I hope he is better than that Osodeke who talks like a lab technician not a professor. |
carzeem1:Please let us show some intelligence here. Ofcourse there will be civilians. Are you people so intellectually shallow? Can they form a political party without civilians? Why are we like this? Why are we so dull? Even when the military were in power they had trusted civilians who were “civilian military boys”. So apart from the fact that a party will always have genuine civilians, a lot of the civilians are people they knew from past associations they could work with and trust would protect their interests in a new civilian regime. Like I said even Yaradua despite being a civilian was a military boy, perhaps more military that those who once wore uniform! Examples of. civilians who are “military boys” are Abiola, Arisekola, recently at IBB’s book launch you heard some civilian military boys confess their sins. |
Akinpresident:I spoke about PDP. I made no mention of APC. That is your own creation! PDP was a military construct. It was the anointed party for the transition. Even the presidential candidate Obasanjo was hand picked by the military. That you had civilians does not mean it wasn’t a military construct. Look at a lot of the top brass in the PDP from 1999, a lot of them are ex military. OBJ,Babangida, David Mark, Bode George, Nyako, Jang, Atiku, Alamieyeseigha, etc. Even late yaradua that became governor of katsina in 1999 became governor because he is from a military family! Go through a list of the PDP chieftains and governors senators etc, you will be amazed how many of them are ex military, police customs, DSS, NSA etc or people who were “friends” of the forces particularly the military. PDP was a creation of the military. That is where you will find the Ex military/ ex forces boys because it was their party. Tell me which opposition party in 1999 had retired military men? They were all in PDP because it was their soft landing transition party. It was their creation, like all military exploits they use civilians just like politicians use civil servants to do their dirty work….so don’t be deceived. I know many of you are young and may not know many of these people are retired military. Go through the top brass in PDP from 1999-2007 and check their backgrounds. They are either military, police, customs, DSS, NSA, etc. even Anenih ex PDP chairman is ex police! Party chairman ex police President ex military Vice President ex customs Senate president. Ex military Numerous governors and senators ex one force or another And you expected such a party to behave democratically? It is that legacy haunting g them today! |
Akinpresident:PDP was never a Democratic Party. It was a creation of ex military generals with the purpose of transitioning power from military to civilians. As such it operated with a military mindset…. With impunity, Imposition, dictatorial, command and control, do as I say structure It’s undemocratic nature was masked because it was in power. It unraveled when it lost power because it is not rooted in compromise, give and take and other democratic principles. As such it didn’t know how to handle being in opposition and those who tolerated the impunity deserted it when there was no cake to share! They are now forced to learn how to be a Democratic Party. PDP is not dead and will be back but it needs to realize its priority now is rebuilding the party, reducing the influence of those with the old tendencies and forgetting about winning presidential elections for now. |
tunjijones:Oga you are being pedantic. Others understand if you disturb me further I’ll block you. This is not old Nairaland where trolls just disturb people! |
tunjijones:Words have different meanings depending on context. In the context of governance this is the definition of technocracy “Technocracy is a form of government in which decision-makers appoint knowledge experts in specific domains to provide them with advice and guidance in various areas of their policy-making responsibilities. “ |
tunjijones:He is a career civil servant technocrat. That he was a mediocre technocrat doesn’t negate the fact that he is a technocrat. It’s like saying a bad politician is. It a politician or a bad mechanic is not a mechanic. It’s. Ot about how good you are at your profession but what your profession is. |
tunjijones:Technocrats always think they are politicians one they assume power. They feel they are too intelligent for the politician that put them there…..Then they learn politics is not from the classroom but from the streets, Osinbajo, Ambode, Obaseki, Fubara, ElRufai same thing! |
Arabambi revealed recently that LP did not have polling agents in 50,000 polling units. When they say you need party structure to win the presidency this are the types of things they mean! Who is going to pay for party structure between Obi and ElRufai? The only parties that can win a presidential election in Nigeria today because they have the structure are PDP aand APC! Unfortunately for PDP, they are in intensive care at the moment and will be till at least 2031. Furthermore, you can take it to the bank that PDP is not giving its platform to Obi or Atiku. The north has read the room and are realigning, yet some neophytes are putting up school playground fantasy permutations. 2027 is a done deal, people are now positioning for 2031. Today Patience said count them out, as far as 2027, she and her family are backing Tinubu because Tinubu saved GEJ with SW votes when the North turned on him in 2011. When you are running for presidency, you will need to call in favours from people you have helped in the past. I am waiting for the list of people Obi and ElRufai have helped. Not the long list of people they betrayed! |
cjudy:Thanks for this post! I have been calling for a block feature and I didn’t know it had been implemented! However the block feature needs to be permanent. My excitement was dampened when I found out it is only for a week. The truth is Seun thrives in the chaos that is Nairaland, he may say he does but he really doesn’t want to make this place a saner place because it would mean less traffic. 1 week block is a waste for time! |
CreativeOrbit:You are so du mb you can’t see you contradict yourself. Natasha IS the corrupt system, Sandra is only amplifying her cause! That she happened to expose The fraud that is OBy and Natasha does not negate the fact that she is doing it for personal gain. Integrity is the most abused word in Nigeria. There is no public figure in Nigeria, whether politician, activist, etc with integrity. You cannot survive the Nigerian public space if you have any integrity. Ironically I spoke about this only recently. Nigerians with integrity are not known because they maintain a low profile and avoid interactions with the charlatans that have hijacked our public space! To start with you cannot win an election in Nigeria at whatever level if you have integrity. You cannot mix with excrement and not have some spill on you. Secondly all these activists use activism to get paid! So again that you can mention integrity when talking about a Nigerian public figure shows how shallow, unintelligent or ignorant you are, how low your standards are or your lack of understanding of the word! One crook exposes another crook because it was expedient…… they are both crooks, neither are saints |
Anybody with a modicum of intelligence can now see that Natasha is a liar! This Sandra woman is overdoing it and trying to force herself into the story. E don do! two of you go and rest! |

Agbegbaorogboye:I stopped reading your post at G-5. Why was G5 formed? Who breached the party’s constitution on zoning for his personal ambition? Like I said the problem with the opposition is they blame others for their mid-steps. You had 14m votes, you caused division. You lost to the man with 8m. You blame everybody but yourselves. You continue to shift blame, you are not not ready for opposition talk less power! It’s a pity for you that you wrote such a long post and I didn’t bother to read it because you started with such a 8tooop1d argument. I won’t bother reading any responses to me so don’t bother. |
fergie001:My bad I obviously mistook your handle! There are sound people from the SE that are very electable…..from all parties. Umahi, Soludo, Chidoka! I can’t understand why the SE chose to coalesce behind Obi. |
Agbegbaorogboye:You are the one who is failing to understand issues. If you had any intelligence you will realize none of them is running for presidency in 2027 so naturally it is a given they need to secure their current position whether as senator or governor. However, that is not why they are defecting. Any ambitious northern politician gunning for 2031 presidency can read the room and realize he would need Tinubu’s support since the entire SW vote is up for grabs and under his control! You don’t defect in 2030 and start seeking Tinubu’s support in 2031, you do it now. It’s not by chance APGA declared public support for Tinubu yesterday, it’s because they realize the SS has moved ahead of the SE for the VP slot in 2031. To your comment that they are defecting simply for re-election, then I suggest that your thinking faculties are malfunctioning because you are just buttressing my point that Atiku has destroyed PDP that even Northern PDP incumbent politicians feel a need to defect to get re-elected. If PDP isn’t damaged why defect? Did Soludo who openly declared support for Tinubu defect? Is it not the same APC we are told has lost popularity in the North? People are positioning for 2031 and PDP is a damaged brand….for now. Governors are not funding the party! Atiku is the root of all the problems in PDP. Is Zamfara not a PDP state, abi they don’t want reelection too? Or they won’t be re-elected in Delta if three don’t defect? People are defecting mostly based on positioning for 2031. Why aren’t Osun or Oyo PDP defecting? Because they can’t be president or VP in 2031! It is intellectually shallow to suggest people are defecting for re-election or being coerced to defect. The opposition is in disarray because it doesn’t own its mistakes and lays blame elsewhere. Ps: Did I just read Bala Mohammed? Are you a comedian? I should not have bothered replying you. You are clearly a neophyte! |
Agbegbaorogboye:Everything that is happening now I predicted long time ago. I said it that no Northern Governor is going to support Atiku. casualobserver: |
fergie001:Did I not tell you people to learn how to play politics? I am a big fan of Umahi and other Ibos in APC have worked hard but unfortunately your people were backing the wrong horse and the SS smelt the coffee ahead of you. Ordinarily the next southern VP and president should be Ibo but you haven’t played your cards well. I have said it many times Obi is unelectable. He is the wrong type of Ibo and the longer the SE queue up behind him the longer it takes to retrace your steps and the further you fall behind the queue! After Tinubu, we Yorubas have no right or claim to presidency or VP for the next 40 yrs. Get your act together or a Yoruba May even become VP or president again before you. I really feel for Umahi. He’s been a loyal party man and an excellent minister but his people have so far let him down. Like Orji Kalu said recently, the way you negotiate in politics is with votes! |
Igirigimercenar:The question is how bad is the leadership of the opposition under Atiku and Obi that no one wants to associate with them? For Gods sake the party that controls his state just openly declared total suppprt for his rival! I don’t think we should waste money on elections in 2027. El Rufai right now! |
Meanwhile all 3 PDP senators in Kebbi including Adamu Ailero just defected to APC! |
IgOga:……and everything! |
Qadaffi2idiamin:Obi’s supporters are dumber than Obi himself. You see all those schools and courses you listed? They admit anybody who has money and there are no exams, you get a certificate for attending. They are seminars not academic programs. Notice he avoided masters degrees or PH.D? If Portable has money and want to enrol, they will admit him. All they want is your money. Remember Obi recently narrating how he didn’t drink wine during one of his courses not knowing it was free and he had already paid for it? A lot of those course or programs last for 1 week or a month max. A lot of Nigerians enrol in them to boost their image knowing people like you don’t know any better. |
I saw the speech too..I wondered when someone would point out that Peter Obi said he would float the Naira on day1, that forex subsidy was a scam. He would know because he obtained his forex at the official rate and sold his products at the parallel market rate. If he floated the Naira, did he expect the Naira to remain at the same level? |
PDPdestroyer:The day OBI joins APC is the day I will vote against them. You don’t because you want to eat meat call a cow your brother. |
Only people who don’t know and understand the British society are celebrating this deal. Nigerians who live in the Uk can testify….the British will boycott any food product associated with Americans. Either finished products or products containing American feed inputs. The British are rightly suspicious of American farming methods. I can see British people in the near future scrutinizing labels and investigating the input chain of their favourite foods. |
This is how you know someone who has what it takes to be a president. Can you imagine that Atiku and Obi had already made comments condemning Seyi Tinubu! Somebody who is destined to operate at the highest level does not comment on every little story on Twitter. Even GTB that they lied against did not comment and has not commented. It is now coming out that not only did VDM’s mother take a loan but did not tell her son and confessed at the bank that she did indeed take a loan but also VDM was never arrested at GTB. |
1: VZms mother did take a loan but lied to her son. It was confirmed at GTB 2: he wasn’t arrested at GTB 3: it is on this man’s record. All future employers will eventually see his video. Welcome to the world of Nigerian youths where common sense is lacking! BTW, to the OP: if you want to drive traffic to your site try to be current. This news event is 2 or 3 days old. I didn’t click on it! |
Gunayo:2003 and 2007 when PDP controlled more states via rigging you didn’t shout one party state? Instead of you to attack Obi and Atiku for the way they are leading (destroying) the opposition, you are shouting one party state! |
TRUMPwedsBUHARI:Perhaps you need to read the article again. It said “as at April 30”. Nigeria announced liquidation of IMF debts on May 5 and since that date all available. Data on IMF website show a zero debt balance. Have you considered that I owed you money as at end of last month but I have since paid it off? If I make an announcement non May 5, my account balance as at April 30 is irrelevant. In any event our previous debt to IMF compared to world bank and other international institutions was peanuts. So I really don’t understand the vigor to discredit the govt. Whether we owe IMF $200m (which we don’t) or owe them nothing, we still owe foreign creditors over $43b! |
