is Nigerians that make up the government. Civil servants, police, politicians, governors senators, presidents and all those that make up the “government” were once ordinary Nigerians. Nobody is born into the government! The only person I know whose name is Government is Tompolo and I am sure it is a nickname and in any event, he is not part of the government!

The rest of the world is building cars that drive themselves, cars that don’t use conventional engines, cars that can see potholes and adjust the suspension accordingly, these ones are celebrating some one for copying something that was done 125 years ago and done better!

Pls,I really wanna know why?
Because as soon as you have children, nobody has your time. Your wife’s focus is the children….rightly so. That is how mature designed it, for the man to provide and the woman to nurture the young. You work hard to provide and come home and you are not a priority to anyone at home, they give the the biggest meat to make you feel good and that’s it. You have no outlet unlike other men with side chics so you become miserable. Yet you are expected to be a man and carry on like everything is ok because you are the head of the family. This is why men die before their wives.

Back in the day you would have a side chick to fulfil your emotional needs who would invariably become wife no2 until she has her own kids and you find wife no3 etc etc. but we have bought into Oyinbo way of life that has told you it is tabboo. So your option is to remain monogamous faithful and miserable!

Good luck to the faithful monogamous men!

Three issues here:
- Why the belief that anyone who speaks ill of the present administration is an Igbo person? Are you saying it's only Igbos who can call out the ills of the present government? Others aren't doing the same thing?
- Why do you believe that no Igbo person believes or thinks that Tinubu would win come 2027? I'm one of such persons.
- What has the south south benefitted from being in the centre? It's not like Warri and Calabar ports are functioning or Ibom Port has been approved even after Udom Emmanuel begged Buhari tire.
Many of Tinubu’s most vocal critics are from the SW. Even I who support him have criticized some of his actions, like the jet and the conspicuous consumption in. The face of hardship by the masses but you can always identify an Ibo man by his posts. Emotion always goes before and infact overshadows any critical thought if at all any exists. However, I checked his post history to confirm he was an Ibo man! You can always tell an Ibo man by his posts!

All the other stuff you mention is just theoretical academic idealism. Do we have good citizens? Do citizens in the countries you look up to get paid by their parties to be polling agents? Did having a northern president benefit the North? Did having Obasanjo as president benefit the SW? The best president for the SW in terms of development was a Northerner….Buhari! Our politics is not about competence or capacity so let’s stop pontificating or pretending it is or the alternate options posses such abilities of competency or even pretend that we as citizens are deserving of good governance/leaders by our own actions.

My comments are about the game of politics based on the realities on ground, I am not here to pontificate. Let me make it clear to you, our system and pysche as a people has been so damaged that even Awolowo would struggle in this environment. Awolowo wasn’t dealing with the kind of citizens, politicians and civil servants we have today!

So if you want to discuss the politics of electioneering based on the lay of the land today fine. So if you want to start pontificating, I will ask what role have we all played as citizens to deserve or demand good leadership? How can you have bad citizens and expect good leaders? Are the leaders aliens, do they not emerge from the same citizenry?

“A country gets the leadership it deserves”…. Joseph de Maistre

no truer a statement has been made!

SS understand politics, you understand only emotion and insults. Since 1960, SS has always been aligned with the center. With the exception of 2015 and when they read the room they have been gradually realigning.

what I like about the SS is that they can always read the room. They are aligning for VP in 2031 and presidency in 2039, you are still insulting like you have been insulting since 1960!

You will play politics of bitterness and insults and start demanding for presidency.

Whether we like it or not, tribal politics is a major component of our politics. If you were not there for me when it was my turn, do t expect me to be there for you when it is your turn. SW was there for Buhari and the North turned up for the SW. The SS is now lining up behind the SW in its moment of need. So knowing that the SW cannot see presidency the next time power rotates to the south, who do you think the SW will suppport the next time the presidency rotates to the south?

Be there playing politics of emotion and insults!

Kalu should be grateful he was plucked out of obscurity to become a deputy speaker.

There are some endeavors one should not even bother attempting.

Even after Otti has finished his second term, he can’t become governor!

He hasn’t got what it takes to be a governor, quite frankly he hasn’t got what it takes for deputy speaker!
Politics › Re: I Have No Plans To Join APC - Governor Otti by casualobserver: 10:18pm On Apr 26, 2025
He needs to be in LP for his second term, it would be suicidal of him to leave now. Everybody knows that if he has any political ambitions after his second term, then just like his mentor Obi…he will leave LP…after all Obi said the same when he was governor of Anambra.

The key is in his words “ is presently not planning or discussing with anyone to defect to the APC or any other party”. Why would he, what does he stand to gain jumping ship now?

I repeat: the ECA is a dormant account. In any event I don’t know how a supposed educated person, knowing we had forward sold future crude production for years, borrowed to stay afloat, knows that NNPC did not remit any funds for years expect to have a surplus in the ECA? If there were excess crude funds why would we be forward selling future production? Did your brain not tell you that a country forward selling its future production has no money in the excess crude account?

The excess crude account is inactive and has been inactive for years that is why the balance is low. If you check, the balance has been stagnant for years.. What was the excess crude account is now Vested in the Nigerian sovereign investment fund.

You are a bad leader who can't unite your party.

I must say this is probably the 1st statement by Atiku that actually sounds like a proper opposition leader….like someone who was actually a vice president of a country. Ofcourse he will say Tinubu has acheived nothing…that’s the job of an opposition leader. But. This is the 1st statement he has released that isn’t petty and unbecoming. It seems he has finally learnt how to talk like an opposition leader instead of releasing statements in order to keep up with Obi. Though not original, I also acknowledge how he is now framing the election as a battle between Tinubu and Nigerians. Maybe he has finally realizes copying Obi’s attention at all costs, gutter, brain dead, race to the bottom style will only lead him to the gutter and he must set the example for Obi not be led by Obi in his public statements. Uptill now it had seemed he just make statements because Obi made a statement and not to be forgotten.

That said, nothing for him! 2027 is a done deal!
Politics › Re: Atiku, Saraki Spearhead PDP Resurgence Amid Key Defections by casualobserver:
As I have said many times on this forum, no northern governor with ambitions on the presidency will support Atiku. It is in their interest to support Tinubu because we know he has only one term left. With Atiku out of the way, the playing field is leveled in 2031 for a northern candidate.

Saraki is simply playing smart. By showing loyalty now to PDP, it puts him in prime position to clinch the PDP ticket in 2031 with Atiku and Tinubu out of the way. For now he will say the right things but will work against Atiku.

This is my post from march:

casualobserver:
People need to be a bit more discerning.

ElRufai wanted to be a minister. Therefore he is clearly still politically ambitious. For someone who has been a governor and a minister what else is there to aim for but the presidency or possibly the VP as a stepping a stone. Park that for now.

Northern ambitious politicians especially some governors want to be president. An opening is coming up for the North either in 2027 or 2031. If you as an ambitious northern politician don’t seize that opportunity, that’s your chance of being the president gone. A Northern president in 2027 cannot hand over to another northerner in 2031 or 2035 especially after denying the South its 2 terms.

The idea that ElRufai, Atiku, Kwankwanso, Bala Mohammed or the likes of Sule Lamido or Tambuwal will work for each other to make one the president in 2027 is to me a fallacy! And to me this is where the alliance unravels. Atiku will run, constitutionally he can’t be a VP again meaning any northern heavy weight supporting him is basically kissing goodbye to any presidential ambition.

My prediction: they will fail to form an alliance or will engage in anti-alliance activities and split the votes again. Be under no illusion, there are ambitious Northern opposition heavyweights who want to be president and would rather wait for 2031 by which time 1) Atiku their main threat would be too old to run thus giving them a smoother path and 2) they would be able to count on undiluted southern votes. Nobody is doing this out of the interests of the people. Where you stand is based on how the permutations serve you politically. It is politically suicidal for any ambitious northern heavy weight to back any northern candidate other than himself. For the same reason the likes of Fayemi, Osinbajo, Tunde Bakare etc contested against Tinubu….they knew it is then or never. After Tinubu the SW will not be president for 40 years….a generation!

For an ambitious northern politician, he knows it is better to back a southern candidate in 2027. Furthermore, he also knows backing Tinububserves his interests better because he can’t contest again in 2031. If he backs a fresh southern candidate like Amaechi or Obi, they could break any agreement to serve one term like Jonathan at which point they would also have the power of incumbency. If Atiku wins he can’t handover to another Northerner so It does not serve the interest of ANY northern governor whether PDP or APC to back another Northerner in 2027 other than himself.

I say this not because I support Tinubu. For me the logical, smart move for an ambitious Northern governor or politician is to back, be seen to back and deliver for Tinubu in 2027. A Sule lamido, Tambuwal, Kwakwanso, Bala Mohammed, even Saraki have nothing to gain politically by backing Atiku or aligning with ElRufai if they nurse ambitions to be president themselves. With Atiku out of the picture in 2031, the SW vote and Tinubu’s backing will play a big role if not determine which Northerner becomes president in 2031.

Politicians make deals all the time, In 2011 despite ACN having a presidential candidate Tinubu made a deal with Jonathan and delivered SW votes. In 2023, Wike and Makinde made a deal with Tinubu. Again I repeat your relevance in politics is predicated on your ability to deliver votes. ElRufai has no votes backing him. The only Northerners I can see as part of any coalition especially are those who are either political lightweights or have no presidential ambition. When the time comes those who have votes and have ambitions will make the right deals for them. Leave ElRufai and his social media content. We know the fate of all social media politicians like Sowore and Fela Durotoye.

So you see, personal ambition will trump any alliance and all that is happening now is just noise.
SS is positioning for VP in 2031 and will get it, the smart northerners are positioning for Tinubu’s support for presidency in 2031 by supporting him now. The noise makers without followers like ElRufai and Lukman are running from pillar to post. Forget 2027, it is the deals for 2031 that are being done.
