The Best advice so far...

Richy4:
If I was to be in your shoes,
<<I will try every thing I could to ask my brother to meet me on a neutral ground...
<< On that day, I will ask him to tell me exactly what the wife said was the problem...
<< I will also tell him what my wife told me was her grievances....
<< I will take him to memory lane on how we were before we got married and how our parent played major role to unit us together as one..
<<I will beg him not to let us fight because of the women that we married no matter what..
<<Next week, I will suggest we go to an amusement park with our kids without the wives...None of them should be present...
<< Let them keep on fighting but as for me and my brother and their kids we will not...I won't want anyone to destroy the peace and harmony our parents instill in us while growing up as kids..
<<That's what I will do buddy...But both of you can't achieve this if they were the ones wearing the bigger trouser...No disrespect...

I'm very sorry, it funny in this life you hardly find q good siblings, imagine having one and taking advantage of them.
From your post, i realise he is been brought spoilt, obviously being the last born and only son, bù that's not an excuse.
My advise for you ma, Yoruba do say "a má fi agídí fa ẹṣin lọ sodo ni, a ó kín fi agídí fún ní omi"
You can't only force q horse to river, you can't force it to drink water..

My main concern is your parent especially your dad, he will really be feeling bad right now.

He is old enough, i now this might be hard, but the best is just to leave him alone to his own, let him taste the freedom , I'm sure he will realise and come back to his sense.

Another thing u can do is to gather people get hold of him and beat a hell out of him.

PLease i want to ask you a question, let's assume with all these dramas, she agrees to go with you, you mean you will still marry her?

EnemyofGod22:
I'm Planning To Lay Claims To My Baby Girl My Girlfriend Gave To Another Man.

Here is my true life story
My name is Samuel, from Benue state, Idoma language.

Last year November 2020 I met this girl from Akwa Ibom state, we both live in pH, before I woo her, I asked her if she had a boyfriend, she said no. She told me that her boyfriend broke her heart, they are no longer together. I said okay, I love her and I want her to be my girlfriend which she said yes, she loves me too, from that day on we became friend. On 9th of November, I invited her to my house which she came, we had great time together, we had malaton sex that day, each day by day our relationship growing stronger.

Fast forward to December Christmas day, I called her to come to my house, she told me she's going to her elder sisters house to assist her prepare Christmas food, I said okay, then after Christmas on 27 December she came to my house we again had great time together. She stayed in my house for four days before she went back to her house.

One day I visited her in her house, I met her with a guy, they are almost fighting each other. Immediately she saw me she left the guy and met me. I asked her who the guy is? She told me it was that her first boyfriend, She said the guy nearly beat her because of me. She again said the guy is angry with her because of me. I said okay if she love the guy let them continue their relationship, she said no, it is me she loves and she can't continue the reletionship with him. She told me we should go to my house that night which we went to my house, one thing lead to another, we had great sex till day break.

Fast forward to January

On second week of January this year, she came to my house and told me that she missed her period. I took her to pharmacy and did some tests and the result came out she is pregnant. She asked me what is she going to do with the Pregnancy? I told her to keep the Pregnancy, but she said no she's going to abort it, then I told her if she has ever done abortion before she should not try this baby because it will going to back fire on her, she confessed said yes, she has done one abortion before, but what I told her now really entered her and she will not abort it again.

On the 3rd week of January, she came to my house and said I'm not the one responsible for her pregnancy. I was mad at her, I was thinking she was joking, but she said she is serious about it. Then I asked her who is responsible for the pregnancy? She told me that it was that her first boyfriend that is responsible for it. I asked her how is she sure it was that guy that got her pregnant? When on November, December and January we do have sex almost every day? And again I took her to one private hospital and did some normal test, the result came out she was pregnant from first week of January that day as she saw the result she said she is confused about the whole thing.

On first week of February, I was already prepared to take her to her parents for introduction and possibly pay some bride price, only for her to come to my house and insist that the boy responsible for her pregnant. One thing I discovered is that, the boy is financially stable than me, that's why she chose the boy over me and the boy's mother has hospital according to her, while my own parents are in the village.

Despite the fact she claimed I'm not the one responsible for her pregnant she is still coming to my house we do have sex, and bath together and eat together she keep telling me she loves me. I asked her if she truly love me as she said why did she carry my pregnant give another man? She said the woman always has the final said who give her pregnant.

Fast forward On MAY, that is, the pregnancy was 5months, she came to my house midnight I asked her why did she come to my house? She said she had misunderstanding with the guy and the guy is threatening to beat her, she went straight to my bed and lie down, removed all her clothes naked and said let air touch her, I told her what she is doing is not good if she knows truly the pregnant is not mine, why is she coming to my house and lie down naked? I tried as much as possible to send her away but she refused to go and kept telling me she loves me.

She asked me which baby do I like her to born? I told her, baby boy, she again asked me which name do I like to name the baby? I name him (OCHE) OCHE means King in Idoma language, every day we keep calling each other and when I called her, I always called her mama OCHE which she does called me back baba OCHE.

Some time I do send her some money to take care of herself.

To cut the long story short, she gave birth in September, but unfortunately it was a baby girl she born. The day she born, the next day she called me and informed me about the baby, which she even snapped the baby and sent it to me on Whatsapp.

Before I forget, again on last Sunday of July midnight she came to my house, I asked her why did she come to my house with 7 months Pregnancy? She said her boyfriend make her angry and with annoyance she even told him he is not responsible for the Pregnancy, the guy is mad at her. When I was about to sleep, she started making move for sex, I stopped her several times but she refused keep trying until I fell for it, we latter had sex again.

Matured men and women in the house please advise me on what to do, because I'm planning to lay claim of the baby.

Sorry for so many typo, error in the write up.

Education / Re: Share Your Secondary School Experience With Bullies by causimalbarka(m): 5:59pm On Dec 05, 2021
As in..

I love this your story oo

donprincebigt:
Bullying is a Norm in secondary school frm the past.
I could remember then in a typical big govt school in sango ota, I got transferred to the school for my senior classes from my former school cus I liked the school and it's big and famous.
I got to the sku as an innocent bad boy, carefully looking for the crew to roll with. From there I got to know the bully of the sku. AWUSU. I Asked bou him and I got to understand that he's an aggressive person and bullies everyone in sku. He has been suspended so many times, was told his father is an imam that does different kind of works for people, so he has charm too, therefore everybody feared him. And also he was the head of a cult(namewitheld) in the sku, Immediately I knew his background I grew hatred 4 him cus I don't like his kinds

As a street boi mentality I that got from my former sch which was totally a razz sch, I tried as much as possible to avoid anything that could cause issue with us.

Some months into the sku, I met this pretty girl Dammy(now married with kids), the girl just liked me naturally and always wanted to be in my company, normally I liked the girl too but since I knew the girl was rolling with that bully's crew, so I always try to give her limit, not knowing the gang itself had marked my face.
As I was just going in our sku market that day, they just blocked me and gave me a warning concerning the girl. Normally me sef no too well 4 head. I looked at them and passed

I went back to the class and told the girl never to come to my base in class again, the girl told me not to worry but I did not give in to the extent me and d girl became enemies.

By then I met with some folks too that we had the same likeminds too. We all picked ourselves through winning a fight. I could remember every fight that happened in class then, anybody that wins would join our crew. Na so we con carry our seats together for back too. Neighboring with the bully crew.

The fateful day we were playing on the big pitch. That was when awusu and his crew that were in my class stepped into the field saying we should carry our ball that they want to play. Na so we change am 4 them. And in my crew we have one agege/mushin boi that left his sku in Lagos for our own and that guy too na game boi.
He tackled awusu with every slang pronounced.
At closing hour awusu brought in his gangs frm outside into the sku na so my niqqa to made a call cus we normally sneaked in our express music into the sku that time. In no time those ones too entered, it was later resolved and it was known that the level of people my niqqa brought was higher than that of awusu

Ever since. We now became tiger and lion inside jungle. Respect me make I respect u.
They won't cross our path neither did we.
But we became more popular then cus we are above average students. We won quiz and all.

But with the way life has it. The last time I saw Awusu, he's now a well reserved person, he's an Alfa with regards. I was like is this the bully of my sku. We just greeted and made fun of those days.

Secondary school is really a place to av experience and learn.

Car Talk / Re: Toyota Corolla 2004 Vs Honda Civic 2004 Which Is Better Overall? by causimalbarka(m): 3:59pm On Nov 22, 2021
skywalker240:
Good Morning great gurus,

Please am currently trying to get a car as am planning to start Bolt or Uber as a side hustle, by the special grace of God, but that's not why i created this thread.

I just want to know which is reliable, durable, that can withstand pressure (on the engine) in short better overall between the two cars, personally I have read alot of reviews here from you guys on the both ride, and I am considering getting the Civic, but my friends keep telling me Corolla is the best worldwide grin but then I reply them that the Honda is cheaper and even more beautiful, but they're not trusting the cheap price, some even mock me jokingly that na who no get money de tok say beer no sweet (what is it with the average Nigerian and Toyota sef undecided )

Truth be told, am a bit suspecting and having reservation's for the price of the Honda Civic

Frankly to be honest, am a novice when it comes to auto's

I just want a wider view on both and possibly the advantages one have over the other

Note the Honda is a manual transmission while the Corolla is auto

So I bring my case to the legends over here, what's your take?

Cost o parts replacement

Fuel economy

How rugged they are

How easy for mechanic to work on

Resale value
Thanks

If them give me corola without engine and give me tokunbo of the honda civic.

I will stilll take the corolla..

It incomparable...

Family / Re: How Does An Average Nigerian Youth Escape Poverty? by causimalbarka(m): 12:28pm On Aug 25, 2020
Supreme145:
Good day folks, I have been a visitor on nairaland for a while now so far I have really learnt a lot from here, I had to register so as to share my worries here because I know that I can get useful contributions. Please ignore my grammatical blunders,I'm not really good at writing.

I graduated from secondary school in 2010 at the age of 18 and 10 years later I seem to be moving around in circles. After secondary school I was given two options of going to the university or doing business, I chose business without thinking twice I needed money so school can wait.

Two of my uncles raised the sum of 150,000 for me after I was done learning a trade with the condition that I will pay back at the end of the year without interest. Then the ports were closed so I would travel to cotonu to buy male jeans and sold in Nigeria in wholesale. Business was moving well, I tripled my capital that same year by the age of 20 I had already counted my first million, I felt on top of the world, I spent on my family helped in paying house rent and my siblings school fees (I'm the first child), then tragedy struck.

After the second year my uncle whom I was staying with and contributed majority of my capital asked for an account of how I had been running the business which I gave him, I had already returned the other uncle's money by then. After the audit my uncle said he's going to add another money to my capital then after four years he would settle me, I refused citing that apprenticeship wasn't our agreement initially, the mother caused a big issue to the extent it had to be settled in the village. I had to leave my uncle's house to my parents since we couldn't reach a compromise, as for his capital over the years I had borrowed him money on several occasions which was already more than what he gave me as my capital, I forgot the balance and left.

Three months after I left my uncle, my goods was intercepted by customs in Benin, my agent which coincidentally happened to be that my uncle put my goods ( and that of others) in a vehicle carrying second hand tyres from Lagos to the east and everything in the vehicle was confiscated. We spent 5months trying to get the goods back spending the remaining savings I had, it was released after six months but most of the goods was either stolen or sold by customs, I got only around 10% of my seized goods back. I was back to square one.

After all my attempts to raise another capital proved abortive I gave up and started doing menial jobs to survive,my mom would always encourage me that I'm still young and would rise again. Two years after nothing tangible was fort coming, I was dead broke and depressed, I started feeling pressure at home when I couldn't bear it I relocated to port Harcourt in search of greener pastures. I slept in parks and slums till I managed to get a security job with a 15k salary then,I worked for some years and discovered that I wasn't making any progress in life,I wasn't saving anything and was still stagnant. I decided to venture into education, even though it wasn't my first choice at least I would have a certificate to be proud of after some years.

I got admission in the federal university in Benue in 2017 at the age of 25 to study statistics/computer science (bsc ed) it wasn't my choice but time was not on my side , most of my mates then had graduated and even working. My year one was hell, I resumed school with just my bag of cloths, no accommodation nor food stuffs, I slept in lecture halls and sometimes went for lectures without bathing, one time I called my dad and he said if I can't bear it I should abandon the school and come back,I later managed to get someone to squat me in the hostel, I got home during nuga break to meet the news that my dad just bought a land,so this man had money to buy land and allowed me to suffer in school ( he mind sha ).

Fast forward 3 years later and I'm stuck in 300 level not knowing what to do with my life, just being in school is not enough for me, I need to earn money because I became independent at a young age and depending on my parents now is serious giving me a cause for concern. I stayed back in school during the lockdown so I could think about my life, after reading some threads on nairaland I decided to go into programming since I had a semi abacus laptop on it's last legs,I got links to free courses on udemy and also enrolled for free courses on Alison and pirple.

Learning programming brought my joy back,I loved the critical thinking involved and realized I hated it before because of the way it was taught by our lecturers,I started with web development (HTML and CSS) and I observed I was grabbing it quit fast. Data was a problem but I managed the mid night subscription each time I manage to get airtime. I was happy once more cause I could code for hours on an empty stomach and I wouldn't care then tragedy struck again.

My system developed a fault, vertical lines appeared on the screen and it started having difficulty in booting,it finally gave up the ghost a few days later. I tried to improvise by using my phone to code but it was a horrible experience and I gave up. back to square one again,I had to go home and I haven't gotten myself ever since.

How do I break free from this poverty since I came back I have looked for job without luck, I haven't earned a dime since this year since I parted ways with my boss whom I learnt interlocking and concrete stamping under, the man was using me like a slave. Motivational speakers would say there's light at the end of the tunnel but mine looks like a maze/roundabout tunnel. I got home and yahoo is the trending stuff in the area even my younger ones has joined, my younger brother nearly picked 7million before the aza was killed in the dying minute (whatever he means by that), I seem to be the only one among my set that's still broke, I can't even remember the last time I got anything for my self, now I wear my younger brothers cloths and they recharge my phone for me,how long will I continue like this?? ..... I don't want to follow the yahoo band wagon, I'm beginning to lose hope.

Pls I need your comments and advice
